pressdad says "HP has outstanding tech support" about Hewlett Packard Pavilion DV6605US (GS662UA) PC Notebook

Bought this model for my daughter for christmas. It comes with 1gb of memory, which I upgraded to 2gb. It has excellent graphic capabilities along with a 160 gb harddrive and a cd/dvd reader/writer along with Lightscribe, which allows you to burn the label directly on the disc. The only major negatives I have found is the fact that Lightscribe capable discs are expensive and the laptop uses the Windows Vista operating system. Vista wouldn't let us play cds or dvds. I was able to resolve this problem by downloading and installing RealPlayer and updating that application. After that had no problems with cds or dvds in any of the players that came on the system. My daughter did change some settings she shouldn't have, which caused problems that Microsoft had no solutions for, but 1 email to HP Tech Support helped me solve that issue....

pressdad says "A must see movie." about Remember the Titans

An outstanding film, chronicling the trials and tribulations of a high school football team undergoing forced integration during the early seventies. Based on a real life situation, this movie depicts the racial conflict so prevalent during that era. Denzel Washington is superb in the role of Herman Boone, a black coach taking over the reins of the football team during the first year of racial integration at an all white school. On the path to an unbeaten season, he teaches the team, the school and the community to judge people by their abilities, rather than their skin color. The scene where he takes the team to the Gettysburg graveyard and in a speech compares their actions to the Civil War battle is one of the most intense and touching scenes in modern film history, with lessons we are still struggling to learn. A must have movie for any DVD collection....

pressdad says "Wait for it to come on tv. Not worth buying or renting." about Transformers

The soundtrack was good and the movie provided a few laughs. The f/x seemed cheap, unimaginative and poorly done. Like most movies trying to capitalize off of tv series, it falls far short of expectations. The characterization of the bumbling, bureaucratic government agents is the best part of the movie. Not worth buying, renting or seeing in a theatre....
