I bought this IPod for my daughter when she was 6. It was a great first mp3 player. IT clips right on her clothes making it difficult to lose. She is now 9 and it still using it almost daily. We have had to replace the headphones several times. We like this better than the newer shuffles. There are just fewer parts to fall apart.

You cannot use the headphones that come with it for small children as the earbuds do not fit in their ears. We purchased some that have a band arounfd the back of the head and hang on her ears.

We love that we can set and lock the volume so she cannot turn it up too high.

My husband also has this in a blue newer version and he takes it to work and listens to books on it.

My daughter also has ADD and we use this in noisy restaurants as steady noise agitates her, so this helps us get thru meals.

I highl recommend this for anyone with kids as a first mp3 player!!!!
...

This little gizmo is the one item I have to have with me everyday. I use it to take my music and my podcasts with me everywhere I go no matter where I am. It changes boredom on the treadmill to quality time with music or time spend listening to great podcasts, like NPR. The sound qualaity is unbelievable. I have heard things that I never knew were on the records (Ringo drumming) It's so tiny that you can stick it in your pocket. I have actually put two through the washer so I hope the next one Apple makes is completely waterproof. I had to get my teenagers to show me how to use this but I can program everything now and I love it. I always make sure I have one of my ipods with me, unless I have just washed it (again!)
...

I love the Ipod shuffle (2gb) it hold just enough for me and the battery last for 5-6 hours. I got it not long ago and have used for several reason the music and blocking out other people talking. I use it on long flights and the battery last very long. The only problem with this is there is no it screen but I deal with it. I really advise people to get this because there is no worry about getting the screen cracked.
...

I received this as a gift, after my Ipod mini was stolen. One great thing about this electronic device, is it does not stand out - I mean it doesn't catch a thief's eye as easily as a regular Ipod with a screen. I keep it on my keychain and hook it up in my car as well. I can play 240 songs, which is sufficient for me because I never listen to more than that in one day anyway, so there's just enough variety of music. I'll add a few new ones and remove some songs I'm bored with as I go. The shuffle doesn't take very long to charge but it also does not last more than a week, I'd say, before needing to be recharged again. This little device packs a punch for features - just that it plays over 240 songs and that it is so small. You can play songs in order or shuffle them. You can preset the playlist according to genre, alphabetically by artist name or song name, on your computer. So there is flexibility there. I will switch back and forth from shuffling songs, once I've found the genre I like....
...

oliver says "nice hardware, software is annoying" about Apple - iPod Shuffle Second Gen. Silver (1 GB) MP3 Player

I wanted a cheap(ish) throw-away mp3 player that I wouldn't be devastated if I lost it or it got damaged. The iPod shuffle seemed a good fit.

I'm very happy about three specific aspects of the iPod

First is the sound quality. It was so much better than what I was hearing from my old mp3 player. Even with the supposedly cheap earphones that come with it, it sounded better than my other player with the expensive headphones.

The second thing I really love is the charge. I routinely get 8 to 10 hours of listening before recharging is necessary. That is great for those long commutes to work on the bus.

Finally, I like that it remembers how far into a song you have played. I have a couple of audio-books that would be a real pain to have to start again every time I switched to them

The only flaw is iTunes and it's limitation of only syncing to one computer at a time. The only music I have is stuff I've ripped myself so I wish there was a way to differentiate between 'purchased'...
...

I love my IPOD shuffle because it is a perfect fit for what I need an MP3 player for. I use it when I workout, layout, or when I need a little distraction from other noises going on in the room. Its so small and convenient that I can keep it in my purse at all times and pull it out when I need it. I have a constant playlist on my Itunes that I keep adding to and randomly fill my shuffle each time I charge it so that I get a different selection of music all the time. It was a gift, so I cant comment positively/negatively on the price...but they are definitely affordable for anyone looking to buy one. They dont do anything other than play music (either in order or in shuffled), but thats why I like it. A simple piece that does what it should. I like the clip on the back so that I always have a place to attach it. It is great for workouts...practically weighless and stays out of the way.
...

i am doing a review on the second generation silver ipod shuffle. i actually just got this as a gift. i have an ipod nano, and i was just wondering what the difference was between the nano and the shuffle is. really there is no difference, except, you cant see what song is playing, and on this shuffle, the music is just continious. i gave this one to a friend of mine though, and he truely loves it. you can have up to 2000 songs on it, and the colors are even cool to. with 1Gb you really cant go wrong with this little thing. it is a very compact mp3 player. you can clip it onto your clothes and just go anywhere with it. the shuffle is convenient, and if you are a msic lover like me, you can program all your favorite songs on it and listen to all them anytime. i would recommend this ipod shuffle second generation to anyone who wants some discrete and easy to use. i give it a 5 stars out of 5.
...

I've had my iPod shuffle for about a year and absolutely love it! Its perfect size allows me to run or ride a bike without having to worry about holding it or dropping it. The amount of space is just right for about 250 songs, which is more than enough for a 2 hour workout! I can workout for about 5 days and not have to charge it. Purchased the skull candy ear buds and they work perfect!
...

So I've been using my ipod shuffle for long enough that I feel like I can write a pretty darn good review of it. Let me start by simply saying that while I love new technology and always want the newest gadgets available, I somehow live by the quote "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This can cause some problems...

Before I got the ipod shuffle I had the first generation ipod. I used that thing until one day it died a horrible death and needed to be replaced (should have been loooong ago..). Then I moved to Chicago last year and opened up a Chase bank account and they gave me a free ipod shuffle! This was good and bad. It was good because I now had a new "ipod" for free. It was bad because this was now going to be my "good enough" ipod. So I've been using this for almost a year and can tell you a thing or two about it.

Let me start with some pros: 1) It can hold a charge for weeks at a time which is great. 2) It hold enough music to satisfy any taste at any time. 3) It's...
...

I love my ipod shuffle, it's light weight & small. It's easy to use, my 4 year old son can listen to it when we go on car trips. Considering getting him his own for Christmas. It holds 500 songs, which is truly plenty. Itunes is a great music medium. My 11 year old daughter also has a shuffle and loves it....

This is a great mp3 player for exercise or if you don't have a whole lot of music. It holds enough music to keep you going for quite a while, and the battery lasts for a long time. I've been very pleased, and I plan to buy one for a Christmas present. Now that the price has come down, they're very affordable and the best value out there. I would definitely recommend this for anyone!
...
