bjoy says "Better in concept than functionality" about Arms Reach Co-Sleeper

I saw an advertisement fort the Arm's Reach Universal Cosleeper in Mothering magazine and thought it would be perfect for us. We are advocates of attachment parenting and like the idea of cosleeping. Unfortunately my baby is a light sleeper and would wake up after feedings when I tried to move her off of our mattress and back into the cosleeper. Luckily we have a king size bed. For the most part it is just holding our burp cloths and extra blankets right now. It is hard to get out of the bed because it is very large and you have to scoot down to the bottom of the mattress to get out (very difficult after a cecerean). It took a while to set up and is heavier than something like a pack'n'play so is therefore less travel worthy than a product like that, and it also does not convert as easily. We will probably just use it as a playpen once our daughter begins to sit up and move around. For now, it's not really serving a purpose, and it was not cheap. It is more attractive...
...

I loved this Arms Reach Co-Sleeper. We actually used it as a bassinet instead. it was a nice size to put in our small room, but had a higher weight limit that the standard bassinets.
...

shanvlasic says "My co sleepr was the best product I bought for my baby!" about Arms Reach Co-Sleeper

I LOVE my co-sleeper! We live in a two bedroom apartment and already have one child who is five. When he was a baby, he slept in bed with me and I was always so worried that either myself or my husband would roll over on him that I barely slept. The Arms Reach co-sleeper makes it possible for a breastfeeding mother to feed her baby without ever really getting out of bed, or allowing the baby to fully wake up.

My daughter is eight months old, and we are only now retiring it, and only because the mattress is kind of hard with the bars under it- and I think that may be contributing to my daughters frequent night wakings. But, up until this point- she has slept like a dream.

When my son was 4 months old, we moved him into his crib because I just wasn't getting enough sleep with him in bed with me. By the time I heard him begin to fuss and actually get out of my bed to feed him, he was WIDE awake and crying. Now, with the co-sleeper, I am able to roll over at her first signs of hunger, lift...
...

noahsmomma says "Dont waste your money on anything else!" about Arms Reach Co-Sleeper

This is the best baby buy we made. It doubles as a bassenett and a play yard! It attaches to your bed to have your newborn baby almost right in bed with you but it his/her own safty area! We used it in our bedroom for the first few months of our sons life. At 3 months he moved to his own room without a problem. We moved the co-sleeper to the livingroom lowered it and now use it as a play yard. Its been 10 months and we still use it everyday! Dont waste your money one buying both a bassenett and a playard when you and buy it all in one!...

janeenoel says "Brilliant invention!" about Arms Reach Co-Sleeper

The co-sleeper made our nighttime parenting so enjoyable! Our daughter slept in the co-sleeper until she was 8 months old. We loved having her close by and I NEVER felt sleep deprived, even when she was still getting up several times each night to eat. I know it's because I never had to set foot out of bed or even sit up to feed her. I'd just roll over and lift her up beside me. I never had to worry about rolling over on her or her getting smoothered by the covers or accidentally rolling out of bed.

I think it was good for her to sleep close to us, but not too close. When it was time to move her into her own room, she made the transition seamlessly. I think sleeping in the co-sleeper rather than right beside us gave her an element of independence that made the move simple. She was already used to sleeping "by herself" even though we were right there.

I highly recommend this product to every mom I know.
...

jbavolar says "I loved this co-sleeper! " about Arms Reach Co-Sleeper

This Co-Sleeper came in very handy in those first few months when you can't stand to be away from your newborn baby. We never attached it to our bed, but rather used it like a rolling bassinet. Once my son would wake up, I would roll him into the living room, feed him, prop him up in the co-sleeper and oogle him while I ate breakfast.

We have cats, so we bought the canopy. Even though they sent us the wrong size, it still served it's purpose and gave us a little piece of mind that the cats would not try to find a new snuggle buddy at nighttime.

We traveled with this co-sleeper often, and it was always easy...until my son outgrew it! Now we use the pack n play and it seems so bulky, but neccessary!
...

pmez says "I love the convienence and comfort of having my baby near." about Arms Reach Co-Sleeper

OK... so I really wanted this product bad. I had my husband put it up as soon as we came home from the hospital. It was nice knowing she was close at all times during the night without her being in the bed with us. I didn't have to get up so much at night for feedings. I just pulled her into bed with me and when she was done I put her right back into the co-sleeper. Right now she is 9 months and playing in the converted playpen while I write this. The playpen is a bit small for her but it's OK for short periods. It would be much nicer if this was a travel type playpen or some way where we could use this while away from home. But setup takes a bit of time. So it's just used in my office. Anyway... I like this product but a bassinet would probably work just as well. With the co-sleeper attached to the bed, it makes getting in and out of the bed difficult. It's large and I had to scoot all the way to the foot to get out of bed. Which was very difficult after just......
