pkmom says "Excellence in Service, Quality and Value." about Teppis One Supply

Our nonprofit is opening a brand new thrift store. We knew we needed supplies but we weren't sure what. Although we knew a tagging gun would be helpful we didn't know what kind or anything about them.

Enter Teppis One Supply Company. I found them while searching eBay and the internet. We've ordered a few times now and plan to order again. From their shining start with our first order through now they've consistently been helpful. They've answered all of our questions quickly and have steered us to the right merchandise for us.

The shipping prices are not out of line. This company makes it's money on the quality merchandise they sell. They don't gauge you with big handling upcharges on top of the shipping cost. This is really important when you are buying on behalf of a nonprofit. The more money we save the more clients we can help.

You'll find Teppis One Supply Company online through Goodsearch or another search engine. They sell pricing labels and tagging guns of every brand. Also...
...

pkmom says "Follow the music" about August Rush

Ok, I'll admit it. I may be biased toward any film involving music. Both of my daughters are huge music buffs. One is classical the other wants to play in a band. They play several instruments and are each listening to some type of music constantly. I was prepared to like this urban fairy tale and was not disappointed.

August Rush movie is for fans who crave an emotional "they all lived happily ever after" ending. It is not for literal minded thinkers (who will hate this film). The plot is unrealistic even though there are references to the National Center For Missing and Exploited Kids. (Kudos the director Kirsten Sheridan - In America screenwriter - for showing the center's actual phone number in the film.)

The Plot
Rock singer Louis Connelly (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and professional cellist Lyla Novacek (Keri Russell) meet in a chance encounter. They meet, have sex, and fall in love on the same night. The couple never sees each other again until the end of the move.

Lyla finds herself......

pkmom says "Try Ruby Tuesday in Strawberry Plains. You'll like it." about Ruby Tuesday - All locations, Nationwide

Ruby Tuesday is an international chain. We've eaten at many locations. Most often the food and service is great. Last night's dinner is no exception. This specific review is about the Ruby Tuesday at Exit 398 (Strawberry Plains) in Knoxville, Tennessee.

My husband, teenage daughter and I were on the go all day yesterday. By the time we had a chance for dinner it was nearly 9pm. We weren't sure where to go but I was sure I didn't want to cook. So, it was off to Ruby Tuesday's and we were glad we went.

Decor

The first thing we noticed was the change in the decor. Kudos to Ruby Tuesday for the update. No longer do loud TV's blare from perches in the upper corners of the restaurant. Gone is the wall clutter of clanky nostalgic items that were so popular with restaurants a few years ago. The new look of Ruby Tuesday's is that of a 70's diner. The atmosphere is retro, cleaner and more relaxed. The chairs are more comfortable and it's easier to have a table conversation.

Food

Decor isn't the...
...

pkmom says "Beowulf Animated Suspense in a Movie " about Beowulf (2007)

Plot Details: This opinion reveals everything about the movie''s plot.
Since before the 10th century people have been mesmerized by the Old English tale of Beowulf. It has survived the destruction of religious manuscripts during the Henry the VII dissolution of monasteries and at least one fire.

Whether it can survive the latest rendition remains to be seen.

Plot Details
This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.

The Legend

King Hrothgar (Anthony Hopkins) has a small kingdom in an out-of-the-way region of Denmark in 507 AD. To celebrate victories the king ordered the building of the greatest Meade-Hall that ever was built. Celebrations included excesses of food and alcohol. Loud reveling awakened the monster Grendel who is the son of a deamonness. Grendel attacks the meade hall murdering many of the King's men, but not the king himself. Later we find out that King Hrothgar is Grendel's father.
Upset, the king puts a bounty on the head of Grendel. He offers up to half the...
...

pkmom says "Netflix - at home, over the net or buying used. I love it!" about Netflix

We have been Netflix members since December 2005. I appreciate the vastness of the inventory. My kids and husband like the website ease of use. The selection includes classics, educational titles, documentaries, hard-to-find titles - you name it.

Netflix offers a lot in the way of convenience and value. Signing up for the service is easy. Visit the website. Click a few links, type in your credit card or checking account information and you're done. There are no late fees here!

At the time of this writing you can select from several plans. The most expensive is the 8 at a time option for $47.99. This allows you to have up to 8 titles each month with no service fees. The least expensive option is the 1 at a time (up to 2 a month) for $4.99.

The downside is having to wait for the Postal Service to get the movie to you. This can take a few days. And, just like in your local corner video store there may be a wait for popular titles or new releases.

A new service allows you to rent and watch......

pkmom says "Nice inexpensive beachfront motel. " about Blockade Runner SC - North Myrtle Beach, SC

My husband, daughter and I took off for a quck trip during fall break. We wanted to go to the beach but didn't have a lot of money to spend. We weren't interested in expensive accommodations and we weren't looking to be in the center of the action. Our goal was to spend a few stress free days on the beach. For this, The Blockade Runner was perfect.

The motel was in the process of upgrading the rooms. This wasn't mentioned when we made our reservation. In the parking lot when we arrived was a large pile of used mattresses. This made me a little nervous about our stay. We need not have worried. Although budget conscious our room was nice and well maintained. The beds were comfortable. The micro and fride worked well as did the AC and the balcony gave us a terrific ocean view. Ice machines were noisy but worked. We weren't bothered by construction sounds.

I was impressed by the layout and types of rooms. We got the basic two bed room with a microfridge and refrigerator. For less than $5.00 more......

pkmom says "Flee from the Hartz Flea Medicine!" about Hartz 3 & 1 Flea & Tick Repellent

My husband and I wanted to experiment with a lower cost alternative to the expensive flea drops from the veterinarian. After seeing advertisements for the Hartz Flea & Tick medicine we decided to pick up a package from our local Wal-Mart.

We liked the availability in that we did not need to order it or make a trip to the vet. The price was nice. However, it didn't take long to realize that purchasing this product was a mistake.

The Hartz Advanced Care 4 in One Flea Drops Plus comes with 3 vials in a package. It has a nice baby powder type of scent and putting it on the dog is easy. You just squeeze the contents of the vial from the back of the neck to the tail and you're done.

According to the package, the medicine will "efficiently kill and repel fleas, flea eggs, ticks and mosquitos." It is supposed to be specially formulated to break the flea life cycle and keep your pet pest free for up to a month. Three treatments were included.

Not only did the product not work but within two......

pkmom says "From the mountains to the sea this aircard is hard to beat!" about Sierra Wireless Aircard AC875

I am the proud owner of a Sierra Wireless 875 Aircard. After using it almost a year, I can only wonder why the networks waited so long to develop this type of access. It's been great!

Specs:
The card itself is from Sierra Wireless. Designed for 3G networks, it is a type II pc card with a fixed internal antenna. With theoretical data rates of up to 3.6 Mpbs, the card can be used worldwide with HSDPA/UMTS and quad-band Class 12 EDGE/GPRS connectivity.

Card features include:
* High performance antenna in rugged housing
* Simultaneous voice and data capabilities
* Supports HSDPA and UMTS on the 2100, 1900, 850 Mhz band
* Supported by Sierra Wireless developer tools for third party user interface and applications
* Windows XP, 2000
* Field firmware upgradeable

When using this there have been a few glitches but by and large I'm very happy with the product and wireless internet service.

The card itself cost $150.00 from Cingular with agreeing to a 2-year contract.
pkmom says "Intense glimpse of another culture and our own." about The Kingdom

Love it or hate it this film is guaranteed to make you think. Don't go if you want mindless entertainment or a movie full of warm fuzzies. It's thought provoking, action packed and hard hitting.

This review is about the movie The Kingdom.

The movie's clips and snapshot images at the beginning of brings us up to speed on US - Saudi Arabia relations. Having that frame of reference helped put the rest of the movie into perspective.

At the start of the film the scene is as serene as you can imagine. Families have gathered to play softball at the American compound in Saudi Arabia. The sky is cloudless on this warm summer day. Children call back and forth. There is some foreshadowing of the danger to come but for the most part it's idyllic.

Then, all heck breaks loose and the scene becomes a nighmare. The terrorist attack against the families leaves many dead, buildings in shambles and survivors searching for answers.

Back in the states a special response team quickly forms despite resistance......

pkmom says "The Brave One Wasn't" about The Brave One

The Brave One stars Jodie Foster as Erica Bain a straight talking NYC radio show host who shares the sights and sounds of the city with her listeners. Also starring are Terrance Howard as Detective Mercer and Naveen Andrews as Dr. David Kirnani (also Erica's boyfriend).

My husband and daughter wanted to see this film. Not knowing anything other than the title I walked into the theater without any preconceived notions.

Before you go any farther you need to know that this review will talk about many details about the plot.

The plot:

The Brave One begins with Bain and Dr. Kirnani walking their dog at a city park. Carefree and madly in love, the couple lets their dog off of the leash and begin cuddling each other. Soon, they remember their canine companion and go to look for him only to find someone else holding their pet's leash.

This person and two others savagely attack Bain and her boyfriend. For kicks, they record the video on a cell phone. Bain's boyfriend died from the beating. After......
