I was visiting my dermatologist for a completely different reason and at the very end of the visit I happened to ask if she could recommend anything for my chapped lips. I use chapstick ALL THE TIME, but in the winter my lips get really, really chapped. She recommended Aquaphor! I had never even thought about using Aquaphor on my lips- but she gave me a few samples and it is AMAZING! So, at first i tried it on my lips and it does such an awesome job I started using it on my dry elbows, then my feet - just about anywhere. I keep a tube of Aquaphor in my purse- one on my nightstand, even in the car. I don't even buy any other products for my chapped lips anymore- this really does it all. I sometimes just throw Aquaphor in my bag for a trip because I can use it all over and not have to pack different lotions and worry about a bunch of stuff. I highly recommend Aquaphor, it has a zillion uses.

Aquaphor Healing Ointment

My daughter suffers from a terrible case of Eczema in the wintertime. In the the summertime, the chlorine from the pool irritates her skin and she will start to break out in the little Eczema rashes all over. We are constantly applying different types of medications, lotions and skin protectants on her skin to help keep the Eczema at bay and keep her comfortable.

Recently, our Pediatrician had recommended trying Aquaphor Healing Ointment from Eucerin (the lotion that we use most). By applying Aquaphor before my daughter goes swimming, she is less likely to be irritated by the chlorine and have her skin dry out.

I have used Aquaphor for my childs eczema and it's a very moisturizing product. However it is more like glorified vaseline to me and if you are a budget conscience person, you may want to just buy a big jar of vaseline and save money. But otherwise it's nice and for those who need a slightly heavier product for extra dry skin , this is the one.

I first used Aquaphor Healing Ointment on my babys' bottom for occasional diaper rash, but soon found uses all over. It is safe to use on my entire family, even my daughter who has extremely sensitive skin. We use it on chapped lips, cheeks, hands, cracked cuticles, elbows, feet, and legs after shaving. It absorbs quickly and provides fast relief. My 4yr old even asks for it anytime she has a bump or bruise. So many uses!

We tried quite a few diaper rash creams but were not having much dramatic improvement with any of them. Finally, I decided to try some Aquaphor since I had used that on several of my cancer patients at the hospital. I found Aquaphor to be more effective than many of the diaper rash creams and ointments specially formulated for babies.

What I like about Aquaphor:

can protect and heal chapped, irritated, and (slightly) broken skin
works quickly (clinically proven to reduce diaper rash within 6 hours according to the website, and I found that to be true)
fairly easy to apply
does not burn when applied
less messy than zinc oxide (white stuff that is in products like Desitin)--I tended to use this under the baby's chin if she got chapped under there because it did not show but it's hard to keep chubby chins dry when the baby is drooling!
thick and stays where it is applied (resembles a thick Vaseline)
easy to find in most pharmacies and some other stores
tube fits easily into a diaper bag or pocketbook...

i went to my dermo. for a facial and asked about cream he could recommened for my dry itchy hands. he gave me sample of aquaphor and that was the best cream i have ever tried. my mom even loves it - she uses it all the time! i suffered from dry skin and since i have been using this wonderul product my hands have never been any softer! please everyone try

I don't always need extreme help with moisturizing but when I do need it Aquaphor is my skin hero. When I gave myself a chemical burn with nair, when I used proactive for the first time, windburn from commuting in San Francisco during winter... I always run to Aquaphor to set my skin straight. A few nights with this ointment on my face brings it back to normal fast. Although it does give me zits because it is heavy and greasy, It is worth it when my skin goes into dry skin worse-case scenario....

A friend told me his dermatologist recommended this to him for dry peeling lips. When I had the same problem, I decided to give it a try since it worked so well for him. Not only did it work for my lips, I use it on my hands, feet, elbows, eyebrows, and even on my face when I get really dry patches. I use it under gloves or socks before going to bed and wake up with super soft feet and hands. The only drawback is that I tend to have oily skin with dry patches and when I use it on my face it sometimes causes blemishes. It is also a bit heavy to use for a facial moisturizer.

This product is great as a lip balm. We always keep tube of it for that purpose. It also is great if you have a cut. Just add a touch before you put your bandage on....

Trying to recover from skin cancer surgeries was very difficult due to my topical antibiotic ointment allergies until my surgeon recommended Aquaphor Healing Ointment. I was given Aquaphor at the hospital after my surgery and have found that it is available almost everywhere. Often it is located with the diabetic supplies. This healing ointment worked wonderfully on my surgical site and this time I don't even have a remaining scar! I carry Aquaphor everywhere and have also shared it with my coworkers for things such as chapped lips and cracked feet. They always thank me and say that it was the best ointment they have ever used. I highly recommend this product.

I absolutely love Aquaphor. This lotion has given me the smoothest skin during the wintery cold months and has healed almost every dry skin patch there is all over my body. I was first introduced to Aquaphor by my dermatologist who gave me numerous samples to apply to my face, elbows and feet. I have a dry skin condition and this has helped my skin out enormously. It truly is heaven sent and now I'm addicted and can't get enough. I have Aquaphor travel size in my car, a full size tube in my house and at work. See? I had major skin problems and went to many doctors. Spent hundreds of dollars on prescriptions. Aquaphor helped more than anything. I swear by it.
