marinesfamily says "great variety IN STORE, quality clothing" about Babies-R-Us

In all fairnes I must first admit I once worked for Babies R US (henceforth BRU) about 2 1/2 years ago.

I was disinchanted during training! when the store trainer was advising all the employees about how to demostrate car seat installations for reference and she was giving them incorrect info! never install a carseat based on a BRU employees recommendations without reading the manual and double checking I was more disappointed to have misinformation thrust upon me at other BRU stores regarding carseats and other baby gear. In BRUs defence they do try to train employees about products, many employees don't care and sometimes they are just given the wrong info!

I like how they have many different carseats and strollers and things for you to try out in the store. It makes it easier to make an informed purchase. Also they will allow you to take a carseat out and and see if it fit and installs well in your car (just please don't ask for this on a busy Saturday!)

They have a great clothing...
...

mmkmama says "Avoid it at all costs." about Babies-R-Us

Like most new moms, Babies R Us was the first place I thought of to register for gifts. They made it pretty easy, and so I went along. I registered for most everything there, and that seemed fine. And then last summer they changed their return policy. Suddenly, you not only had to have receipts for everything (even items that were gifts and that they had in the store), and they started limiting when you could return things off your registry. So I received 2 Baby Bijorns, but didn't try to take the 2nd one back for a couple months after the baby was born, and they refused to take it back. We also got a diaper bag for my husband that he never ended up using and they refused to take that back too. They also really limit when you can return any items like shampoos and things. If you talk to their managers, they say it's the same policy that Toys R Us has had for years, but they don't seem to understand that registry for baby items is very different than buying a birthday present. ...
...

NYCReviewer says "Uneven stores, uneven staff" about Babies-R-Us

I know that it should not, but it does. Babies 'R Us annoys me to no end. Sometimes the priceing (as with Pampers Wipes) can be great; othertimes they are really high.

The same thing goes with the staff. Some are wonderful and knowledgeable; others have no idea what they are talking about. Some ware very helpful, others are indifferent (at best)...and this is not only between stores but within the same store. One example: I was looking for the new BPA free Gerber bottles. My wife specifically asked me to get the tinted ones not the clear ones (don't know why, but she did). One clerk claimed that tinted did not exist (yet I could see them on the shelf, but not from Gerber); another said that they existed but where not Gerber (which at least validated what I could see) while a third clerk said that they did exist but that this particular store did not carry them. Other stores might or I could get them on-line (which was true).

Carpe Diem really holds true here. If you...
...

TrishaJ says "literally, has everything you need" about Babies-R-Us

Babies R Us is a fabulous place to go when you are a new parent or parent-to-be and have no clue where to begin with getting everything you need. They have great staff to help you through this process, as well as a gift registry that helps you remember even the smallest of details. This is a great place for one-stop shopping for your baby, with many brands to choose from. It is also convenient that they have the photo studio right there as well. One of the best aspects of the store is the "mother's room", which is a quiet place for breastfeeding, changing, etc. So mother-friendly!...

bsm says "Babies-R-Us website is great, customer service is marginal" about Babies-R-Us

Babies-R-Us is a great store and have a very easy to use baby registry. I would use this website again to look at items and will continue to shop in the store. Their customer service was marginal at best. Ordering items from a baby registery is extremely easy. The problem occured when my items were back-ordered for 2 months and the mom-to-be changed residences during this time. I called customer service to check on the status of my order and the representative was not able to see the status online and did not volunteer to look into it. As these items were for an expectant mother, I would think Babies-R-Us would be more accomodating to notifying shoppers of expected delivery times in order to ensure all items for baby are received before Mom delivers. She also said nothing could be done to change the shipping address until the items were already shipped out--then I could request a re-routing of the items. She said neither I nor the mom could make changes to the shipment address...
...

melonkossy says "A pleasant place to shop with a variety that will keep you going" about Babies-R-Us

Babies R Us has been consistent with their prices. When I compare theirs to Walmart's, TRU is almost definitely cheaper. They have a great variety of every brand and style, they offer organic and natural products, and their deals on their website are usually great (Such as free shipping on certain items!)...

a26c331 says "Has everything but expensive" about Babies-R-Us

I can't say that I hate this store because I love browsing and seeing all the baby stuff. I like their selection of clothes but I think they are too pricey for as long as the kids will wear them...Alot of the things that they have can be purchased at target or Baby Depot for less. However, it is a good place to register as they will have everything you need to raise a baby. I do wish they had more selection of premie sized clothes. My daughter wore them for the 1st 2 months and she was limited to some jammies and onesies. (she was still cute)

The furniture section is very nice. I like the choices and that they are not all partical board crappy pieces. But there again, very pricey. Maybe I am picky but I think that things for babies should be more affordable for us new mommies that decide to stay-at-home. I am willing to pay for quality but when the same identical things are on sale at Target for less I think they take advantage.

Good in-store clearance though. I got my daughter's jumper...
...

Bryan-Carey says "Babies-R-Us: The Baby Superstore Retailer in Cyberspace" about Babies-R-Us

There are many on- line retailers that bring the baby product superstore concept to your home pc screen. They usually don't offer quite the number of products you can find in a physical store but they do offer a good amount of choices and the convenience of shopping at home. One such store is Babiesrus.com, a store for baby products.

Web Site Commentary:

Most people know about Babies-R-Us from the physical stores. I am fully aware of these stores, and I knew there was probably an on- line presence as well. When I first visited this on- line store, I assumed the logon was likely going to be babiesrus.com so I typed it, pressed return, and waited for the screen to respond. My assumption was correct, but I was shocked at what I saw: The exact same layout as Amazon.com! (the layout is slightly different now, but it was exactly the same back then). I didn't know it then, but Babiesrus.com is affiliated with book and general merchandise giant Amazon.com- the web site where I have made more...
...
