I have had my Alaskin Airlines signiture card for three years. i originally thought it would be a good card to have, but the interest rate is very high, even though my credit is excellent. The annual fee is the highest of any mileage card I have had. I thought the benefit of an annual airline buddy pass for $50 sounded good but found out that they add several "costs" into the final expense and there is very little savings. I used my miles to purchase an airline ticket one way and paid the return flight on Alaskin airlines but found that I coud have spent less buying a full round trip ticket on Southwest airlines. I have cancelled this card and now use a southwest visa card. The only really positive thing I can say about the Alaskin Airlines Signiture card is that it looked really cool. The black card with gold writing looked great and made me feel worthwhile. I took this card with me to Mexico but choose to use a card with a lower interest rate while I was there.

Mileage awards are difficult to redeem. Mileage requirements seem to go up. Good luck using your companion ticket....

Not a bad card if you travel a lot where Alaska Air/Horizon Air flys, but if you are travelling out of the country it is not the best card to use as they will charge you a 3% foreign transaction fee on any transactions you make in another country. These fees can definately add up if you are doing some major trips or spending lots, so you might just want to use another card when travelling outside the US....

I have been an Alaska Airlines customer for over 20 years. I have never had a delayed flight or a lost bag. The combination of Alaska Air, Horizon Air and Bank of America are hard to beat. The features on the card make it a great value to my family. We get points for all of our purchases with the card. I give this card a 5 star review.
