As with my previous review of Acnefree's Clear Skin System, this review of their supposedly more aggressive "Severe Acne System" is also critical.

After using the normal system, but to no avail, I believed that perhaps something stronger was in order. Oddly enough, the only differences I noticed in the process of using the the Severe Acne System was its more potent infusion of Benzoyl Peroxide. With this set of products, I could actually smell the chemical in the repair lotion. Unfortunately, despite the claims of efficacy, there was no visible improvement at all. There was no prevention, and no healing.

The Wash: Slightly different consistency from the Clear Skin System's wash. Sometimes can feel flecks of whatever crystallized particles when applying.

The Toner: Again, the only part of the system that felt like it would have any effect.

The Repair Lotion: Smells heavily of medicated cream. A lot more effective in drying out the skin than the Clear Skin System, but like its "lite"-er...

Allow me to save you some money, but more importantly let me help you protect your skin. I have always had adult acne and about a year ago I discovered Proactiv, which has been a miracle worker for me. Clears my skin right up while leaving it healthy and soft. I recently changed my order and as a result there was a lapse in my shipment, leaving me without any cleanser for a couple of weeks. While at CVS, I decided to try Acne Free since it was trying to claim that it was not only comparable to Proactiv but "better". I washed my face with it that night and I swear it felt like someone set my skin on fire. I looked in the mirror and my face was beet red. Then came the tightness and severe itching. After a couple of days the irritation went away, but my face STILL feels like it is chapped or something. I will leave this product to people with alligator-tough skin and pay the extra for a truly exceptional acne medication, Proactiv. People...there really is NO substitute so far.

AcneFree Severe Acne Treatment System is very comparable to Proactive, but works better in my opinion, and is MUCH cheaper. Plus, you can usually find coupons for AcneFree and get it even cheaper.

The last anti acne system I tried was Pro Active, 2 years ago. It barely worked after 3 months, so I quit using it. And I am still an acne-troubled adult, which is very frustrating. Its hard to find anything that works.

I picked this up because I was frustrated with my face looking like a goofy teenager, and I was hoping that just maybe it would work. And it does!

I got the 5-piece severe acne treatment kit, which contains an acne wash, a toner, a repairing benzoyl peroxide moisturizer, a nighttime retinol treatment, and an acne spot treatment. One kit lasted me about 5 to 6 weeks, which I thought was great for $30 bucks. I used it religiously according to the directions and after 2 weeks I was getting comments on how healthy my skin was looking. Better than that, my skin feels great, clean, fresh, and healthy. This product is not drying or irritating like so many others but best of all it works. I would recommend this to anybody.

I have struggled with acne all my life. I have tried everything from over the counter products to prescriptions. Nothing worked.

That is, until I found AcneFree Three Step System. This product is amazing.

My acne is clearing up. I no longer wake up each morning with a "surprise" on my face.

The AcneFree Three Step System is also very easy to use. First, the cleanser once in the morning and once at night. It has gentle exfoliating properties in the cleanser to help remove the dirt, oil and dead skin cells from your face. Follow up with the toner. Then, the acne lotion.

Both the cleanser and the acne lotion contain 10% benzoyle peroxide that is time released.

I have had no problems with the products drying my skin. I am in my 40's and I no longer have the face of a teenager.

I recommend this Three Step Acne System to anyone who has struggled for years with acne like I have. It really works!

Never did I imagine that at the age of 40 I'd still be fighting acne. But, to always put a positive spin on what I can, now I have something in common with my 16 year old son. I started using AcneFree after using ProActive for a couple years and getting desensitized to it. ProActive quit working. Saw AcneFree at my local Costco and decided to try it. It worked really well and I'm still using it after about 4 years. When my 16 year old son started getting acne, I had to have him try this AcneFree Severe Acne Treatment System. It REALLY makes a difference on him. However, I can tell when he slacks off and doesn't perform all the steps correctly. After being acne prone myself in my teens, I am overjoyed to have found a product that works so well on him. I know from experience that having acne in your teens isn't a whole lot of fun. (Not much better when you are 40) I spent years going to dermatologists in my teens, even used Accutane. I'm just so thankful I've found...

Ance Free Treatment system is better than some of the other over the counter 3 part systems. Even though the ingrediets are virtually the same as Proactive; it does not work as well. I have also noticed when I use this product; around my eye area is very sensitive for a few days before my skin gets used to it. Proactive on the other hand is much more gentlier. This system does prevent major outbreaks however for myself I still had blemishes. I like the fact that it is cheaper than the popular brands. I would consider this system average.

I have used many acne treatments over the years such as oral medications, topicals, and full on systems such as ProActive. However, AcneFree was not only the best product Ive used so far, but it is very reasonable priced. I purchased this product on a whim at Target. It seemed like any other basic cleansing system. It had a cleanser, a toner, moisturizer for day use with SPF and a cream for night use only. I had seen this time and time again. But...its always worth a try when the first thing people see is the thing you are most worried about. Literally the next day I saw phenomenal results. Now...I had seen results just as fast in other products so I did not give it full credit just yet. However, it seemed after every use my skin was clearer, softer, and glowing! I received comments on my skin on a daily basis (no joke!).

This will CURE almost anyone's acne, just make sure you have a good moisturizer. This is very important. This stuff is very harsh and will only make your skin worse without a good moisturizer. Besides that, within two weeks it will have your skin clear again. I use the severe kit, which is great. I highly recommend at least trying this product.

As a teenager, I used perscription creams and oral medications to help clear my acne. I figured that after I was out of my teen years, my skin problems would be over. Haha - guess again! I guess having children once again screwed up my hormones and I have been struggling with facial breakouts especially since having my 2nd child. One of my main problems with using a skincare regimen is my lack of dedication to using the product regularly. I have been using this system off and on for a few months, but I have really only noticed a positive difference since I have been using it EVERY night for the last few weeks. The AcneFree Severe System hasn't completely cleared my skin, but I also have to admit I have only been using the 1 benzoyl peroxide topical cream and not the Retin-A cream on the top. My favorite part about the system is the astringent. I can't believe how much makeup it removes! Overall, I have been fairly satisfied as far as OTC treatments go.

I am reviewing the AcneFree, Severe to clear system! This product is amazing in that it helps clear up the most severe acne and you can even buy it over the counter! I have had problems with acne all my life. I stumbled on this product and decided to try it. I was amazed! It started working within TWO days! I felt so much better about my skin after using this product! This product has four different steps to it and you use it twice a day to clear up your skin! When using this product, it works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is 4 times stronger than Pro-Active and you can buy it right over the counter! If you have had problems with acne, I suggest this product for you. It does work and you will be much happier with your skin after using it! Good luck!!!

After battling acne through my teen years, it eventually got a little better. After having four children and turning 26, my acne started to get worse. I tried alot of over the counter products but nothing cleared up my acne. It was beginning to really effect my self-esteem even more than when i was younger because it was somewhat expected during my teen years. I decided to give the AcneFree Severe Acne Treatment System a try. I thought "its a little cheaper and claims to clear up troubled skin "better than pro-active"." The system was a four part system that included a 2oz. bottle of facial toner, a 2oz. bottle of facial wash, a 2oz. bottle of "maximum strength repair lotion"(morning use only) and a 1oz. tube of "retinol renewal complex"(evening use only) I was very loyal to the directions and used it for almost two months. I continued to have bad breakouts during the time of use and i was quite shocked and dissapointed that not one product included in the AcneFree system...

My daughter has moderate to severe acne, we have tried everything but her body would just acclimate to what ever product she was using and therefore would stop working. I like AcneFree because you can get it at the drug store and it does not cost an arm and a leg, plus sometimes I can find coupons or the product is on sale. My daughter alternates between the AcneFree Severe and the regular AcneFree to keep her body from becoming too used to the product. She still gets some pimples, but they are no way near the level of severity that she had before. The other products like Murad and ProActive only worked for a short time and dried out her skin something horrible. I was paying a lot of money plus shipping for products that may have been solving one problem but causing a seperate one. The Acne spot treatment (Acne and Blackhead Terminator) is a product that works well too, I have even had to use it a couple of times. I does not make the blemish go away overnight, but it does...

I bought this product a while ago because I thought that it would be like buying proactiv but cheaper. I was wrong! Proactiv did nothing for my skin and Acne Free has done nothing but clear all my acne up. I love the system. They throw in a fourth item just like Proactiv does but the fourth item is a retinol cream that helps clear up scars that acne causes. The other three items are a face wash, toner, and lotion. The chemicals in the product did not irritate my skin but made it prety dry. Overall a great product, the system works, its a good price for it, a good value, and my skin has been clearer than it has in months.

tryed this product with absolutely no results. My acne actually started to get worse! I would suggest taking vitamin B-5 (pantothenic acid). It's super cheap at any store that sells natural vitamins (try online), and it actually works! This stuff was just a waste of my money ...
