I have this credit card because we shop at Costco and they offer the 2% cash back bonus. However it takes a ton of spending to get that bonus and they have never offered us any promotional interest rates....

I use American Express Costco Business Credit Card for everything. I use it perticularly for gasoline purchase because I get 5% rebate. With today's economy every cash back penny I get helps me get through my monthly expenses.

If I have to carry only one card this one will be the card.

I use my card and pay it off. I like to use this card for travelling, because of the benefits. The last time I traveled with my card, I came home to find out that had my trip cost an extra $16, they would have slapped me with an over the limit fee because they lowered my limit SIGNIFICANTLY. I called and spoke to 6 different people. No one could give me a reason other than they are reviewing everyone's accounts and lowering limits wherever they could. I told them that was ridiculous the way I was notified (I actually found out when I went on their website to pay my bill, BEFORE I received anything in writing). They told me they mailed out the letter on Sunday, and that was all they needed to do. I am keeping my card until I get my rebate in February and then I am cancelling it. I am not going to let AMEX play games with my credit.

I have had my Costco Amex card for about 2 years. I like that I get at least 1% back on any purchase anywhere. I pay it off every month, so the interest rate doesn't really phase me. I can get 3% back on Costco gas, or 5% back on Costco gas with the Costco business card. They are always cheaper than anywhere else too on gas.
I have a Discover Card too, but you have to have so much in purchases before they will even give you 1% back. I use my Amex anywhere I can. Most places take it. Occasionaly I will find a business that won't. In that case I pay cash or use another card.
Works for me!

I have been with A/X for over 10 years. I have never been late on a payment and have not had any changes in my credit history or job in recent years. I never carry debt with them to next month. Always pay the balance in full every month.
I recieved a letter from A/X stating that they have dropped my limit from $12k to $500!
Fortunately for me I could care less, since I only used american express in coscto. But I can see how this could really dampen someone's mood.
I know times are tough and the credit crunch is on. But this type of credit yanking is an insult. If American express thinks this will help their buttom line they are in for a rude awakening when ticked off customers leave their cards at home when they go shopping.
I know some people say, well ameican express never made any money off of you because you pay in full every month. But thats not true. I spent an average of 2k a month with them. So they get the 3% merchant fee form the sellers. But guess what, now that they have lowered......

The rewards on this card are great. 3% for dining 2% for travel ans 1% on everything else like all Costco purchases department stores and supermarkets. Now amex is even giving rewards on gas. These rewards are accumulated and you get a check attached to your Feb statement which you can only cash at Costco but you can also use it like a coupon at the register....

We live in a rapidly expanding area where more and more businesses are springing up every week. When the Costco opened less than five minutes from our home, we were already Sam's Club members, but we decided to join there as well since they were including a gas station with the new Costco. When told we qualified for the AmEx Costco card we accepted since we did not have a credit applied ot our Sam's Club membership. We have really enjoyed the cash back on the AmEx card and we have really enjoyed the newer rewards of 3% on the gas at Costco - they are usually a few cents cheaper and the pennies back on every dollar spent using the card has made us a charge-it-on-AmEx, pay it off each month family. We reap the rewards of having good credit, getting a major refund once a year and enjoying the "prestige" of being a card member. It has worked beautifully for us. The only drawback is that everyone will not take the card - we sometimes cannot get the rewards because certain establishments......

I have used many different cards over the years and I am always looking for the best return on the cards. I have frequent flyer cards(to hard to get the dates I need) I have free flights, no blackouts and can't book that far in advance and can never use them around the holidays without paying extra out of pocket(they have a monetary value). The Costco AX gives you 1percent on everything,2 percent on Travel and 3 percent on dining out and I do a lot of all of these things. At the same time each year (mine is February) AX applies that amount as a credit to you card and you can request a check back or just charge that much for free. Every month on your statement it calculates how much your rebate is currently. This you can easily cross reference with your statement to be sure the amount is correct.(It always has been)....

The Costco American express is an excellent card for individuals who like to use their credit cards to build their credit and pay the balance off at the end of the month. It offers cash back rewards not only on purchases made at Costco but on dining, travel, and other shopping expenditures. This shopper notes that American Express is beginning to be accepted at more and more retail establishments than in the past and its cash back bonus is higher than other cards that offer cash back (such as Discover). My only complaint is that it does not offer and special interest rate for individuals with good credit and its interest rate is pretty high at 17%. Me and my fiance tend to pay our balances off in full at the end of the month so this card works really well for us. We have earned $50 cash back after only a couple of months of using the card. Overall, we are very pleased with this particular credit card.
