Having been a PC user my entire corporate career, and living through the hell of viruses, malware, hardware crashes, computer glitches, software updates to fix releases that in my opinion were released before thorough testing.... I purchased an Apple IMAC for my home use. THIS IS THE BEST PRODUCT I have used. The IMAC is cool and sleek, was a breeze to set up, and easy enough that my non-computer husband is now searching the web without my help! I have had IBM Think Pads, Dell, Toshiba, and Compaq computers and will never go back to a PC. If you are considering a computer, seriously look at Apple.
...

After getting virus after virus on my pc, I traded them in for a imac. That was the best decision I have ever made. Not only does this computer not get any viruses, but it updates itself. Not only is this a great computer, but we actually have a local store to go to if any problems arise. Do not hesitate when it comes to the Mac....Mac's cost more but they are worth it....

For my personal and professional computer needs I have always relied on Apple products. I need a computer that displays accurate colors, applications that are easy to learn and an operating system that can handle the demands of multiple applications running at full tilt. It doesn't hurt that Apple products are on the cutting edge of design and innovation. For the last 5 years my iMac has served faithfully, constantly on the internet, and processing my demands. Any technical support I may have required was easily found on line, and the computer occasionally informs me of OS and application upgrades. The iMac may cost more than boxy PCs, but in the long run is a more economical and stable machine. It also comes with more usable applications that are fun to use and makes the everyday person feel better about their computer abilities. Heck, it even made me feel like a budding Spielberg or Clapton, enhancing my creative side. All in all, I've always recommended an Apple computer without reservation....
...

I never owned a mac until Microsoft came out with Vista. I upgraded my 2 computers to Vista, but Microsoft neglected to tell people that they needed more memory to run a computer with vista so that was a disaster. I then sold those to computers and replaced them with a new desktop and laptop Microsoft Vista computer well that turned out to be a disaster as well they were horribly slow and very ineffective. I went to the store and saw the Apple Computers in the corner and fooled around with them, I never touched one before that day. I spoke to the salesman and he told me about the apple Imac and I said it was expensive he said it was worth the price I told him I would think about it. Well 2 hours later I bought a 20 Inch Imac and the 999.00 Laptop both Apples. I took the Imac out of the box and did not even know how to turn it on I called the salesman he told me to press the power button on the back and I would be working on it in no time at all. Well I did and with in five...
...

I bought my iMac new from an accredited reseller in Fort Wayne Indiana. I keep it running 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This machine has never let me down. I have been able to install Windows XP via Apple's Boot Camp software, then I purchased Parallels which allows me to run both operating systems side by side. I use the Mac side for all of my personal needs and the Windows side for certain business applications that require the windows operating system.

Upgrades to the Macintosh operating system are as easy as pie, simply check the control panel for important software updates and you are good to go. Adding additional RAM to the iMac was also a very easy task and the RAM was interchangeable with my laptop computer.

Visitors are "wowed" by the ease of use of this machine and often state that they wish they had purchase a similar Apple Computer. I have been using Apple Computers since 1991 and this particular machine is my overall favorite. My next computer will be the latest iMac model...
...

The Apple Imac 20 inch is a great computer, but it is definitely not for everyone. I would mostly recommend it for people who are either space conscious or just want their computer to look good. The Mac OS X is a great operating system, but somewhat limited in software availability. The first decision before looking at this computer is if you actually want a Mac or Windows. If you do decide you want a Mac, then this is probably the best model. It is expensive, but it has a great 20 inch screen, with built in speakers, microphone and webcam. It also includes Bluetooth and Wifi, something unusual in a desktop computer. It also has a IR remote control for media. You get one less step setting it up since there is no external monitor to connect (although you can add an extra one later). It can run Windows if you need it, either through Boot Camp (included) or using external Virtual Machine software (greatly recommended, even though you'll need at least 3 Gb of RAM to get good performance).

I love the iMac 20" desktop computer. It is the best investment my family and I have made. It is worth every penny. The iMac is equipped with everything you need out of the box. Really, the only productivity software you would need to purchase and install (if you haven't ordered it pre-installed) is your word processing and spreadsheet programs. In the long run, you will save money on all the different software, etc. you would have to buy for PC's. I've had this iMac for about a year and a half and it seems like I just bought it yesterday. It starts up quickly and all of my programs run smooth.
...

I have had the same 20" iMac for approximately one year. Where to begin? I had always used Windows before getting this computer, but I had had so many problems both with Windows, and the computers that I had run it on, that I wanted to make a switch.

At the time, I was working towards a graduate degree, so one of the biggest requirements for me was that it would be able to run the software that I needed for my degree: MATLAB, Microsoft Office, plus the usual email. I also wanted to have my music and budget software for personal use, and a couple of games thrown in the mix.

Virtually every program I have wanted to run has been available to use on Apple OSX, which performs brilliantly. In a year of use, I think it has frozen twice, both times after being left on for weeks (I use "sleep" mode at night). My HP laptop would freeze nearly daily in contrast. The only negative issue I have had was a faulty DVD/CD-RW drive, but that was replaced under warranty at no cost to me.

The compact...
...

Why Graphic Designer Students Should Consider an IMac

I am a Graphic Designer and a student at Kent State University, majoring in Visual Communication Design with an emphasis in 2D design. While I love illustration and design I also love to create web pages and I need a good computer to do all of these.

When I wanted to update my computer in order to have a faster processor and bigger hard drive, I looked at all the models available at my nearest Apple Store. Since the School of Visual Communication Design uses only Macs, it only made sense to stick with the same operating system for my personal use.

The towers are awesome with fast processors and plenty of hard drive storage space. The Apple monitors are brilliant, clear and have a high enough screen resolution working with graphics is a pleasure. These come with plenty of USB ports, several on the back and one on the front for convenience. They also have firewire ports to attach fast external hard drives for automatic back up that...
...

I'll be the first to admit that I know almost nothing about computers. I do, however, use them all the time - for research, typing school papers, making PowerPoints, Facebook, and checking my e-mail. Growing up, I only had PCs, and was constantly frustrated by how slow they were and how hard to use. Now we finally got two iMacs at home and I absolutely love them! You never have to wait for anything and they don't crash if you open multiple tabs on the internet browser like our old PC. This computer has literally NEVER given me any trouble at all. Not only that, but they are remarkably easy to use. All of the applications are easily accessible in the bar at the bottom of the screen. The one thing that took some getting used to was having to click "Macintosh HD" to open my documents instead of clicking "Programs" and going to open. That's an easy adjustment though.

The one problem I have with this computer is that the screen is absolutely gigantic. When it is sitting a foot away from you...
...
