Shopping for flowers can take time and effort when the task is performed the old- fashioned way. It can take several trips to multiple florists in town to find the right floral arrangement to fit the occasion. But thanks to the internet, shopping for flowers is much easier than it was in the past and one web site I have used several times for this purpose is 800flowers.com.

800flowers.com is a web site utilized for purchasing flowers more than anything else. The web site presents several different floral arrangements directly on the home page and it also includes any up- coming holidays that might be cause for celebrating with a gift from 800flowers.com. Along with flowers, 800flowers.com also sells plants, gift baskets for specific occasions, gift cards, and other assorted items.

My use of 800flowers.com over the years has been generally positive. First of all, I liked the arrangement of the web site and the ease of shopping. The selection isn't gigantic,...

1-800Flowers has always been very accommodating and easy to deal with. I've had flowers delivered to some pretty secluded addresses and 1-800 has always come through. Their prices are relatively reasonable and they have many different flower arrangements, and gift baskets from which to choose. They also offer "same day delivery" which is rare and impressive. I've used them for years now and 1-800 will probably be the first website I start with when looking for flowers or gift baskets.

1800-Flowers is NOT a florist! It's just a company that gets orders and then resends them to real florists. Of course they don't do this for free. They make their florist pay various fees and taxes - usually about 38-40% of the price that you pay.

So for example if you order something for $100 the florist that gets the order will receive only about $60 in the end! And since they want to make a profit too, they will not use as many flowers or flowers with great quality. Florists are also never paid for delivery separately, so they have to fit all their delivery expenses in that price too!

That's why it's always way better to just call a local florist.

It's unfair that you can't give fewer than 1 star.

For starters, I ordered 6 items for the girlfriend's birthday:

Stuffed puppy plush
Box of assorted chocolate dipped items (ie: pretzels, etc.)
Box of assorted chocolates
Box of assorted taffies <sp?>
3 dozen assorted colored roses
Half dozen mylar balloons

I envisioned her having a fantastic birthday surprise when all of these goods were delivered to her at the workplace. They would walk in with all of this stuff, all heads turned, and her desk would be loaded. Instead, the following happened:

1.) Day before her birthday, the stuffed puppy plush arrived in a UPS box delivered with the rest of their UPS deliveries. With it was a note mentioning the other items, so the entire surprise was completely blown.

2.) Day of her birthday, the chocolate dipped items, roses, and taffy arrived. All in UPS boxes. She even had to unpack and assemble the "bouquet" of roses as can be seen here: www.javin-inc.com/flowers.jpg (image on the right...

I bought a birthday bouquet of 12 tulips in a clear vase and had it delivered to her place of work. I assumed the bouquet would arrived assembled and arranged as the picture showed. No! It came sealed in a box like a delivery from Amazon. My wife had to assemble it herself. The whole idea of a birthday bouquet is the surprise when it arrives for her at work. 1 800 Flowers is a joke. Do not use them. Even the worst flower retailer in the world would know to delivery a birthday bouquet assembled, not sealed in a brown box. What a bunch of bozo's!...

1800flowers.com has aweful customer service. I ordered $60 flowers from my Mother for Valentine's Day only to find out that she did not received anything - best part is, 1800flowers.com did not even inform me that they were unable to deliver my order on time. The flowers were FINALLY delivered on the 17th of February, THREE DAYS after my order was supposed to be delivered. 1800flowers.com has illustrated no reliability and I am HIGHLY dissapointed with their services (or better said, lack of services).

I do not reccomend 1800flowers.com AT ALL.

I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my boyfriends mother for her birthday. The bouquet I ordered was full of beautiful roses, big budding Lilly's, colorful daisy's, and much more! The picture was beautiful.....but the arrangement she received was not so. When I arrived at my boyfriend's house and saw the arrangement I thought I was going to have a heart attack! The arrangement was tiny, had one rose in it, and had what I think were small Lilly's...oh and carnations! It was NOWHERE close to what I thought I would be getting.

I called 1-800-Flowers as soon as I could the next morning and with no problem the representative apologized and said that they would have a new arrangement sent that day. Five o'clock rolled around and we still had not received the new arrangement. I called the company again and they told me they had until 7.....to make this long story short, they then told me that they would try a different florist and that they would have another bouquet sent out to...

I decided to send flowers to a girlfriend of mine who had just lost her mother. I scheduled them to be at her house when she returned. That night I waited for her call and never recieved one. I thought maybe she was just not in the mood to talk, so I called 1800 flowers to check the status of my shipment. I was told that they had not heard from the florist. We scheduled a redelivery and again they were no show. I called for a refund and the girl tryed to charge me half price to ship them again. After not excepting her offer she ended up hanging up on me. I called back and spoke with a very nice young man who issued the refund and also resent the flowers for me. Again on the day off the delivery they were a no show!! I called back and spoke with a girl who said that they had tried to deliver them but the buisness were theye were delivering closed at 5. I then informed her that I work at the same place and that we close at 8. She asked me to call after7 and she would have more info for me.......

I shopped inside the 1-800-Flowers store in Dearborn, Michigan, and was impressed by the selection, customer service, and the price.

For Mother's Day, I purchased a beautiful azalea plant for my mom. I had a $30 gift certificate that I used and there were plenty of pretty flowers and plants to choose from within that price range. In fact, there were so many nice things, I had a hard time choosing just the right gift.

The 1-800-Flowers store also had a great selection of other gifts, and I was especially impressed by the themed-sets. The baby-themed gifts were very cute and I didn't think that the prices were high compared to most floral shops.

The only item that I thought was kind of pricey was the $5 Happy Mother's Day balloon that I purchased to go along with the azalea plant. If I didn't have a gift certificate with a value to "use or lose," then I wouldn't have gotten it. There were some high quality chocolate bars that I could have chosen instead for less money,...

The online picture looked great. The size was stated very large. The price was expensive, so i expected something great. what i got was small, and a different color and arrnagement. totally different from what i ordered. i was not happy at all. after complaining they online gave me a 15 dollar discount, off the 130 dollars i spent on the arrangement

I ordered a bouquet from 1800Flowers to send to my mother for Mother's Day. The flowers did not bloom as they should have. I merely emailed 1800Flowers who promptly sent a replacement bouquet that bloomes beautifully. 1800Flowers did not hesitate to honor their satisfaction guarantee. I appreciate their excellent customer service and will use them for all my floral purchases in the future....

I have used 1-800-flowers.com many times to order flowers for different occasions. There are some really beautiful arrangements to choose from. The prices aren't that bad either. They run some pretty good sales fairly often.

The flowers have always been fresh and arranged beautifully, except for the last time I ordered from them. I especially love the birthday cake shaped flower arrangement. I have ordered this a few times and have gotten many compliments on it. I have also referred other people to the site just to order the birthday cake shaped arrangement.

The last order I placed with 1-800-flowers.com was for my grandmother. It was a surprise thank you for her. At the time they were running a deal on mini roses, buy a dozen get a dozen free. That sounded perfect! A dozen free flowers, what a wonderful deal. Who wouldn't love to get TWO dozens roses, and as a surprise! My grandmother called when immediately after they were delivered.
