It works fine for the small stuff I buy when I don't have cash. <br/><br/>I am constantly getting phone calls &amp; paper junk mail requesting I upgrade to a Gold or Platinum or whatever. My question is WHY? <br/><br/>Just so they charge me an extra $100+ a year for an annual fee for services I would never use -so it is pointless. <br/><br/>If you're considering getting an American Express, get the green and stick with it. I've never been impressed by someone pulling out a Gold Card. Nobody is impressed by that so don't bother upgrading unless you have a business account &amp; your work pays for that increased annual fee. <br/><br/>The telemarketers that will call you will actually say ..."Oh,  people will think you're important when you pull out an Amex Gold" NO THEY WON'T..ridiculous. I think most people will just be glad you paid a bill. <br/><br/>Keep in mind, Most businesses are starting to reject American Express. Many stores &amp; restaurants will no longer accept it for payment. That......
