It has a temp setting, so if you have fragile hair you can turn down the temp.  My biggest problem with this iron is that it tends to die after about a year of use.  I have personally been through 4 and my sister and best friend have been through a couple also.  I finally splurged on a professional Paul Mitchell and havent had any problems with this one.... I started using it to try to correct some brassyness I was getting in my blond hair.  I also had quite a bit of breakage and this helped protect it like none other.  The smell isnt the greatest, but if your hair is in really bad shape, you dont really worry too much about smell anyway.  It is kind of pricey, but completely worth the price.  After using this shampoo and condtioner and the deep condtioner on a daily basis for a few months, my hair started to look healthier than it ever has before.  I eventually didn't even need to used it every day and switched to using it a couple of times a week.... And if you dont feel like using the spin feature, you just don't turn it on.  All the parts come apart for easy cleaning, but as will any fryer, clean up is kind of a big job. ...
