So this credit card, the Hilton HHonors American Express card, sort of has me up in the air about it. Half of the time I think that i should just cancel it, the other half of the time I am glad that I had it. Here's why. The APR has changed, and not just changed but raised without reason (no late payments, never went over limit...), twice on me since I have had the card for the last three years. Paying more interest always just sucks. But the points you get are reasonable and add up pretty quick, and you have different options for the way you earn points which is nice. I've stayed twice in a hotel for free using the points from this card in the last year. A few weeks ago someone broke into my car while my wallet happened to be in there and stole my wallet, including this card. When I got on the phone with american express to cancel the card, they had horrible customer service. They didn't even have my name on recored apparently, or my ss number, even after being with them for years. I had...

I look at a points card in terms of the dollar value of the reward received as a percent of spending necessary to obtain that reward. On this, the Hilton HHonors Platinum Credit Card by American Express is the best that I have found. More on the value towards the bottom.

This is the only credit card that I and my wife use. We both carry other cards, primarily in the event that a vendor does not accept American Express. Other than that rare instance, we don't use any other card.

First, the Hilton family of hotels are one of the truly premium, yet flexible, family of hotels in the world. They own five star properties such as the Waldorf Astoria hotels in NY and London and some beautiful premier Hilton hotels throughout the world. But they also own some very family friendly, affordable hotels such as the Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites. Amex changed the limit and APR just like that even though I was paying regularly. Bad attitude and customer service...

I have had a wonderful experience with this card. Great customer service. The best travel card / tool on the market. Security features fit the bill, never had a problem. The extende features that come with card are worth researching in full, I find something new all the time....

I'm a frequent Hilton stayer, and this credit card has earned me a ton of free nights. I've earned a lot of Hilton honors points by using my credit card for every day purchases such as gas, food, movies and other necessary items. My husband and I travel ALL the time for business and for leisure, and with all my hilton honors points, I've earned free stays....

I use this credit card as my first choice everywhere I go. Some merchants unfortunately don't accept Amex but I am able to use it 95% of the time. They have the most generous points system I have seen. We have not paid for a hotel room in over 5 years and have also given nights for gifts as well. Check it out!...

My husband and I have been using the Hilton HHonors Platinum Credit Card for about 12 months and we love it. Some of the benefits:

Spend 15k in 12 months and get Hilton Gold Status (this means free upgrades, free breakfast, and more reward points when you stay in any Hilton Family Hotel (Hilton, Embassy Suites, Doubletree, Hampton Inn, etc.) -
5 points for dollar on grocery, restaurant, drugstore, gas, cell phone, USPS and Hilton purchases. 3 points per dollar on all other purchases.
A 4 or 5 star Hilton hotel is usually 40k points per night...and if you have the Hilton Amex, you can get 4 nights for 125k points. So for about every 30k you put on your Hilton HHonors Platinum Credit Card you can get 4 nights free stay and free breakfast in some of the nicest hotels in the world.

Amazing how the points keep adding up when using the card.

Even on short notice, we were able to get free rooms using our points when we had to travel to Branson, Missouri from Los Angeles.

The Hilton HHonors customer service helped when tragedy hit our family and provided assistance in finding a place to stay.

American Express customer service has constantly provided great service. When I found I was billed for products not received and in a situation where I was billed twice.they credited my account until all transactions were corrected.
