My daughter asked Santa for a baby doll for Xmas. That was all that she wanted and nothing more. When she got her American Girl bitty baby she was an instant mommy and I was an instant Grandma to baby LEXI (yes, that is what my daugher named her American Girl bitty baby.)

The bitty baby is blond and blue eyed, just like my daughter, and made of sturdy construction. She is also small enough to carry around easily.

Since bitty baby came into our family, bitty baby has been to the movie theater, out to dinner, Xmas dinner, her Great-grandma's house and more. She is a full member of the family now and is with my daughter 24 x 7.

I, (I mean Santa), had originally picked out a baby from Target for $30. But, I have to admit, for $10 more, the American Girl bitty baby was so much nicer. She is actually normal looking with a cute little face and a button nose. Some of the babies look a little demented. But, the American Girl biddy baby is actually pretty cute!!!

Now, if I can just avoid buying the......

Each of my daughters have their own and it's one of their most-played-with toys. They have held up well and we feel were worth the money. We love all the accessories for them too!...

When my daughter first asked for an American Girl I cringed. All I could think about was the cost of the doll. I made a deal with my daughter (then 5) that If I got her a Bitty Baby and she took care of it and played with it, I would consider getting the larger doll in a couple of years.

She has played with her Bitty Baby for the past 2 years. The doll itself has a few scuff marks on her head but otherwise is no worse for the wear. The construction of these dolls is fabulous! They are very sturdy and well constructed. I would definitely recommend these to other parents.

I bought this doll for this daughter when she was 2. She is now 7 and still plays with her. My best friend's daughter is 11 and still adores her Bitty Baby and they play with their dolls together. American Girl offers a Bitty Baby hospital service if your baby is "injured." I also bought the matching outfits when my daughter was younger for some priceless photo's. These are memories I'll have forever. My daughter loves to hold her baby and show her the pictures of her and her baby in matching outfits.
