American Idol has remained on the top of the charts since it began airing several years ago. Personally I think it is a very entertaining program. The beginning auditions are unreal. Thousands come to be a part of the action trying to make it to Hollywood. The thing I will never understand is how half those contestants got the nerve to audition they must be tone deaf and delusional. The actual competition is enhanced by the wonderful set of judges all of whom are unique and entertaining. Paula Abdul will be sadly missed. She was so supportive and thoughtful in all her comments and never had a bad thing to say to anyone. And of course there's Simon who is rude as hell and never considers that the contestants actually have feelings he is sometimes so harsh. The caliber of competition I feel has improved over the years and the show has in time produced some very successful recording artists to this day. However seldom do I agree with the judges decisions or the final outcome...

American Idol has created some amazing stars and some of them didn't even finish in the number 1 or number 2 spots. The beginning when all types of people try out and the ones that are horrible but think they can sing is so funny!! Kelly Clarkson ws the first to come out of this show and she was an instant success. Carrie Underwood came along and evryone loved the girl from Oklahoma. Chris Daughtery has estblished a great career from the show also. The judges help make it what it is.. I can't wait each year for it to come back on .

I started watching American Idol the year Fantasia Barrino won, and at first I wasn't really into it.

Now, I'm hooked.

The season starts with auditions that range from comical to breath taking to a little bit creepy. Automatically, you should be able to tell who will go far, and, at a glance, who won' t even make it to the first round.

The next round is Hollywood week, the most stressful of all. The aspiring singers have to sing in front of the judges and their potential competition, sometimes in groups, which always leads to a good fight or two.

After this, there is the "chair" episode. Contestants have to be narrowed down to the top 36. So, they will make the long walk to a chair that sits in front of the judges, and await their fate.

After this, voting starts. The judges now have no say, America chooses.

This year, there was a Wild Card round, where everyone voted off has a chance to come back, but the judges choose who gets through.

American Idol is great. We have found some really great talent from this show. I think that this season has some very talented people whereas some of the prior years didn't. My favorite this year is Adam Lambert. Not one contestant compares to him. I have watched every year of idol and look forward to who's going to stay in the competition from week to week. There have been some years that I thought people were voted out too early, especially in the case of Chris Daugthery. His voice went right through me. But I keep watching every year regardless of who has won each year. We have had some great winners, too.

Does anybody notice that all of a sudden you get 15 mins of show and the rest tv commercial. I really like the show but this is getting out of control. Last nite there was so many ads I was ready to throw the tv out the window. One of the few good shows on tv and they have to ruin it tell ya what next year they can count me out becuase i have a life and got better things to do than wacting some dumb ad about a man tryin to get a hard on. hahah These advertisers have taken over the tv and now are computors and people fall for it it really is sad. What I say is STOP BUYING THEIR JUNK. keep what little money you have and enjoy life go out and spend time doing the little things in lfe that make you happy.

American Idol to me is the best platform for unknown talent to show what they can do. Even though the judges get on my nerves at times, it still is one of the most entertaining Talent Show on television.

I like the fact that they have guest musicians as the mentors for the new talent. It is just another way you get entertained. I also like the way they have different Musical Genre Week. I think this helps the new talent to stretch their wings!

As far as the judges go, I really like Randy, I like Paula, and I even like Simon, except when he is so mean to people. I do NOT however like the new Kara. There is just something about her. I think she leans toward the vain side. I guess she kinda reminds me of what Simon would be as a female!

Overall this show has tuned out some really awesome talent over the years. And Ryan Seacrest isn't hard to look at either! Lol!

Oh and the most important thing........GO ADAM LAMBERT!! YOU ARE THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL!!!!

I am a very avid american idol watcher. And I was sad this year as I did not get into the show at all, and they said this season was the best season that they have ever had. Which I def beg to differe with. In all of the past seasons I would not miss an episode, and I even have a DVR and have not even cared to record it while I'm gone. I love this show and I hope that next season is a lot better than this one....

Well I have been watching this show for years and it never fails to be entertaining. True, some contestants are more talented than others and some are more interesting but that is what makes a good contest. Simon can always be counted on for a laugh or two and his opinions are usually right on! The only reality TV show I can watch. Well, maybe So You Think You Can Dance....

american idol is nothing more than i popularity contest where it isnt even based on talent anymore...it is a complete set up and peoplewith real talent have no chance if there is a pretty person that they are competing against. the last show a talented singer was voted off..however she was the best performance of the night... and david a. completly messed up the last line of the song and changed the way it was song when that week you were not susposed to be able to do that did and didnt get repramended for it at all. it make sme so angry that these talented young people dont even have a chance at fame....

American Idol is one of my favorites shows on TV. I have watched American Idol since season 1 and I will keep watching until it isn't on anymore and I can not imagine American Idol never being on.It is the one thing I look forward to after Christmas b/c I know it starts in January.If you are not familiar with it there are 3 judges Simon Cowell who always speaks his mind no matter what it is,Paula Abdul the "nice" judge but always rambles on,And Randy Jackson who is an in between of the other 2.You watch auditions at the beginning to see who goes to Hollywood so you see the best and the worst of singers.Then on to Hollywood week where they figure out your top 24 .Then you get to your final 12 then final 2 and then your Next American Idol is crowned and the best thing is you helped pick it!It is awesome when you get to start voting and when you get to your final 6 they open 2 lines for each contestant. The awesome thing is that every week a song theme is chosen and they have to pick a......

i think american idol is a very show. im glad there are actualyl shows that show the talent this nation has. to me talent is a very important thing so it needs to be exposed. american idol gives many people that opportunity to expose their talent. this show also opens many doors for many people. for example, chris daughtry. he didnt win but wow he is making it far in the music industry!

I absolutly love this show. I am hooked. My kids and I have contests each week as to who will make it and who will stay. We definatly dont miss an episode. Every year the talet keeps getting better and better. Sometimes I agree with the judges and sometimes I don't but every week keeps me a watching....

The show has been a great source of entertainment at our house in the past, but this season just seems to be hard to stay on top of. Perhaps the show has run too long .... or maybe the judges predicatable jargon is getting a little too ... predictable? It's just gotten a little boring. If you've never watched prior seasons, however, you're in for a treat....

Since I started watching Idol 3 years ago,I became an instant fan of it.What I love most about it is that it gives everybody who has a potential in singing to make it in that field of entertainment.It is also amusing to watch especially on elimination because some people seem to just want to see themselve on television ,so even if they know they do not have a chance,they just make fools of themselves.I like the show because it does not discreminate people as long as you have talent you have a chance....
