numind says "Let the Kids Play" about Rockstar Music Education

This program is a great way for kids to get exposed to playing musical instruments in a fun, modern context. They get to play as a band, learning rock songs on guitar, drums, bass, keyboards, and vocals. The kids really enjoy it. And at the end of the year, they get to perform in front of the parents.
...

numind says "Forget the Movie, Read This" about The Black Dahlia

This book blows the movie out of the water. After reading this, I realize that the movie should never have been made. James Ellroy has a great ability to capture the flavor of Los Angeles in the 1940's. Or at least I imagine he does, as I wasn't born then. The book has a great emotional life to it. You really feel like you're witnessing a different time period. The only drawback with some of Ellroy's novels is that he can go in for a bit of shock value at the end. But it is still a very enjoyable ride. The characters are likeable and engaging.
...

numind says "Get It While You Can" about Panasonic - SA-XR55S Receiver

I'm a musician with a very discriminating ear. And I am incredibly happy with this soon-to-be-discontinued digital receiver from Panasonic. It has a myriad of connections and much better sound quality than most receivers twice as expensive. It is still available on Amazon for about $170--a big price drop--as the next generation of receivers is right around the corner. It provides great 5.1 and is able to handle either 6.1 or 7.1 (I'm not sure as I don't have the speakers for it anyway). The only drawback is that it doesn't pass HDMI, but for this low price, you can't really expect it to do so.
...

numind says "Great For Music" about Apple MacBook Pro

Finally, I'm free to work on music outside of my bedroom. I can actually take this on-the-go for recording sessions or even mix down sessions at a coffee shop. The processing power is now pretty comparable to my old G5 dual processor desktop. Running Logic 8, I'm a vert happy camper. The computer does get a bit hot, but there is a program called SMC Fan Control that you can download (search Google), which lets you manually control the fan speed. I've been very happy since then.
...

numind says "It Saved My Back" about Tempurpedic Classic Mattress

My back would sometimes hurt when I woke up. So I tried researching a lot of different mattresses. I read all of the reviews and I went to about 6 or 7 different mattress stores. Finally, I decided on the Tempur-Pedic Classic. And I have never slept so well. It really cushions your body while you sleep. As a result my back feels about 70% better.
...
