Original A&D Ointment was recommended to me by my midwife, so I figured I would give it a try. My three children tended to have very bad diaper rashes that would progress very quickly and then disappear just as quickly and we later discovered that they all have GERD (reflux) and food sensitivities. Preventive measures, like keeping the skin clean and dry, avoiding highly acidic foods and avoiding foods that cause sensitivities tend to work better for my kids.

Here's what I like about A&D:

easy to find
comes in tube or pump or jar
tube is convenient for travel
cheaper than some diaper rash creams
easier to wash off than something like Desitin with a lot of zinc oxide
didn't notice a scent

Here's what I don't like about A&D:

didn't work for my kids' diaper rashes
easier to wear/rub off than other brands I tried (they also make the creamy version with zinc oxide and I have not tried that)
thinner than other brands I tried

My Viewpoint:

A&D Ointment was the least favorite of the diaper rash treatments...

a+d diaper rash cream is very good for baby. i tried a lot brand named diaper rash cream for my baby.but when i tried this a+d on my baby.oh god it worked so well on the rash area.that the rash was gone in a day or two.thank you a+d very much.

once i tried cheaper brand too . it did not work honestly.A+d diaper rash cream is excellent. even i suggested my sister for her baby boy.she too told what a great it was for her baby too.

i was a new mom and do not know much about the baby product.once i found the coupon and thougt why not give a try on it.oh it worked it.i would suggest every mom to try this product.it is worth on baby.the creamy texture and softness you can feel when it is on your tip of fingure.

My mom used this stuff on me. And I didn't really remember it. Till I opened up the bottle and smelled it. I remembered the smell very well. That's the only thing I hate about this product. Is the smell. But I like it because I don't just use it on my baby's diaper rash. When Daddy gets a cut I use it on that. When I'm getting my own "diaper rash" I use it. lol I use it on pretty much everything.

A little bit of this goes a long way!! Although not a "diaper rash cream", this is the best, recommended by grandma for baby #2. With my 1st I tried many others but never saw the excellent, consistent results as with this product....

A + D worked great when my son had a diaper rash. It caused him the least amount of discomfort, and the rash went away quickly. I've used it at every diaper change after that, and his little bottom hasn't turned red since!!! Other creams I've tried are watery, and just don't affect him. I swear by A + D; it's a great product!...

The original A & D Ointment with the brown and yellow package is the best product that has come along in a very long time for adults who have severe problems with skin on skin contact and the daily battle of keeping the skin in tack and not with any kinds of breakouts or irritations.

I would recommend this to any new mom or senior citizen having this problems.

Everyone kept recommending Destin to me, but I purchased A&D with my first child and was amazed at how fast it worked. My daughter had a tendecy of getting bad diaper rashes that would flare up within minutes. I would put the A&D on her in within seconds the puffiness and redness would be gone. By the next morning her little bottom would be back to normal.

A mother's lifesaver and a child's blessing.
