opus88 says "Made my beautiful shoes fit perfectly and comfortably!" about Foot Petals - Killer Kushionz, Heavenly Heelz

I stumbled upon Foot Petals and ordered 3 items: Heavenly Heelz (to fit around the back of the heel or can also be used across the upper band near the toes), Killer Kushionz (to use as an insole) and Tip Toes (place under the ball of the foot when wearing heels). Silly me, I neglected to use them right away. Boy, am I sorry I waited! — — I purchased a beautiful pair of heels for a performance outfit, and they fit great. Unfortunately, I found them after about 2 hours of walking the mall on a warm day, so my feet were swollen. Come time to wear them in performance and they are too loose, so I can't really walk in them. I stuffed them with Dr. Scholl's-type insoles, then cut up another pair to double up under the ball of the foot, plus used a portion of that one to also put something around the back of the heel. Still, I had to squinch my foot back and up before I walked, and that effect only lasted a short while - more than a few steps later I'm walking with an awkward...

opus88 says "Not fast-paced with lots of excitement, but well worth viewing." about Letters From Iwo Jima

We saw this last night after DVRing it last week. I don't know what was edited to fit the time frame, but it was about 3.5 hours. — — The most disappointing thiing was the subtitles. No, not because it was subtitled, but the actual words on the screen. They were too small to read easily, and they too often changed before we could finish reading the dialogue. Good thing it was DVR so we could rewind as often as necessary. — — Otherwise we found it engaging even though the pacing was a little slow. And we did feel connected to the main characters. — — Overall, I'd recommend it if there is any interest in the WWII era. Since it was not in high color, the potential goriness of such a film was drastically reduced, making it easily watchable. —...

opus88 says "Clean, fair price, friendly staff." about Springhill suites - Peoria, IL

Check-in was easy, front desk staff friendly. We had a problem with the TV and somebody came up right away, apologized profusely for the inconvenience and said he would return with a different TV. We were headed out and when we returned shortly after, he had just finished the installation of the new TV and was testing it to be sure everything worked and the problem was no longer an issue. — — The breakfast was typical fruits, juices & milk, cold cereal and pastries, plus sausage patties and make-your-own waffles. This was all fine, but the molded (same size as sausage patties) scrambled eggs were like rubber, and the eggs and sausage were not very hot. The 4 containers of hot drinks (coffee, tea, water) were not replenished often enough throughout the day and night, and were therefore lukewarm or cold 3 of the 5 times we attempted to get a hot drink. — — There was a small fitness room, free newspaper, pay-per-view movies, microwave, fridge, coffee maker with...

opus88 says "Everyone was friendly and helpful." about Hollywood Casino - Tunica, Mississippi

From the initial phone call asking for information to the next call to make the reservation, then from check-in to questions to check-out, and even when bumping into the maid or security people, the "worst" person was very professional, up to the majority being personable and helpful. We were there Thanksgiving afternoon and stayed that night, and there was never a big crowd - so different from what we are used to in a casino hotel. This, along with 2 other casinos, is off the path from the other casinos in Tunica/Robinsonville, so maybe that is a plus. We enjoyed our stay, the room was clean and certainly adequate for our needs. Parking was free and convenient to the entrance. With all the old movie photos and memorabilia (including the Batmobile!), there was plenty to keep us occupied during non-gaming time. We dined onsite in a 50s-60s themed restaurant with tableside juke boxes - food was good and prices were reasonable. We'd definitely return there should we head that direction...

opus88 says "So entertaining!" about Pet Senegal parrot

Senegals are great fun. They are known as the clowns of the parrot family; they love to do tricks, they love to learn, they love to please their owners. We laugh at our Senegal all the time - sometimes for the tricks we've taught her, often for just the natural personality that shines through. — — — Not known as the best talkers, they will learn to mimic in a squeaky voice. But there is such a desire to please that teaching them tricks is very easy. They love rewards of treats, but can be just as desiring of excited praise from their owner once they start to learn the trick. — — We love everything about our Senegal except the screaming. Being a very social creature, she just has to be part of the commotion. If we have a loud conversation, if hand-washing dishes or clanking dishes together (such as emptying the dishwasher), or if putting away the groceries, she has to be a continual part of the noise. Their natural habits include calling to each other,...

opus88 says "Lives up to the claims." about Carlson Labs Cod Liver Oil

This particular product comes with high recommendations from many of the fanatical health writers and researchers. The brand is old and trusted. If you are looking for a cod liver oil product for whatever reason, this is the one to use. — — We've used this for a few years, and enjoy the pleasant taste. The worst part is having to keep it refrigerated - the "out of sight, out of mind" phrase does apply here, so it's very helpful to just make it part of your breakfast routine (or whichever meal is best for you). — — A word of caution: If you get daily amounts of sunshine, you will not want to use as much of this due to Vitamin D toxicity potential. Without a blood test there really isn't a way to know where you stand with this. Those who live in warmer climates and enjoy the outdoors may only want to use this...

opus88 says "Overall better than most other diet-related programs." about The Zone

I've read many books about diet programs. I am not dieting to lose weight - I have chronic health difficulties that require me to be very conscious and cautious of what I eat. — — This is one of only 2 general nutrition-related books that I recommend when asked. The Zone makes much sense, and is much easier to apply and stick with than nearly all of the others. It just takes a little understanding and a desire to implement it. — — There are many applications to various diseases in the book, including arthritis, cancer, diabetes, chronic fatigue and more. The recipes are delicious and very helpful (you can also purchase a separate volume which includes many recipes). In order to be thorough, there is quite a bit of technical information - but you don't have to fully understand that detailed information to incorporate the principles of the program. — — I do take exception to the author's recommendations to use synthetic foods such as...

This was an easy-to-use cleanse program. The tea tastes fine. My only difficulty with it was the mornings. While it wasn't harsh or painful and didn't create extreme urgency, I did need to be close to a bathroom for the first couple of hours each day, as it usually took 2 or 3 trips to empty out. — — I would order this again. —...

opus88 says "It works!" about Hyland Arnica Montana 100c

I am a huge believer in homeopathic remedies, as I have had great success with such. — — Arnica montana is terrific for muscle pulls. I twisted my back a few evenings ago during a rehearsal, and when I arrived home about 3 hours later I was extremely uncomfortable. I took a dose of arnica montana and went to bed shortly after. The next day I had forgotten it even happened. That next evening I was in rehearsal in exactly the same situation to cause another pull, and I was a little concerned that it would re-aggravate it. But nothing. The arnica took care of it thoroughly. — — These quick-dissolve tablets are terrific, but if I need to carry a homeopathic remedy with me (such as nux vomica for stomach upset) I have to use another brand that uses the hard pellets so they won't disintegrate in my purse or backpack. —...

opus88 says "Keeps dropping wi-fi calls." about Nokia - 6086 Cell Phone

We purchased this phone because of the wi-fi capability. All calls that connect via wi-fi do not count against our minutes. Since we live nowhere near any of our family members, this has represented a savings for us on our monthly plan. — — We do not use this phone for texting or pictures or anything else beyond phone calls. But even when sitting directly in front of the router, the call will just disconnect. Sometimes it will almost immediately disconnect when dialing back after the initial call, taking up to 4 attempts before the call will hold. — — The battery life is very short, so we are constantly recharging. And without any audible battery warning, we often get caught off-guard and cannot return a dropped call for 2-3 minutes after plugging it into the charger. — — We are unhappy with this phone and would not recommend it. —...
