I have been an Apple fan since the first iMac came out, and they just keep getting better and better. I would certainly miss it if it suddenly disappeared. I have never had a bit of trouble with it and the newest one is more than 'top of the line' in my books.

I see the newest ones being offered and look forward to getting one of them, but have not used this one up yet, and cannot see that happening in the very near future.
...

starbuck123456789 says "Wish I would have switched over YEARS ago!" about Apple iMac Desktop Computer

I bought my iMac almost two years ago now, and I almost fogot about how I used to yell at my PC on a daily basis until I went to visit my parents who recently bought a new PC. After waiting for the thing to start up all my bad memories of PC usage came back. So I am happy to say I'm now back home LOVING my iMac every minute I use it! On the Mac my favorite things to do are editing pictues and vidoe clips. I love that all programs are compatiable and you can just click and drage image of clips to different programs. There is no need to do the import feature like for windows programs and no need to save files as different versions. I also like how fast it is to brows online, I dont have to wait for every site to load like i had to do with internet explorer. My computer starts up very quick and I do not have to worry about all the junk out there because bad programs are very rarely mad for Mac computers.
...

tk410158 says "iMac, where have you been all my computing life?" about Apple iMac Desktop Computer

Yes, I used to be anti-Apple. Yes, I used to not understand the big deal about Macs. Yes, I used to think Apple products were more fluff than regular PCs. Things change.

I got my iMac for my birthday in January 09 (thanks to my sweet and extravagant wife). Just when I was feeling pretty competent with Windows XP, I faced learning about operating my Apple iMac All-in-One 24" desktop computer and about using Mac OS 10.5.8.

Things worked differently on the Apple iMac All-n-One 24" desktop computer, but learning how to use the iMac was pretty easy. I quickly grew to love working on it.

The monitor is large, the display is sharp, the colors vivid.

The processor seems extremely fast.

Memory size is equal to the Library of Congress and the Library of Alexandria (ancient Alexandria, that is, as in 'Seven Wonders of the Ancient World'). Well, it's not that capacious, but at 300 GB (give or take a few MBs), it's way beyond enough.

Ease of use--great. Easy enough for a nearly 59-year-old...
...

I have always been a faithful pc user, but after having 3 pcs crash on in me within 7 years, I decided to give apple a chance. This computer is awesome! It does so much more and is much easier to maitain and use. Plus it looks great and takes up very little space. I cant believe how much money I have saved not having to purchase virus protectors since it updates for free and on its own! I will never purchase a pc again! The mac was the same price and will last longer than any pc. The photo lab is amazing because it downloads on its own. All you do is plug any device in to the keyboard and it does all the work. No more downloading software and fighting with it to work. It is compatible with every device we have tried. Also love the ease of being able to work on numerous projects at once and not have to worry about going on and offline or opening and closing windows. The internet browser is much faster and easier to use than the pc version I had. I would highly recommend...
...

This review is intended mainly for PC users who are new to the Mac. I'm not a huge computer person, I've always had PCs, and frankly I've always thought Macs were for hippies with ponytails. I pretty much have to use a PC for my job functions, but over the last few years I've been underwhelmed by both my home and work desktop (both dells) and my home notebook (HP). I'm fed up with the windows BS - freezing for no reason, slowing down for no reason, taking forever to shutdown/startup, constantly nagging to update virus software etc. I'm ok putting up with this for my work PC, but when it was time to replace my home desktop I decided to take a look at the Mac. I'm glad I did. I went with the 2.66ghz iMac with 24" monitor and 640gig HD.

First Impressions: Coming from a Dell, the iMac was pretty damn impressive right out of the box. The single box was smaller than I expected, and Amazon packed it pretty good (important because Amazon has dropped the ball on this before on other items). The...
...

I really enjoy my new iMac 24" all in one desk top. I have been an Apple user for over 10 years. I bought this one use almost a year ago with no failures and no bugs to worry about. I enjoy the ease of use and the basic application are great. I have used iTunes alot, and enjoy listening to the radio stations for free. I am using the standard speakers that are built in the system. I have only add Open Office on the system currently and it is functioning perfectly.
...

I have used Apple computers in business and at home and now have a 2 yr. old IMac, dual processor. I have also had the opportunity to compare/use PCs for graphic design as well as personal use. Just to find "help" needed when searching for information was cumbersome on PCs and took too much time. It is so much faster and easier on my Mac and there are many places to type in to "search" for what you are looking for. I have just started using the voice commands feature and love it! Mac computers are by far superior in many ways than PCs. The most beneficial way, especially being a graphic designer for many years, is how much easier and user friendly Macs are. The design and ease of use has always been a priority with Apple as well as the working of the OS. For me, everything needed is upfront. I found with PCs I had to keep searching to do a simple task, ex: partial screen capture. Apple gives you all the icons/tools upfront on your desktop if you place them there, in a bar and usually with...
...

I recieved this IMAC G3 ALL-IN-ONE desktop from an ad that I had came across while surfing the net on craigslist. One of my favorite sites to go through daily. I picked it up and brought it home.Right away I plug it in and started checking it out. This was the first time that I had ever used a Apple. It was to say the least very confuseing for me but I was able to figure out the basics through the help menu active talk program. I still have alot to learn. I have been trying to find out more info on the design and user manual and havn't been able to find any info via the web even through the apple website. They dont seen to have what I am looking for as far troubleshooting the system to find out how to repair a few errors that I have run into. Such as cd-rom failure and missing programs. As for now the search continues. So if you are looking into a Apple computer make sure to look at all the possible outcomes of owning one make sure that it is the product that is right for you.
...

People say they are not 'Geeky' enough for a Mac, I didn't think I was, as I just do email, survey's and read newspapers from around the world.

When I had Windows, one day it would work, then the next day, some glitch would not allow me access to anything. Also I would have problems finding files on Windows, one day I could attach something to an email, the next day, it wouldn't go. The crowning glory was some 'virus' invaded my last computer, and wiped out everything, including the Windows operating system!

To say nothing of the numerous pictures of my grandkids that I had on there.

I have not had ONE problem with this Mac, every day, it just works!
