nuzlady says "Accepted at almost everywhere, it pays to use it." about American Express - Costco Credit Card

We live in a rapidly expanding area where more and more businesses are springing up every week. When the Costco opened less than five minutes from our home, we were already Sam's Club members, but we decided to join there as well since they were including a gas station with the new Costco. When told we qualified for the AmEx Costco card we accepted since we did not have a credit applied ot our Sam's Club membership. We have really enjoyed the cash back on the AmEx card and we have really enjoyed the newer rewards of 3% on the gas at Costco - they are usually a few cents cheaper and the pennies back on every dollar spent using the card has made us a charge-it-on-AmEx, pay it off each month family. We reap the rewards of having good credit, getting a major refund once a year and enjoying the "prestige" of being a card member. It has worked beautifully for us. The only drawback is that everyone will not take the card - we sometimes cannot get the rewards because certain establishments......

nuzlady says "The darker the roast, the more I like it." about Folgers Black Silk

I saw this advertised in the coupon section of the Sunday paper and wanted to taste it but the stores here did not get it in before the coupon expired. I threw away the coupon and almost forgot about it. My husband who usually goes to the store with me to buy groceries was on the coffee aisle and saw it in the small can (plastic) and asked about the coupon I had been wanting to use. That one had expired but another one had come out with just the Coffeehouse selections and I saw that this was one of those so we bought it. I love the dark and woodsy scent of the coffee and the flavor is very mild. I am not always a big Folgers fan but this one has me back in their corner. I really like this one....

nuzlady says "It quickly gets me rolling in the morning" about Mr. Coffee TF4 4-Cup Coffee Maker

My husband bought me this one when my old faithful no-name-brand bit the dust a couple of months ago. I had not had a Mr. Coffee product for years because the first few I had burned out so quickly compared to other brands I bought later and the coffee was so hot that I had to wait to drink it. This little pot is just right for me. I mamke one pot a day and the cup I use gets filled twice from the carafe and I turn it off. I really like this one - I'm glad my husband brought this one home."...

nuzlady says "Some good, some bad - not sure why." about ProFlowers.com

I ordered flowers for both my mother and my mother-in-law from ProFlowers this Mother's Day. I had had trouble with bad flowers through FTD last time I shopped so I opted to change suppliers. FTD was very nice about replacing the flowers for my mother-in-law and my mom's were just fine. The same thing happened with ProFlowers - my mom's were fresh, lively and beautiful. Hers were put on the truck at 6:20 am in Spartanburg, SC and received at 11 am. Mother-in-law's were put on a truck at 2 am in California and not delivered until 3:30 that afternoon to Fountain Valley. I honestly believe the extended time on the truck contributes to the short life of the California deliveries. We are not close enough to either mom to order in person but I have read that the delivery of local florists are getting better reviews than the ones done through the internet. I might have to test that theiry next occasion - I remember the one in my home town but do not know of any in Fountain...
...

nuzlady says "Their cream of crab soup is unique and worth the drive." about Gunning's Seafood Restaurant - Hanover, MD

We moved to our first condo after two years in an apartment in Laurel, MD and we did not find a good local seafood restaurant in Laurel so we were looking for one we could depend on when the seafood craving hit us. We like Red Lobster but we wanted to find a local , not franchised, restaurant. Within 10 miles of Elkridge we found a dozen reataurants that claimed the best Maryland Crab Cakes so we decided to visit a few and see what the claims meant. Literally next door to Gunning's is Timbuktu which claims the crab cake crown but we wanted to try Gunnning's first. Our trip to Gunning's was delightful. Our waitress recommended a bowl of their cream of crab soup and we decided to order a bowl and share it. I have no idea what their recipe is like but the soup is totally unique. It has to have cream whipped and added in because the soup is like a meringue on top and the liquid underneath the whipped top is also delicious. We almost asked for another bowl of soup......

nuzlady says "An interesting way to watch the movies" about Movico Egyptian 24 - Hanover, MD

The theme of this move complex is Egyptian and it has all of the trimmings - statuary, wall decorations, walls are covered in tapestries that reflect the theme - and the fun is contagious. I have been seeing movies there for five years now and there are no bad seats unless you do not like the floor-level seats within a few feet of the screen.

Seats do allow you to lean back a little and are equipped with drink holders on the chair arms which can be raised out of the way. Most new movies premiere in several of the 24 theaters so there is almost always one showing the newest movies on the hour. Tickets may be purchased from the office or the kiosks on the outside. Game rooms are provided if the movie is not seating when you arrive. Muvico also has a birthday bash section where children can have a party, and attend the movie as a group. And, parents can usually find a friendly employee to man the playroom so that the parents can watch the movie and keep an eye on the children...
...
