BayouBengal says "I Kept Thinking, "Is It Over Yet?"" about Are We Done Yet

I will start this review off by saying that this movie is a huge disappointment and not 1/8 as good as the first one, Are We There Yet? Are We Done Yet? is the 2007 sequel to that movie and stars Ice Cube as NIck Pearsons, Nia Long as Suzanne Pearsons (Nick's wife), and John C. McGinley as Chuck, the multi-talented do-it-all.

Plot

Are We Done Yet? picks up where Are We There Yet? leaves off. Nick and Suzzane are married and living in an apartment with Suzanne's two children. Nick makes a living by writing for a sports magazine and he also works from home. The apartment is a bit crowded but they make things work--that is until Suzanne announces she is pregnant with twins! The search is now on for a house. They settle on a lovely older home in the suburbs and this is where they first meet Chuck. Chuck is the realator that sells them on the house. He strikes you as a bit odd, but believe me you haven't seen ODD yet.

The family moves in and soon discovers after Nick falls......

ChrisJarmick says "Blandings Remake utterly mediocre. - Worst Kids Films" about Are We Done Yet

This movie is a family friendly piece of mediocrity that looks and smells like a forgettable t.v. movie. I'm rating it two stars and still calling it a Kids Worst, because the family friendly genre deserves better.

Bright SPOT: John C. McGinley as a crazed contractor steals the movie. They should have built the movie around him.

Instead what we get is a loose remake of the excellent 1948 Cary Grant RKO comedy Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House.

Ice Cube has quickly made a sequel to the so-so Are We There Yet.

Nick Persons (Ice Cube) is married to Suzanne (Nia Long) and is stepfather to her two children. When Suzanne announces she is pregnant ("By who?" asks Nick. . .). So it's time to move out of the New York Apartment to a fixer upper in the suburbs.

Lots of slapstick stuff (like The Money Pit) happens. Nick gets burned, electrocuted and is attacked by a raccoon. The timing is off so everything seems forced. You might laugh, but you've seen this stuff...
...
