This card is good for saving for college, you can put your rewards towards a 529 account for children. You can also use it to pay off existing student loans. You can receive points for using the credit card, shopping on their website, down loading coupons and using them. They have discounts for online shopping that include free shipping, and taking a % off orders. The downfalls are not every online store is on their website, and you only receive 1% of what you charge on your card. You do receive additional percentages from shopping on their site. They also have sweepstakes, drawings, and other prizes. You do not have to apply the savings, the points you earn are automatically applied to the account you set up every quarter. This is nice because you don't have to worry about it. They contact you every quarter to let you know how much was applied to your account. Really a great card if you want to pay down student loan debt or save for college.

Would recomend this to any parent as you never know how much college is going to be and you don't have to use the money on college if child decides not to go!!...

We don't carry a balance and use this card only on purchases and expenses we have during the month. But by putting car insurance, taxes and groceries on we have managed to earn well over $2,000 in the past seven years and every little bit helps!...

When the college bills start pouring in, my UPromise account will be ready to handle them. By using the card as you would any other credit card you can accumulate savings for education. It's very easy!

If you are a Upromise member it makes sense to have the Upromise card. You get cash back into your Upromise account automatically. The more you spend the more you get back. Just make sure you are paying off the balance each month so you don't eat up your savings in finance charges.

I heard about the UPromise program about 3-4 years ago from a friend, and at first dismissed it as another marketing scheme. At that time we used a cash back credit card and got 1-3% back on our monthly purchases. We always pay off our monthly balance, so we collect free money for charging all our food, gas, anything we can charge that we can afford to pay off. When I checked into UPromise, it appeared a better deal since we have kids in their teens. This is a no annual fee credit card, has a pretty low (9%) interest rate (although we don't use that), but mostly, we collect dollar savings every month on our credit card bill - the dollar savings are credited in an account that we are building to be used for our sons' college expenses a few years down the road. So just by buying our usual purchases month after month, we've earned about $1000 so far for college. You have to join UPRomise, of course, to take advantage of this credit card, but this card maximizes the (excellent) benefits of...
