We use this stuff from March or April through November - in a tick-infested area. While we still find ticks on our dog, they seem to come off easily and don't get as embedded as they used to. The stuff is a little messy, though, and greasy to touch. His white coat gets a dark, dirty looking sticky stripe down his back.

This is the best of the best when it comes to killing fleas and ticks. I love this product. It keeps my dog clean and my mind clean to know that we wont have to worry about fleas or ticks around our family. GREAT product for the money! Well worth it!

I've used Advantix for a few years now on our 50 lb. Aussie mix and it is wonderful. This year I tried Frontline Plus and it didn't do anything for our dog. She was covered in ticks after our last camping trip and has been scratching from fleas ever since we made the switch to Frontline. I have a flea allergy so it's really important to me that we keep the fleas out of our home. I'm definitely switching back to Advantix and getting rid of the worthless Frontline! Both Advantix and Frontlineleft an oily spot where it is applied but that disappeared by the next day. It didn't affect us since my dog isn't one that rolls aorund on the floor or furniture.

I've seen it mentioned that Advantix doesn't work for dogs that swim. My dog loves to swim. We can't get in our pool without her jumping in with us. She swims almost daily in the summer and the Advantix still works for her. The Frontline that we tried never did work so I couldn't really tell you if it works after swimming or not. I can...

I tried out K9 Advantix because it was less expensive than Frontline Plus and was advertised to repel more insects. As far as efficacy was concerned, it was comparable to frontline. It may have repelled mosquitoes and biting flies. I don't know. I didn't notice a big difference. The dog I tried it out on was a Brittany with thick fur. The applicator is dark, so you can't see how much is left to apply. I had to keep shaking it, and the dog got antsy. He also had to remain standing, not sitting according to the directions, so that added to the challenge. It was hard enough keeping his fur spread open to the skin and shaking the applicator, now I've got to keep getting him to stand up again. Even though the dog had thick fur with an undercoat and the product was applied to the skin, his fur became visibly oily. You could basically see it spread on his body. I did not care for it at all.

I have two small dogs that are happily flea and tick free thanks to Advantix Flea and Tick Medicine. I had been using Frontline Plus and it stopped working when I moved to a new neighborhood. The veterinarian recommended that I try Advantix. As soon as I started using Advantix my flea problem was solved. I never really had a problem with ticks so I am not sure how well it works for that purpose. I use soap free shampoo when I give the dogs a bath to be sure not to wash the product off. I am not sure you have to do that but it was recommended when I purchased the product. I have to use it year round in Florida so it is a little expensive with two dogs. It has been worth the price. It always lasts the entire month. I have a cat in the house so I have to be very careful to keep the cat away from the dogs when I put the Advantix on them. Once it dries they are safe to torture with the cat again.

We have always used Advantix on our Min-pin because we drive a truck cross country and it works great especially since we walk our dog in all types of terrain. We were actually warned by a DOT Officer in Missouri one year that it was a bad year for ticks. Well we had to walk our dog and we did see ticks but Dobie (our dog) never got any. Now we buy enough every 6 months for our two dogs, my moms two dogs and my brothers dog-all of which roam around in the woods.

We have tried other products, which I am sure work for some people, but Advantix works best for our family.

I am a licensed vet tech and I strongly suggest Advantix for dogs only! This product is toxic if applied to cats! Make sure you are applying the product correctly, if you have any questions just ask your veterinarian to show you how to apply it. I wouldn't use any other product other than the advantage products!!!...

I love it because I try my best to keep my dog healthy and this just adds the comfort of knowing mosquitos wont be a problem either...which is great iin so cal since mosquitos are year round basically and carry so many diseases. The only thing is that you need to make sure your dog isnt around cats becauseproblems have been noticed with cats licking it off them....

When we first rescued our dog it was a mess. After her initial groom, we of course found her to be covered in fleas and later ticks got hold of her. When we got the Advantix drops, the problem disappeared immediately. Advantix flea and tick drops really worked wonders. We got it for our dog and our cats, and enjoy a flea and tick free home....

When I lost my job, I tried to save money by buying over the counter flea control. I had actually had my dog on Sentinel before, so I didn't even know what fleas looked like. Needless to say, he and the cats became infested, and I was horrified. So after wasting my money on store brand flea and tick control, Advantix killed the fleas immediately and has kept my dog flea-free ever since....
