I honestly thought I was going to hate this show. I'm pretty picky, especially with comedies, but I figured the concept was somewhat different so I would check it out.

By the end of the first episode I was completely hooked and have to say that any preconceived notions I may have had were eradicated by the third episode.

Who would think the spawn of the married UPN and WB would produce a relevant TV show that provides laughter, insight and a little lesson about life, diversity and understanding.

That said, if the writer's strike kills 'Aliens in America', there's going to be some very peeved, loyal fans.

It is a shame that just as the show was hitting it's stride by episode 13, the well ran dry. I think anyone who loves this show is eagerly awaiting its return. And I think they sincerely hope that the forced hiatus doesn't allow one of these awful "reality" shows to sink one the few intelligent shows produced for the 2007 season....

This show is about an exchange student from Pakistan who comes to live with Justin and his family in Wisconsin. It's mostly about Justin's high school experience (he's the nerdy one with two equally nerdy friends). Although the show is really funny, it also attempts to teach the audience something in the end, usually about tolerance, love, etc....

OuttaLeftField says "You're missing a good one" about Aliens in America

"Aliens in America" is a new show on the CW. It follows "Everybody Hates Chris" (another very funny show inspired by Chris Rock) on Monday nights. I really recommend this one. The title doesn't help much. I originally thought it was sci-fi or something and based on the title alone, had no desire to even tune in and sample an episode at the start of the new season. I would have missed a winner. It's about an American family that takes in an Indian exchange student to interact with their own two high school aged children. The writing is priceless, the acting is terrific and it's a smart and inventive show. The only episode I missed so far is one where my VCR malfunctioned (or maybe i did when I set it...) and it gets better and better. If you were a fan of "The Wonder Years" or anything similar - give this one a shot. I was hooked after the first show. In a TV season with a great many disappointments in both new series and returning shows - and with the Writers strike threatening to shorten......
