Baby Mama was a funny movie. I was waiting for the movie to come out on DVD, once it came out i couldn't wait to rent it. Great actors, they are entertaining to watch. Just hope no one is really like that in real life. It's a movie you can watch once, and maybe not care to watch it again....

bkovacs says "Baby boom is not quite a bust" about Baby Mama

I got my hopes up for Baby Mama, a comedy by the hot Saturday Night Live team of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. It's not a bad movie and it has respectable preformances and a few laughs, but it's not a laugh-a-minute comedy. Still, Baby Mama is worth seeing with your significant other on a night when there's not much else to do.

Baby Mama stars Tina Fey (SNL and 30 Rock) as Kate, a 37-year-old single woman whose fast-paced executive job rules out relationships. Her biological clock is ticking and the call of motherhood beckons, but Kate can't conceive. After a few tries at a fertility clinic, she decides to fertilize an egg and have it implanted in a surrogate mother. Visiting a surrogate agency run by slightly creepy and far-too-fecund Chaffee Bicknell (Sigourney Weaver), Kate decides to use the gestation services of white-trash blonde Angie (Amy Poehler).

The next 45 minutes of Baby Mama are about the odd couple of Kate and Angie, one an uptight business woman who has an ordered and focused...
...

Maybe I'm just a fan of these two woman in Baby Mama, but I loved the movie!
I never imagined the twist it took, because the previews never even hinted at it! And it gave insight to two different worlds, without really being too serious.

    Great movie!
...

This movie was great. I was laughing pretty much the whole way through. There were also those moments where you just wanted to cry. It was kind of like a comedy/chick flick mix. There is something for everyone(except maybe children) in this movie. I definitely recommend seeing it. I know I will be at the store buying the DVD as soon as I can!...

Amy Poehler & Tina Fey are great together in this movie. I've been a fan of both of them for awhile now, but seeing them together in this movie was the best they've ever been! Amy Poehler plays surrogate mother, Angie, who is just like a big kid herself. She has no concept of what's appropriate and what's not, she doesn't know how to really fit into adult life whatsoever. Tiny Fey plays responsible Mother-want-to-be, Kate. Kate is the polar opposite of Angie; she's responsible, successful, and a major control freak. Watching these two funny women together is similar to watching The Odd Couple, because that's what they are.

And, hey, the men in the show were great too! I enjoyed Romany Malco as Oscar, the doorman at Kate's apartment. Remember him from 40 Year Old Virgin? He's just as funny in this movie as in that one, I just wish he had a bigger part. Also Greg Kinnear does a nice job as playing Kate's love interest in the movie.

But the scene stealer BY FAR was Steve...
...

This movie was really good and hilariously funny. Everyone thinks babies are adorable, and this movie really looks at the funny side of pregnancy. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler work really well together, both on SNL and in this movie. Its also really amazing that the characters are totally different but end up changing the other in an unexpected way, i.e. free spirited Angie tries to get uptight Kate to loosen up a little while Kate teaches Angie how to be a mom....

LauraBelle says "Left Smiling, But Not Laughing As Much As I Wanted To" about Baby Mama

I don't know what it is about Saturday Night Live veterans that make the move to film. They're either wildly successful, like Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, and Will Ferrell, or they can never quite get it going like Kevin Nolan, Julia Sweeney, and Joe Piscopo. With the news that two of the more recent veterans of the show, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, were doing the film Baby Mama together, I wanted to think it would be just terrific, but I just wasn't too sure.

I came away from it having definitely laughed, and if you've seen the previews with Poehler peeing in the sink and asking the LaMaze expert if you can spray Pam on the vagina to get it lubricated, you know it's funny. But like some films, are these the only funny parts to the film, the ones you've already seen in the previews, or does it keep you rolling on the floor and slapping your knee throughout? The answer is neither. It has enough funny parts in it, such as Fey telling her mom that being single isn't an alternative lifestyle,......
