pple's iTunes is an all-in-one jukebox that lets you play music, movies, and podcasts, and also lets you connect to the iTunes Store to browse and buy additional content. iTunes has become the industry standard in media players, largely because of its connection to iPods and the iPhone, but has always been the strongest player for Mac. This latest version adds a number of new interface enhancements, as well as some new features to make managing your media and devices easier.

iTunes 9 comes with a number of feature enhancements mostly to improve upon the way you interact with iTunes, your devices, and the iTunes Store. The interface of the iTunes Store has been cleaned up for easier navigation, redesigned with a new layout and a new black tabbed-menu system across the top. These new tabs replace the old left-side navigation to choose between categories like music, apps, movies, and podcasts. Also new to the iTunes Store, Apple has added more content when you purchase entire albums--what...
...

pitcherday says "iTunes - the store is fine, but I HATE the software to get to it" about Apple iTunes

I use iTunes, because I have an iPod. I don't know if there are other alternatives and if there are, I am sure it's a pain to set up. The original iTunes I had when I got the iPod was fine, but it seems like all the upgrades since have made the program slow and cumbersome.

First of all, I hate the addition of the "Genius," a sales tool. It takes inventory of your songs and suggests new ones for you to buy. At first, Genius evaluated your purchases, but now it evaluates all songs and movies in your library. It makes this thing a slow memory hog. It takes forever to open the iTunes store because it's trying to decide what to sell you. UPDATE! You can turn the Genius off. It's much better now.

My computer has a 1.37 gHz processor which is slow by today's standards. I can't upgrade iTunes past version 8.0 because it requires a faster processor. The upgrade promises to fix bugs, but I am stuck.

iTunes is also slowly raising the price of its songs. More popular ones are now $1.29, not $.99....
...

iTunes is amazing! New songs are always added and you can find almost any song you want!! There are movies to buy that are much cheaper than if you buy it in a store. Games and Apps if you have the correct iPod to fit it. Those are alot of fun. For instance there is a lie detector app that is alot of fun to play with. I know if you download iTunes you will NOT be dissappointed!!...

iTunes became a giant after iPods were allowed to play with PCs. The interface is nice and friendly. Organization is as simple as can be but can be complex. The only problem I have with it is that it freezes on occasion and the store can be disapointing sometimes, but the wrongs have always been made right. All in all, a solid music organization/player.
...

iTune trap! Be very very careful. I fell in line, I was given a iPod Shuffle (first generation). I downloaded music and spent plenty of money on music I felt was totally worth it.

Until....I bought a phone with a built in MP3 player and found out none of the music I bought could be used on it because iTunes does not allow you to convert your songs to MP3 format.

Yup you got it, you MUSTuse their songs on their players. Now I have to purchase music for a second time so I can have it on my phone. Or spend extra money on a new shuffle or ipod and carry another thing around.

If you plan on using apple products for the rest of your life they are great! Customer service is pretty good. They were quick to respond to questions and had solutions to almost every problem I had (excluding the above.) I did read that people said you can't retreave music lost (redown load) but they let me download music I had lost when my last lap top bit the dust. Just email support and they will...
...

The Itunes application is great. Easy to use, great resources for finding new music and podcasts. The video rental aspect is wonderful and full of promise. I have many many good things to say about Apples music software. The DRM behind the sceans is frustrating. I have no desire to steal the music, but managing multiple labrarys on multipe computers is distressing. Over All Apple Itunes is the best application out there. I use it everyday and I find my experience to be reletivle great....

While Apple iTunes is a great way to sort and organize your music selections, I have had a lot of difficulties with its compatibility to my system. I have a fairly new, up-to-date system; and have not had problems with any other software I have installed; but iTunes is the exception. It often does not open, or will not update. Also, it has in the past dumped all my music or all my podcasts, so that I had to start completely over compiling my lists. This product would be better if Apple would improve it to be fully ompatible with any major operating system....

Reviewer11 says "Itunes is the best place to buy songs--U save lots of money." about Apple iTunes

I am so glad I tried "Itunes." You can buy and download songs, music videos and even movies and TV shows. I have not purchased movies and TV shows there, but I have bought a few music videos and a lot of songs. Even songs that are rare to find, however, there were some songs I couldn't find that I wanted to get.

At first, when I bought some music videos, I thought I could play them on my DVD player. I later learned I couldn't when I submitted a query to support. What stinks is that I would have to buy some things (expensive) to be able to view the music videos on my TV. I'm grateful though that I was given a refund for the Music videos I had bought simply because I "didn't know that". I've had a couple of excellent experiences so far with customer service so that's another plus, in my opinion.

"Itunes" is mainly the best place to buy songs because you can save so much money and here's how: before "itunes" I bought CDs that were, overall, cost me a little over a hundred dollars on one shopping......

I use iTunes to download music I need to learn for work, or just music that I love to listen to over and over again. It's easy to use, very simple to understand, and very compatible with Windows, iPods, and Macs. iTunes offers inexpensive songs that you can download individually, or you can dowload an entire album of your favorite artist. iTunes offers a great variety of genres, including anything from world music, to standards, to classical, to 60s and 70s, to religious, to hip hop, to Americana....

spaceace says "This is a Wonderful Service for those who love Apple " about Apple iTunes

iTunes: This is a music service that has helped change the way things are done. Soon ( with-in 5-10 years) there will be no more going to the store to buy cd's or dvd's. Why would you do that when you can down load them, and them stream them to your tv or stero with things like Apple TV and Airport. My main problem with iTunes is tey do not always have the music that I am looking for. Like try to find AC/DC. Nope not there. I know there are legal issues and such, but it is still a pain in the butt. I am also not a fan of the "You can't get certain songs unless you buy the whole album". That really ticks me off. Like say on the KORN Greatest Hits cd. I already have the other songs, and I am a Pink Floyd fan so I want the version that Korn's does of Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 1, 2, & 3. But I cannot get it unless I buy the album. Seeing as I already own all of those songs , I do not want o spend $10 to et one song. So it looks like I will only be enjoying the 30 seconds...
...

feedback1 says "Listen and sync with iTunes." about Apple iTunes

Disclaimer: This review was based off version 7.6.2.9. Later versions of iTunes may pender some of this review inaccurate.

iTunes is a music program that has been around since the release of the first iPod generation in 2001. However, it wasn't until version 4.1 where Windows became a supported operating system, allowing Windows users to also own iPods.

While iTunes was mostly aimed towards syncing music, videos, and games to your iPod, it can also be used as a media jukebox for your computer. iTunes scrobbles your computer for audio files, videos, and songs that you can play in iTunes. iTunes supports most common audio and video file extensions, as well as Apple's AAC format. WMA (Windows Media Audio) and WMV (Windows Media Video) are not supported.

Some of iTunes most notable features aside from playing audio and video files are podcasts, internet radio, playlist, shuffling and mixing, rating music, visualizers, as well as using a "cover flow" that displays all of the album artwork in...
...
