My children have had LOTS of pain with teething. I have spoken with several parents who say that they did not even realize that their kids cut a tooth. My kids have always made teething a memorable experience, and I feel for you and your child if you are in the midst of this tough time.

Baby Orajel is topical (placed on the skin, such as the gums) benzocaine and is used as an anesthetic.

What I like about Orajel:

Works quickly--the baby tends to stop crying within a short period of time after application if the pain is related to teething
Easy to find--it is often available at stores with a pharmacy section and sometimes in the baby section as well
Available in different strengths (stronger strength for nighttime relief)
This worked much better than teething tablets that I tried--those made my child SCREAM (they have caffeine and can aggravate reflux)
Available with applicators (but these are more expensive)--can use a cotton applicator or your finger if you don't mind a numb finger...

Baby Orajel Teething Gel works great for my teething toddler. She doesn't like it at first (and I've risked getting bit putting it in her mouth), but once it's in, she stops crying! We're both grateful she's no longer in pain.

But it's not just for toddlers and babies. My eleven year old daughter was complaining of a tooth ache, and once we discovered it was just a baby tooth wiggling it's way out and not something needing a dentist, I had her use the Baby Orajel and she was immediately in a much better mood. Plus, it didn't taste bad, so she's agreed she'll use it again if she needs to. That's very important. We all know what grouses pre-teens can be, and any product that will kill her pain instantly is A+ in my books!

My son got his first tooth around three months of age. He was drooling a LOT and cranky. Since I am a first time mom, I wasn't sure what was going on. Sure enough, after a couple weeks of drooling, out popped his first tooth.

Unfortunately, I didn't know he was teething when he got his first tooth, so I never applied the Baby Orajel to his gums. Soon after that first tooth, two more popped out very quickly. This time I was aware that he was teething, so I was sure to apply the Baby Orajel at the first sign of discomfort.

If my son was fussing and in pain, I would apply the Baby Orajel and he would almost immediately be happy again. I tried some on my gums so I knew what it felt like and was surprised at how strong the numbing was.

The Baby Orajel became so important that I bought two. One for home and one for the diaper bag. I would hate to be out of the house and have a miserable, teething baby with nothing to give him.

My son is now 11 months old and gets new teeth all...

I have bought Baby Orajel I don't know how many times for my 1 year old daughter she started teething at 9 weeks old and I was resistant to buy the Orajel. When I finally did I actually got my daughter to sleep for 3 hours instead of 30 minutes. As soon as I applied the Orajel it kicked in. Baby Orajel worked really well she could swallow and didn't bite her tongue or anything. It sticks to the place it is needed. I would definantly refer it to my friends and family....

i have a little girl who is teething so her gums hurt a lot. i just put a little on and in just seconds she gets releif. shes quiets down and feels sooo much better afterward. i can just slip it in my pocket when we have to go somewhere. its so easy to use....

These are great to keep in your diaper bag or at home. They are very easy to use and affective. i recommend them for all new mothers!...

Baby Orajel is fast acting and helps relieve pain for teething babies. When teething your gums get sore and swollen and usually medications cant be given to babies. So its nice that there is something out there to help relieve babies of this discomfort....

I loved this product for my son when he was teething it helped him so much, i have a 1 year old and am expecting another in the beginning of April. I really do reccomend this product. i also like it because it is specially formulated for BABY....

As a new mother years ago, my mother recommended baby orajel and I thought it was a miracle worker then and as a "new grandmother" of 2 infant boys its nice to know that the product I relied on still works as fast and consistantly today. This is a must have for the baby bag! ...

When my son was teething this was a life saver. I even use it now that my son is 6 and grinds his teeth sometimes and in the morning they will be a little sore, put this on the tip and the pain totally goes away. The only con is when my son was a baby, it didn't last as long as I would have wanted it to....

Ethan, 14 months, is cutting three new teeth. Since we have started the teething phase of infancy he has hated oragel. It gets the job done but it is always a fight. He prefers Highlands teething tablets....
