I enjoy watching the Barefoot Contessa on the Food Network. She is a down to earth person that I can identify with. Her recipes are mouth-watering. So, when I saw that she wrote a book about party food I couldn't wait to run out to buy it! She didn't let me down and the guests at my next party will be thrilled with the results, I am sure. When you have a party you should consider buying this book. You will be proud to present the wonderful food to YOUR guests!

I love to cook healthy great tasting food and I have a list ( all in my head) of things I've never made before, while the list continues to grow I have found some fantastic guidance and fail proof recipes from The Barefoot Contessa. Her book "The Barefoot Contessa's Parties" is a must for those who love to entertain with ease and style while impressing your guests with irresistable dishes that range from refreshing and light to hearty and comforting that definitely hit the spot.

I've used it so much that it is already full of pages that have smudges ...aren't these the best kinds of cook books!

Barefoot Contessa is my kitchen idol. Her recipes are easy to follow, her ingredients are fresh and healthy and easy to find at the store.

Ina -- the Contessa -- has a great following. After a successful run as the owner of a gormet store in the Hamptons, Ina has written about 6 cookbooks and has a popular series on FoodTV. She is funny, warm and her recipes are delicious!! My favorites include: orzo with roasted vegetables, chicken chili (no beans) and sweet pea soup. My husband and I cook each Sunday for at least 10 people and each week we turn to Ina for direction and tasty nibbles. Success each week -- unless our family is fibbing!

My one complaint would be that she calls for more oil or butter and salt than we like to use. So we simply reduce accordingly and all is well.

Her reicpes can also be downloaded on foodtv.com and it even comes with a handy grocery list!

Ina Garten is a favorite cook book author and television personality extraordinarie in our household She has a television series called the Barefoot Contessa and has written several cookbooks that have really stood the test of time with us We have watched nearly all of her shows and they always inspire us to make some of her recipes.

The "Parties" cookbooks has some really great recipes that are not exotic but they are major crowd pleasers. Here are a few that we love:

1) Popovers - these were a tradition in my house growing up and are easy to make and people love them. If you don't know what they are click on this link to see the ingredients and try them out. Be sure to time them to come out of the oven right when dinner starts.
