pef1996 says "LOVE IT!" about Shrek

With a family full of kids, you have to pick lots of animated movies to watch all the time. You also hope that the ones your kids like are good! Well, we viewed Shrek several years ago and we are still watching it today! This is one movie that my kids love to pick out to watch in our van on long trips and it's one I enjoy listening to as I drive or ride in the passenger seat.

You have some very famous actors playing the characters, Cameron Diaz and Eddie Murphy just to name two. The over all story is you have a princess locked up in a tower, an evil lord wants to marry her to become a king, and an ogre is sent off to collect her. I won't give up anything else in case you haven't seen it!

I love this movie, the characters are so real and life-like, the story keeps flowing and the music is great!
...

pef1996 says "Great place to get an education." about Abilene Christian University

I went to Abilene Christian University not really knowing what I was getting into. I was just out of high school, I had gone on the tour and thought that it was a neat place to go to school and it was seven hours from my folks. I was also newly married and going there with the husband.

After graduating six years later, it was the best experience I had ever had. I loved the Christian atmosphere, the small classes (well, Bible 101 wasn't small, but everything else was!), the friendships, the faculty and all the little things that made it a great place for a college education.

I ended up getting offered a job there and worked there for about three years as full-time, but spent seven years working on the yearbook, newspaper and as a student worker and basically had a blast doing it all.

You do have to pay a high price for the education, but I believe the benefits are worth the price. I loved the school and would recommend it to anyone looking for a college to attend.
...

pef1996 says "If you can do it, then do it. Don't be afraid!" about Breastfeeding Opinion

As a mother of four, I realize the importance of providing the best possible food for your child. Even though people disapporved, I opted to breastfeed each of my children. I will admit, I only went for six months with my first and ten with my second, but my third child went for sixteen months and I'm still nursing my twelve month old.

The deal is you don't have to be afraid to breastfeed. I know some people get embarrassed, but there's nothing to be afraid of. It's a natural process that God created for babies to be fed by. If you are embarrassed, there's nothing wrong with going to another room to nurse. I have done that plenty of times. But some manufactuers have come out with nursing tops that conceal what you are doing.

There are many benefits of nursing. Babies tend to get sick less, there is no worry about having to keep formula a certain temperature or the type of formula your child needs. Babies aren't allergic to breastmilk since it's meant just for them.

I think of it as a great......

pef1996 says "It's awesome!" about XM Satellite Radio

I thought my husband was quackers when he said he wanted to get an XM radio for the car. I'm like, what's wrong with the regular FM/AM stations? Well, he talked me into it (he always does) and we got one for our van.

Well, to me, regular radio has nothing compared to XM radio! So what is XM radio? XM radio is a service provided my XM where you receive satellite radio stations in your vehicle. You receive over 230 stations of all types of genres. I enjoy listening to the Christian station, Radio Disney, The 60's station, XM Hitlist, Flight 26 and more. You can also listen to theater productions, old radio shows, The Weather Channel, traffic stations, sports and more.

It costs between $19.99 and $149.99 or so to get the radio for your car, if you have it installed professionally, you have to add those costs to the product. You can pay monthly or yearly for the service. The longer you pay for, the cheaper it is per month.

We have it and I won't go back to the regular radio. Okay, I do listen......

pef1996 says "A great experience for my daughters" about Girl Scouts

When I was a little girl, I really wanted to join Girl Scouts, but my mom wouldn't let me. For what reason, I have no clue. But I always heard how much fun the girls had and I wanted my daughters to have that same experience.

So when my oldest turned five, we decided to let her join. Now she is nine and she loves it! Not only do they have the cookie sales (which she enjoys participating in), but they do different activities to better their social skills, learn about the environment and how to take care of their bodies. They learn to work as a team and she has made many new friends through the years.

Now my second oldest daughter is a Daisy and loves it just as much as my oldest. They both plan on being in Girl Scouts until they can't do it any longer.

I would recommend Girl Scouts for any parent wanting their daughter to partcipate in a fun group of girls and to learn more than they would any other way plus they are doing it with friends....

pef1996 says "Good quality photos, slow to take photos, lots of options" about Kodak EASYSHARE C340 Zoom Digital Camera

I purchased the Koadk EasyShate C340 more than a year ago. Since purchasing it, our family has had loads of fun using it! The camera can hold SD cards so with a 2GB card in it, the amount of pictures that can be taken with it are endless! The camera also takes videos which is neat when you don't have the regular video camera around.

The camera has several photo taking options. There's the ability to set it to Auto where it adjusts itself regularly. But there's also portrait, movement, landscape, scenery and an option for close-ups. You can turn the flash off, set it to auto or set it to correct the red eye.

You're able to go all the way to 5.0 megapixels and you can change several of the settings in the camera, but I haven't messed with much of that. You can save your favorite pictures on it as well. There is also a timer so if you want to be in the photo, you have that option as well.

The only thing I don't like is the delay in taking the photo. You hold the button down just a bit for it......
