paswine says "great feel on the greens without sacrificing distance off the te" about Srixon Soft Feel Golf Balls

These are some of the best golf balls I've ever used. Great feel on and near the greens without sacrificing distance off the tee. Very good durability, too. I'd recommend them to anyone who knows that you save shots around the green.

This golf ball is similar in feel to the Titleist ProV1 but much cheaper....

paswine says "great trips at good prices with congenial company" about Elderhostel - Us & Canada Catalog Magazine

Elderhostel, in general, is a great way to travel for people 55 and over (and for their "companions" who are younger). I started going to Elderhostels as my mother's companion when I was quite a bit too young to attend on my own. Despite my youth at the time I found the people on the tours very interesting and fun. They had had interesting jobs and lives and frequently had lived all over the world. Because each Elderhostel tour has quite a focused subject, the participants tend to self-select to be people with common interests.

Prices are usually VERY competitive with other tours and Elderhostel usually manages to get access to many sites that are often nearly impossible for an individual to find, or to gain admission if they can be found.

Guides have always been extremely helpful and friendly and VERY expert and experienced.

I've loved every Elderhostel tour I've gone on and I'm NOT usually someone who travels in an organized group. So if Elderhostel can convince me to go, they...
...

paswine says "awesome car - big but doesn't look it, excellent stying" about Volvo XC90 - 2006

This is a great car. It has huge storage capacity but doesn't look like an enormous car. Unlike most high-end SUV's, this doesn't LOOK huge nor does it drive like a tank. I love the styling - sleek and elegant and NOT boxy at all. Easy to drive.

Very good fuel efficiency.

I've also been very impressed with Volvo's service and customer commitment.

I needed an SUV for my business. I wanted something with hip high entry and exit in the storage area so I didn't have to bend over to get large heavy objects out. This is perfect.

Before I had this, I bought a Isuzu SUV which drove like a tank and ate gas. This car is exactly the opposite - it drives like a much smaller car and is economical to drive.

I'd go back to Volvo again and again for their quality of build, safety and customer service.
...

paswine says "fabulous quality, functional, the best around" about Apple PowerBook G4 Mac Notebook

This computer does everything I need of it and does it well. I've traveled with it and I've used it HARD and still it is working well. Excellent ease of use. Very intuitive to use so you don't need to spend hours reading a manual. Easy to install new software.

As a MAC it is less susceptible to viruses so that's a real comfort to someone who doesn't have an IT department to fix problems.

Runs all the programs anyone is likely to ever need.
...

paswine says "easy to use and economical" about Canon - PowerShot SD500

This camera is small, easy-to-use, and economical. Very important for me, it has a viewfinder. I can't see an LCD screen without my reading glasses and, if I wear my reading glasses, I can't see what I'm taking a picture of. So having a viewfinder that allows me to see the picture without my reading glasses is critical.

Pictures are of excellent quality, capable of being reproduced at a commercial quality level.

Manual is easy to read and the functions are quite simple to understand.
...
