I have been wearing glasses since 5th grade and am now a junior in college. I've never been fond of how I look in glasses or how they obstruct my face. I decided to get contacts in October during my eye doctor visit. I tried out three or four different brands and none were very comfortable. I then tried a fifth pair and that one was ok, so I went home and came back in two weeks to check on them. They were itchy and felt dry. My doctor told me that they weren't fitting my eyes right and gave me another- Acuvue Oaysis with Hydraclear- my eyes never felt better! They were moist and smooth, fit my eyes perfectly, and were easy to place in my eyes. I have been using them since then. I only have to switch them every two weeks, taking them out at night. If I accidentally fall asleep wearing them, or if I have been wearing them for an extensive amount of time, they do get dry/stick to my eye, but just a few eyedrops fixes that easily.
...

When I went to the eye doctor last for my yearly contact visit, Acuvue Advanced Hydraclear this is what he gave me. Luckily, he scheduled a followup to make sure I was doing okay with the contacts because I could not use them at all. They were so thin and soft I couldn't manuever them well enough to get them in my eyes. And if my memory serves me correctly, I could even feel them in my eyes. Needless to say, when I went back for my follow up I told him just to give me the regular Acuvue 2 which seemed obsurd to him that I would want the old formula and not the new & improved but my eyes were just not ready for the new and improved....

Acuvue Advance Contact Lenses with Hyrdraclear are comfortable most of the time. If I wear them for too long, however, they get incredibly uncomfortable and will come out easily. I need to leave them out for at least 6 hours every night and take them out as soon as I come home to avoid this problem. They also tear easily if you have long fingernails....

I love the feel, fit and quality of the acuvue oasis toric lenses - HOWEVER, be careful of film buildup and allergic reactions. I've worn other acuvue lenses for 12 years and never experienced a problem until this particular lense was introduced. This lense contains a different type of material that may cause allergic reactions. After months of multiple dr's visits for what I believed to be 'various eye infections'; It turns out that I'm not a hypochondriac - I'm allergic to the lenses! For those able to wear these without a negative reaction - GREAT. For those folks with persistent and recurring itchy, scratchy, watery, irritated, blurred and crusty eye issues, contact your eye doctor! Good Luck.
...

I went to the eye doctor and she recommended that I switch to Acuvue Advance because I fall asleep in my contacts sometimes and they were supposed to be better for my eyes than Acuvue 2. It is true that your eyes get more oxygen with Acuvue Advance than Acuvue 2. HOWEVER, after 2-3 days, the contacts develop a film on it that you CANNOT get off with any kind of solution or by rubbing the contacts! I called Acuvue and they told me that it comes from the moisterizer that I use on my skin or the natural moisture on my face. So what? Does Acuvue expect for people to not use moisterizer and have dry skin so that they can wear their contacts??! That's crazy!! These contacts are supposed to last 2 weeks, but you can only get a week out of them if you are lucky!

I've worn contact lenses for 18 years and THESE ARE BY FAR THE WORST!!!!!! They irritate your eyes, they're blurry, and they are uncomfortable after a day or two.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! I bought a whole year supply and...
...

I've been wearing contacts for about 16 years and have probably tried just about every type of contact. A lot of people are Acuvue fans, but I am not. Acuvue Advance are better than the regular Acuvue2 contacts, but they have a slimy feeling to me. The lens is flimsy and easily tears. The Hydroclear have a cool feeling to the eye, but are not wearer friendly if you sleep in them. These contacts are a great option if you are very diligent about taking your contacts out whenever you even take a nap and want an Acuvue contact to last longer than 2 weeks. I think I'm too human and don't like the inconvenience.
...

With Acuvue Advance Contact Lenses with Hydraclear I can see clear and without the dryness. I love these contacts. The fit well and last long. I have been wearing this brand of contact lenses for a few years and I must say that I feel like I am not wearing anything lenses at all. They are so clear. Everything just seems so clean and clear when I wear my Acuvue Advance Contact Lenses. I wear eyeglasses also, but I much rather wear the Acuvue Advance Contact Lenses to see clearer. I don't think I would want to try anything else. ...

Ive been using this product for ever it seems and they still work great. My eyes are never that itchy unless they are in there for a month or so. After that I highly recommend taking them out as they seem to have a higher tendency of breaking. Beyond that, they are very natural in my eyes. Never know they are in there until I take them out at night. Highly recommend! Never have switched, probably never will!...

I've used contacts for 20+ years, and I've always had the red-irritated eyes. Because of my astigmatism, I started out with hard contact lenses then transitioned to the better gas permeable (GP) lenses. The best experience I've had so far were the GP Toric lenses, but unfortunately my eyes still looked like I had been up all night.
So the Acuvue lenses are marketed specifically for astigmatism (and comfort), so I tried them. Two issues:
1. They actually felt pretty good up until 3 days of use - then I would start seeing blurry, kind of like when you wear one lens backwards (and it was almost like they were shifting every time I blinked?) and at one point, looking to my right it almost felt like the contact would get stuck in the center position of my eye so I'd have to turn my head to look at things straight ahead (instead of just shifting my eyes) to prevent the lens from moving...I could fix this by putting on a new pair of contacts, but the bad thing about that was I was going through......

I really didn't care for these paticular pair of lenes. The Acuvue with Hyroclear really hurt my eyes. They felt like they they needed to be wetted down constantly. They were easy to put in and that feeling only lasted a few hours. They felt stiff and needed to get moistened after that. Although I do like the Acuvue brand. It is a good product, but these didn't feel good to me....
