the free version is great to view pdf files. adobe really sets the standard in this field. but the program is slow on any computer that isnt top of the line. also a con is that they bundle it with all sorts of software that you will never use. almost everything from adobe has a few extra processes running in the background that take up memory as well and are not needed. there are plenty of freeware programs out there that load faster and work just as well. I recommend searching for one of those...

The adobe free upgrades are also a pretty nice deal. Easy use. Makes business a breeze. One of the very first experiences I had with Adobe products was the Adobe Photoshop many years ago which is also a great online/offline editor. Adobe offers alot of great tools for pc users. Enjoy!
...

I like the new feel of the Adobe Acrobat Reader FREE version. The interface looks smooth with easier navigation. I'm a small business owner, and I open pdf files on a daily basis. I use Acrobat everyday. I wonder why any other company would create a pdf reader to compete with the Acrobat Reader. Adobe seems to have a monopoly on this market....

Bottom-Line: The of the program's ability to edit Adobe Professional generated forms is reason enough to upgrade to the newest version of what still is a free download from Adobe.

I love Adobe Acrobat; the Reader and the Professional program(s). The document collaboration software has made my life easier in many, many ways; e.g. it allows me to scan in all of bills and important correspondence and store them in a universally accepted format (Adobe .PDF) for later retrieval and printing. This has proved ideal for providing the often laborious number of documents needed to apply for large loan; instead of printing out reams of paper, I can just burn all of necessary paperwork to CD-ROM.

By now everyone should be familiar with Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files, they are everywhere, and they have become a staple of corporate and Internet file sharing. Acrobat is now the defacto standard in cross-platform file sharing because the .PDF format is not platform dependant, its portable;...
...

NikiTaylor says "Sorry Old Adobe, I'm Leaving You for a Younger Version. " about Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0

This reader is like driving a good car. It is so smooth and effortless. The last version I had got stuck as I tried to use it and the Internet. Also, when trying to find a word on the document, instead of constantly pulling Find from the Edit Menu, there is a search box on top. It has a better look with more colors and a sleeker design. As a freelance writer, I constantly get PDF files whether it's through writer guidelines or job contracts. I may also use the files for research. Thanks to the latest version, I can quickly do my job without the computer getting stuck and having to start all over again. This free download can be found on adobe.com.
...
