Katrena says "Astelin Website offers $20 coupon and product information" about Astelin Nasal Spray

My daughter has been on Astelin Nasal Spray for a few years, and I recently found this website on Astelin. I noticed right away that they have a coupon for $20 off a prescription of Astelin and took advantage of that offer. I followed the directions carefully--it involves mailing in the receipt and a label, which is a pain, but it was worth $20.

Here is what the website offers:

About Astelin--learn about benefits, how to use (including a video showing how to properly spray), and information for parents (geared toward parents of adolescents)

Science and Symptoms--learn about allergic rhinitis (hay fever) and common allergy symptoms and look at treatment options, including prescriptions antihistamines, decongestants, corticosteroids, and immunotherapy (allergy shots--which is what I ended up using)

Allergens and Irritants--learn about both and get a local pollen level by typing in your zip code (you can also sign up for pollen alerts through email--I signed up for this and got several alerts...

...

Katrena says "Astelin has helped my child to avoid sinusitis for years" about Astelin Nasal Spray

My 7-year-old used to get frequent sinus infections even after she started using Nasonex and Singulair. Her allergist then decided to try her on Astelin (azelastine HCl) nasal spray, and she has not had sinusitis since she started using Astelin years ago.

Astelin Nasal Spray comes in a 30 ml bottle (much larger than most prescription nasal sprays) with 200 metered sprays. It is:

not a steroid

does not contain pseudoephedrine

blocks the effects of histamine

"the only prescription antihistamine nasal spray approved to treat symptoms of both seasonal allergies and environmental irritants"

My child uses this nasal spray once a day with one spray in each nostril. Doctors may prescribe a second spray per day for those over the age of 12, according to the website. My daughter does not seem to have any side effects from using Astelin, but you may wish to visit their website to see a list of the most common side effects--they look pretty mild. The website also offers a $20.00 rebate for getting an Astelin...
...

countryquiltgirl says "Astelin Nasal Spray is the best product for post nasal drip. " about Astelin Nasal Spray

I got asthma as an adult and tried many medicines before I finally got my symptoms under control. Aside from an oral antihistamine and Advair Diskus, I couldn't get rid of the constant dripping from my nasal passages. I would always end up with a sinus infection or other bacterial infection which would set off my asthma. My doctor prescribed several different steroid nasal sprays to try to control my post nasal drip very common with allergies. Out of all the nasal sprays I tried on the market, including all the steroid ones, Astelin Nasal Spray was the only one that helped. It is an antihistamine nasal spray and does not contain any steroid. It also helped with the excess dripping when a cold or other upper respiratory infection would strike. Great Product!...
