The Avent Manual Pump is a great manual pump. SO nice to not require a power outlet! It is easy to use with one hand and expresses milk well. I never used anything else. The star valves tend to wear out... but just call Avent (number on their website) and they send you replacements for free! I used this for two children, pumping 3-4 times a day, 5 days a week when i went back to work when they were around 3 months. It always worked well. The bottles are also convenient and I never had any problems with leaks. I also took this on several trips for work, conferences and such. It was so lightweight and easy to carry, plus I could use it anywhere and not worry about an outlet. No one even knew I was doing it! It helped me to be able to breastfeed my oldest for 18 mos and my youngest for 16. I definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about a pump. Had access to a free Pump-In-Style from Medela, but this was so much better!
...

I love the Avent Brand. I have been please almost all of their products from the plain old bottle to the pacifiers and from the microwave Sterilizer and nursing pads. I love Avent. I don't, however, like the Avent Isis Manual Breast Pump. It is the only breast pump I've ever used so I'm not real sure if this is normal for a manual or not, but it was such a hassle to get going. Naturally, when you breast feed, you tend to pump only in some special circumstances (unless you work from home and you'd be advised to stick with a hospital grade pump anyway!) This pump was so much to take apart, clean, dry, reassemble and use to pump again. It was difficult to see if all the parts were in there properly so I would start pumping again, and it wouldn't "suck". So I'd have to take it apart and start over again to make sure I had it all in place. It was very frustrating. Then there were many times it seemed to pinch me. The suction just seemed so uneven that it would pinch rather...
...

I am a stay at home mom, so I dont really need to use my pump very often. But for the amount I use it, its perfect. If I wasnt a stay at home mom I may not have gone with the manual but I still would have stuck to Avent!! Any woman I know LOVES Avent and they are a great value for your money! Not to mention the manual pumps are easy to clean, easier to bring with you when you are on the go, and a whole lot less noisy then the electric.
...

I bought the Avent Isis manual breast pump before my son was born four years ago at the suggestion of a lactation specialist and have used it with each pregnancy since and I love it! I am a stay-at-home mom and solely breast feed my children until they are at least a year old but in those instances when you need some relief or plan to be away from baby for a while, it is a wonderful small pump to have around. It is easy to use, easy to clean, easy to disassemble and reassemble and works directly with the Avent bottles. And I feel this is very nice feature, no transferring milk from one container to the next before it can be used. You simply take the pump top off and put a nipple on the bottle and it is ready to feed baby with. It is very portable and easy to use anywhere, I keep mine in a small lunch bag and no one has any idea what is inside. Baby number three will be here in less than ten weeks and I look forward to using the Avent Isis pump once again. It is a very handy...
...

I have to say that I have used other pumps and compared to the other ones that I have used in the past this one is the most comfortable. I know how hard it is to find something that works and doesn't hurt so much. I like the design. It doesn't require much pressure which doesn't leave you so sore. It also is pretty small so you can hide it in a diaper bag and not be all embarassed.

This is a great pump because it is easy to operate manually and has minimal parts for cleaning. I owned several pumps before this one and found all the pieces and tubes to be so annoying to clean. The Avent manual pump is compact and easy to slip in your purse or diaper bag. I traveled with this to hawaii (with my husband and bro-inlaws) and carried it with me on excursions of all sorts and no-one even knew I had it or was pumping through out the trip. It was great and I recommend it to all new or experienced moms!
...

I brestfed for at least one year to my daughter, I was making too much milk at the time and roughly could handle the pain on my breasts, but using this breast pump, ease the pain, it comes with a case and bottles, cooling pads and the pump. The instructions are easy to understand and the cleaning as well, I certainly recommend this product to moms that work constantly or are on the go all the time, AVENT manual breast pump, is a must-have product on your nursery, ideal size, excellent case to carry, extra accesories, a manual that is easy to read, tips for the use. The case is easy to carry, looks like a pursue or carry on, the pump does not cause pain when use correctly, the cooling pads ease the pain, the carry-bag is perfect for storage and travel, the bottles that come with for milk storage and use, the extra accesories for future usem and the manual that explains everything from how to use to cleaning.
...

family01 says "The Avent Naturally Breastpump makes bottle feeding feel natural" about Avent Isis Manual Breast Pump

I have tried several different styles of breastpumps, to only fall in love with the Avent Naturally Isis Breastpump. It has a silicone massage cushion that imitates a baby suckling at the breast and stimulate let down. Which in turn is less painful and easier for pumping. It also has a faster express for flow which cut down time while pumping. The breastpump kit I have has three easy to store bottles with nipples and sealing disc. For mothers looking to nurse and want an option of pumping I would recommend this brand for starters. With all that said this is a manual pump but it works just as great and if not greater than the hospital and expensive pumps. Happy Mom and baby.
...

amy1017 says "Best manual pump out there!" about Avent Isis Manual Breast Pump

The Isis Manual breast pump made by Avent is wonderful. I had to take a trip to Orlando last year and I was going to leave my breastfed baby boy. I only had a automatic pump that worked on electricity. Since I knew I would have a few long hours at the airport, I purchased the Isis pump to use in the bathroom stall a few times and it was a lifesaver. I thought it would not work as well as the automatic pump but it worked just as well. I was surprised! I got almost as much milk out as I did with the automatic pump. For the low price, you can't beat it. It also came with a few Avent bottles and nippes to use with it. I already used all Avent bottles so that was very helpful as well. The only con I can see is that it did make my hand tired from all of the manual motion but that is to be expected from a "manual" pump! I would highly recomment this pump if you are looking for an easy, discreet pump to use on the go!
...

The Avent manual breast pump is amazing! I have tried other brands and they were uncomfortable and the suction was never right. I like being able to control the speed and strength at which you pump, unlike the electric breast pumps. Everything is easily assembled and comes apart to be washed. There is a silicone breast sheild that mimics the suction of a baby and makes it much more comfortable than traditional plastic funnels. I am able to get the most milk expressed with this pump and it is absolutely great. It is not expensive but also not cheap and worth every penny. I highly rcommend this pump!
...

Let me tell you this is a MUST have if you are nursing or planning to nurse your little angel. I owned the electric pump as well as the manual pump and I love the manual pump as much as I did the electric pump; Fast easy assembly anywhere anytime, the avent bottles attach to the screw ring and you will pump your milk directly into the bottle, once done you can either feed the baby directly from the bottle that you pumped the milk in or you can freeze the milk in the same bottle and then use it to feed later, all from the same bottle, why use bags and mess up the freezer when the bust or thaw them and make a mess transferring the milk into the bottle, keep it all in one container and save yourself time and that Precious milk you worked so hard for. The pump itselfe can be taken apart and every piece can go into the dishwasher, there is not one piece that can't be washed easily; I had actually 4(!!) of these pumps and used them everywhere we went, BEST investment I have ever made and would...
...

The Avent Isis manual pump is very economical. I used it more with my first son when I was working. I got it with the insulated bag pack. I found it very easy to use and at a fraction of the cost of electronic pumps. It's easy to clean, too. It came with a couple extra parts, so I switched out those parts when I used the pump again for my second child. When I used it while I was working, I had to pump in a conference room with people walking right outside the door. It's so quiet, I'm sure no one knew what was going on inside, unless they saw me carrying my bottle of milk to the refrigerator. If you are on a buget, this is the pump for you!
...

When my first son was born, he would not nurse. I wanted the best nutrients for him, so I decided to pump for the first couple of weeks, so I got an Avent Hand Pump. I realized right away that it was a good product for occasional use, but not for everyday, all day use. It took too long, my hand would ache, it didn't seem to be as effective (couldn't pump much milk), and it leaked. It would leak at the top, so I would have to stuff a burp cloth under it so that I wouldn't have to constantly change my shirt. Pretty annoying! I ended up renting a pump from my local lactation specialist, which worked so much better. I still held on to this pump, though because it really was good for every now and then use. It is excellent in helping relieve engorgement. It is also good when traveling - when I didn't want to stop as often, so I would pump (while my hubby drove of course) and feed my baby a bottle.
...

When my first son was born, I knew I wanted to try breastfeeding. I didn't know that my baby and I would have such a hard time getting started. When I realized that we were having trouble, I went out to purchase a breast pump. Not knowing anything about them, I read the boxes carefully a chose a dual electric pump. I got it home and pumped and pumped and pumped. After much time spent pumping, I was able to retrieve only an ounce or two. I was tired, sore and discouraged. Enter a lactation consultant, who not only helped my son and I to work out our breastfeeding issues, but also steered me away from that particular pump forever. Thus began my relationship with the Avent Isis.

I was shocked when this manual pump worked so easily for me. In about 20 minutes time, I was able to pump about 4 ounces. This was so much better than the experience I had with the other pump. I feared that my hand would wear out, but I never felt tired at all. Had I wanted to, I could have continued pumping with...
...
