We have had Alltel for about four months now. We have the family plan and that allows us to speak with each other and other Alltel users, without using up our minutes. Last month we received a notice telling us that Alltel has now joined up with Verison. Now we can also call Version users free, which is a plus as we do have many friends with Verison. We had Verision last time, and after that went to Trac phone. We were not too happy with Trac Phone as we were always using up our minutes. Being we had friends that were happy with Alltel we decided to try them too. When we had Verison we were not happy with their customer service and after our two year contract ended left them. I only hope that with Verison taking over Alltel that the customer service does not go downhill, as we have a two year contract. Your first bill with Alltel may be a bit of a shock, as it has more than one month on it. I wish the texting was free, but if you or a member of of your family text message...

Alltel rocks, they are inexpensive and despite sometime long wait time on customer service I guess it's because everyone loves u alltel...

Alltel is pretty good for the fees they charge. It tends to help having the My Circle, because you don't use as many "off peak" minutes. The only issues I have with their service is that there are some hills, valleys, and inside building pick up problems. I do find that their plan rates tend to be cheaper than even verizon, who owns them. Go figure! I have been an Alltel customer for over 8 years and will remain one. Check them out before you go for the "quick sell" and "seems too good to be true" competitors.

After dealing with the fiasco that is Verizon, I switched to Alltel because I head that they had good rural service. That rumor has proved to be true as I can make cell phone calls from my basement now.

In NE Ohio, I strongly recommend Alltel as the service is good everywhere, the rates are slighly less than other main players, and I have never had a problem with customer service (they even let me attach a prepaid phone to the contract to replace my brother's broken one, saving me a small fortune in phone costs).

I have been a customer with a few different companies when it comes to cell phones. My favorite is Altell. I have always had helpful service from the sales reps and the technical support. The prices are reasonable and the rebates are great--it takes forever to get them, but they are worth the wait. The packages on minutes, texting and Internet are a good value for the service provided. I love the MyCircle. I have relatives all over the country and I have added their phone numbers to MyCircle to make calling even more reasonable. I've been a customer with Altell for over 4 years and I've never had a dropped call. I can't say the same for some other service providers. I don't think I'll be changing wireless providers anytime soon!

my sister and her family have alltel phones. it is very annoying talking to her when she's on the cell because she will "disappear" so often in the middle of our conversations.

I've been with Alltel for over two years and have received nothing but horrible customer service through out the two years. I began my plan with two phone lines, paying easily over 150.xx - 200.xx per month for both. Due to not traveling as much, I attempted to lower my monthly payment by modifying my plan from a nationwide plan to a so called "regional plan". When speaking to the Alltel rep, he offered little to no options when making this adjustment and could only guarantee a 10 - 20 dollar decrease per month on my bill once the adjustments posted to my account. I continued my service with Alltel through the beginning of this year when my contract expired in January. I ATTEMPTED to remove one of the phone lines from my plan and was told by an agent that this phone line had been removed. The following month I noticed that this had not been done and that I was still being charged for this line. I ATTEMPTED to contact Alltel for the second time to remove this line. Once again,......

so i left verizon and switched to alltel, and glad i did, coverage is excellent in town and out in the country areas, never drop calls, plans are very good, they give you a lot for very reasonable prices, like my circle, and they give you more anytime minutes, this is why i switched to alltel from verizon, for example, verizon connect plan, 450 anytime mins, unlimited night and weekends and mobile to mobile, unlimited messaging, unlimited web and email for 69.99 a month...alltel national plan, 750 anytime mins, 5 unlimited my circle numbers, unlimited night and weekends, unlimited mobile to mobile, unlimited text, pics, and vids, unlimited web and data minutes, for 69.99 a month, alltel gives a lot better deal, with a lot better coverage and service. i would recommend alltel over verizon anyday. so here is my review...

I did not like my experience with alltel at all. They will try to over charge you for everything to try to make more money off of you. Our first bill they tried to charge us separte for both phone so the 2nd was $79 in stead of $10 them we fixed in next month my bill had all charges instead of nights and weekends free, we fixed it then they tried to charge us for roaming when we had unlimited in usa. So finally we cut the phones off and now they are tring to charge us $200 per phone instead of $200 for terminating the contract. I would not recommend them to anyone. In fact I tell people who are thinking about them what they really do....

I have been with alltel for several years now. I have their prepaid plan which works out so perfect for me. No monthly contracts! I've had two phones with them so the phones are good. Never a real problem with service. I've only had to call them once to see about local coverage. The alltel stores have great customer service as well! No cpmplaints!...

ALLTEL

I have had service with Alltel for over ten years. My phone was getting where i couldn`t here it anymore. I though it might need a new battery.This was in June 2006. They said" no we don`t make batteries for that phone anymore".So of course that meant a new phone! So of course that meant a new contract! and a new phone number!!!!!!! Since that time I have had no service at my home,or in side the trailer park, even though we are less than 1 mile from the tower. My brother had the same phone and his number worked. I changed phones twice, and payed for it and had to renew the contract each time also. I asked them several times to change the number but they refused. Now i am just waiting for sept so i can quit them.I have been paying $80.00 a month for 2 1/2 years for nothing.

I am one of those people you would consider to be a textaholic so when I saw that Alltel had a plan that would allow me to send and recieve unlimited text and picture text messages along with unlimited access to the internet for the low price of $19.99 I jumped all over it. I recieved a new phone (Motorola Rckr which I love) when I started my plan up in January 2008. Well when they say its to good to be true they are right because I have been in to the store, and on the phone with there tech support at least once a week since I have started. I cannot send picture messages and regular text messages don't always go through either. I often hear of picture messages that I have not recieved as well. If I got 55 miles away from my hometown my phone quits working all together, even tho my service plan includes 4 states surronding mine. I was told it was a problem with my pone so they gave me another new one (only 2 months after I bought my original). I started having the same problems...

We used to have Alltel when we lived in WV. Then we moved to IN and was always roaming. IN didn't even have a retail store in the state, and we had just bought a new phone that needed replaced.

Anyway in order to keep service we would have to upgrade to an expensive plan. If not they would charge us $200 per phone (x 2) disconnect because we "signed a contract" yet they don't keep a copy of that contract? WTH?

So they can't prove it, yet we still have to pay it. They wouldn't let us out of it, still charged us the $400! On top of that, it took more then 6 months to get my phone back because they lost ours!

BOO Alltel!

I have been an Alltel customer for several years and have very few complaints. The only major complaint is that i have no signal service in my home--but I live in a valley where very few people get signal. I have never had a problem with their phones or their services. Their plans are very budget friendly and their sales & customer service staff have always been great!!
