I can tell you from personal experience that Ameriprise Advisors...at least the first two I had, will string you along and gain your confidence. But when they feel they have your trust, they will have you get something called a Variable Universal Life Insurance Policy and make everything out to look like your dream come true. And yes, they are not stupid. Amerprise is a genius company at getting the client to sign up and no matter what was shown to you or spoken to you, it won't matter because they cover all their bases in the way of basically you sign your life away. The only way to come out ahead is to die with the policy in the early going.... I've been trapped in this situation for 11 years and have lost about half my principal and of course, I've lost 11 years of inflation/interest/my life! I've dealt with the company and they pretend it was all my fault. There are so many restrictions and rules and timelines that I am out of luck. I am better off DEAD.

Ameriprise insurance is the best insurance I have ever had, hands down. First, their prices are competitvely priced. Second, their customer service is exceptional. Finally, they offer insurance for domestic partners. I have had car, home and renter's insurance through Ameriprise for the past 10 years and have had to file several auto claims. Their service has been FAST, efficient and professional. Finally, they offer additional discounts when you have multiple policies with them, which decreases your price. I would recommend that anyone at least contact Ameriprise for a price quote if looking for auto, home or renter's insurance, it will be well worth the call.

There is a long story associated with Ameriprise and my family. We had a personal financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial, and we were using this guy for many many years.

They do offer great customer service and help with your financial planning when you are with them, but when the time comes for you to pull the money out and actually retire... the whole story changes. This is what happened to my family. My dad personally wanted to now start taking payments from his program since he is 64 years of age and so I assume we had to make aphone call and some paperwork.

Well the paperwork was extremely abundant and it was very hard to fill out. When time came to actually fill out the forms, the agent we had was of no help what-so-ever. If anything, he was calling us to see if there were problems and that he left the intent that he would not want us to pull the money. He wanted us to see if it was possible to wait longer.

Overall, the experience with saving money with Ameriprise...

Once upon a time, I had a wad of cash that I needed to invest. At the time, I was at an American Express investment office and the agent talked me into a life insurance policy that offers whole life with an investment portfolio that will help to inflate the life insurance policy. For about 125 a quarter, this policy ensured that my heirs would have 100k of benifits. Good deal I figured so I signed up. Time passed and now that policy is part of the Ameripise system. I am still happy with the policy, as it gives me peace of mind should something happen to me. I know that my wife will have some dollars to work with. Online access is a breeze. Just log in, see your current account status, pay your bill, or make change to your benificary(ies). Had to be medically underwritten, but that just was the signing of a couple papers to let them access your medical records and then a ten minute phone interview....

I was trying to buy the auto insurance online, but it needed more info, I can't go any further online. So I called and found out later I can't purchase the policy over the phone, they can fax me empty application or pre-printed application( with info I provided on the phone ) in the mail. I waited 7 business days, nothing from them in the mail. I gave up on the pre-printed application and filled out the fax application. I hope after 3 times trying to finish the application( online, over the phone, fax ) it's worth my attempt to save some money!! I have never worked so hard to switch!!
The sales dept doesn't open on Sundays!!

AMazing i highly reccomend ameriprise for all needs!!! Its a great insurance company for everyone. Pleae try it out. I would reccommend them to all of my friends near and far. Even my relatives in higher places could benefit from ameriprise its just that good...

Life insurance was at least half of what all seven other companies I tried to get $500,000 life insurance from. THey were the best service also. and Riversource is OVER 100% SOLVENT AND IS IN THE TOP 15 ON THE RATINGS BOARDS... LIFE AND AUTO HAVE THE BEST PRICING OF ANYONE... AND i mean anyone... I checked all, yes ALL other ones available in UTAH...

Ameriprise has been great, we switched from Allstate and saved almost $1000 for the year in Orlando. Their claims department is great in being helpful too. Because we found them through Costco's program, we can never be cancelled due to accidents or tickets. I have recommended them for price and service to everyone I know....

I have insured my car with Ameriprise since last 1 year and half. And after every 6 months they re -evaluate the pricing option and reduce the price of insuurance and now i pay only 500 for 6 months. One of my friend also has ameriprise only, He did a big accident and car got crashed totally, and ameriprise reimbursed the total price of car within 2 weeks time.
Amazing service i must say. And they are very approachable....

Ameriprise was by far the cheapest homeowners/auto policy for us. We were with state farm and signed up with Ameriprise through their Costco membership deal (which saves you roughly 10% additional)....
