I bought one when my friend mentioned it to me as my lab Godive hates getting her nails cut. The concept is nice but the product is junk. The button to lock the chuck broke after a couple months of use. The sanding drums they ship with the product bare last 4 paws of trimming before all the grit wers down. I could easily live with the above issues but then the battery started to go only after a few more months. I paid $40 for mine and at that price I expect a few years. The battery by 6 months got so bad I could only do 2 paws at one sitting. I have 2 dogs so it took me 4 days to grind down nails. And. I ground down the nails every other week so we are not talking big nails either, just a quick touch up. Now the dust catcher is a nice idea but just grind the nails in the garage or outside and you do not need it. After 9 months I went out and spent another $50 on a dremmel and love the thing.
...

I bought Peticure after watching the commercial quite a few times. I have a very anxious beagle and an elderly mixed breed. I cannot get either of them to sit still for a pedi cure. It is very loud and the beagle barks at it while running away and hiding. In addition, the file strip keeps falling off while I am trying to use it. The directions were vague and hard to follow....

I went and purchase one of these, and my dogs freak out. First off it sounds like a grinder when you put the dogs nail in there (which makes my dog uncomfortable) and it takes forever!!!!! Commerical is very misleading. They make it look so easy. But I have a big dog and his nails are larger and harder than what you see on t.v. By the time i get ONE nail done my dog is ready to high tail it out of there. Do not buy!!!!...

I have a Beagle that loves to dig hole in our yard, so when I saw the Peticure on TV, I thought that the product might file her claws short enough for her to stop digging.

The Peticure's purpose is to gently file a dog or cats, claws in small increments without hurting the quick (nerves in the end of the animal's claws) while getting the closest claw clipping possible.

The product does work, if you can get your dog to stay still long enough to get every nail as short as possible! It will take hours to file your dogs claws as short as the commercial states.

Do I feel more comforted that I'm not going to harm my pet? Yes, but I don't have the time to spend hours filing!

At $29.99, this product isn't necessarily worth buys, unless you're willing to spend hours at it! I try to use the product twenty minutes here and there filing my dog's claws, but by the time I get at it again, my dogs nails look just as long as when I first started.
...

After 3 days of spending lots of time trying to use this on my dog, finally got him to sit still to file 4 nails. It works really well like the commercial but if your dog is like mine I can't imagine trying to get him to use it all the time. For me it's worth just taking him to the groomers to get his nails cut. Less stress for me and less stress for him is worth it!...

The commercial looked great. Too bad they don't advertise the commercial with sound. When I received the item and turned it on my 3 dogs ran for cover. There is no way they will let me come near them with the mini plane engine item....

I saw the Peticure advertised on TV a couple of times and decided to check out their website. I ordered the Peticure Elite and received it 6 weeks later. I put it together and charged it per the instructions. Then it came to try it out. I turned the dial, which has settings from 0 to 10, and it only worked on number 10. It was way too fast to even try on my dog. I had my husband double check that I had put together correctly and it was. I emailed the company and the response I got was to call the toll free number. I called and they didn't offer any troubleshooting adivce, just to send it back and they would replace it. I opted to just send it back for a refund. I sent it back and called a week later to see if it had been received and when to expect a refund, I was very rudely informed that they had no way of knowing if it had been received and I would get my refund in somewhere from 30-90 days. In short, crappy product, with an even crappier customer service dept.

...

I recently purchased the Peticure pet nail groomer after seeing an infomercial and it works really well.

I offer these pieces of advice

turn it on and leave it near your pet (in my case, kittens & cats) so they get used to the sound

choose a time when your pet is quiet - after a nap worked well

go slow - only a few passes at a time

speak soothingly to your pet to let them know that this is a good thing - it can take a little bit of getting used to.

enjoy your pets' nicely groomed nails.

...
