njangel says "What a piece of junk!!" about Dell Inspiron 1545

I used to be a faithful Dell buyer, but as of this week Dell has lost another customer! I have a 1 year old Dell laptop, a lightbulb burned out in it. They wanted $400 to fix it (turns out it is a $20 part!), so I decided to get a new lighter laptop, the Inspiron 1545.

I have not had the laptop for 2 weeks when the problems started happening - it lost the network and could not locate it. It dropped programs that the computer came with. It had all kinds of error messages on all kinds of stuff.

Try to get someone in the US on the phone, I was routed to India or somewhere that had people who really thick accents who could barely understand me. Four hours later (one disconnected me while waiting for the computer to boot up, one told me I did not have warranty coverage - I HAVE A ONE YEAR WARRANTY AND THE DAMN THING IS TWO WEEKS OLD!!), by the time I got to the third guy I was fuming. At that point all I wanted to know was how to return the piece of junk and get a full refund. He did not know,...
...

njangel says "The Best Fried, yes I said FRIED, Calzone!!" about Corelone's - Hamilton, NJ

A new little pizza place has opened its doors on South Olden Avenue where a jewelry store used to be, it's name is Corleone's. My folks had ordered a couple of pies from them last Thursday, Pop called me to come on ove and have some because they bought too much. The pizza was very good, nice crispy thin crustm, well seasoned sauce that has little to no trace of acidity, in my opinion they definitely have one of the better pies in the area - I would say they rank in my top 3.

So today, with the storm looming and unhappy thoughts of not being able to smoke some ribs out on the smoker, I decided to head on over to Corleone's to see what else their menu had to offer. To my very happy delight they have fried calzones.

Now, most people in the area have never even seen a fried calzone, but I know that is the right way to make one. Baked calzones, although tasty, tend to sit very heavy and have an almost bread like quality. Fried calzones on the other hand, are light and airy. They don't......

njangel says "Terminator Salvation offers nothing" about Terminator Salvation

Some friends and I headed over to the AMC in Hamilton as we try to do every Friday morning to get the cheaper price ($6). Today, our pick was Terminator Salvation. My one friend was really excited to see it, the other and I were curious how it was going to play out.

Yeah this movie is jam packed with big explosions, but it is also full of the cheesy lines were remember from the first three movies, "I'll be back." There was no explanation, no salvation, no real action. The storyline was weak and held a whole lot of inconsistancies. Thank God it was only an hour and fifty four minutes, because we all wanted to fall asleep.

Christian Bale was his usual brooding self, it was hard to tell between his batman character and his John Connor character. The kid who plays Chechov in the Star Trek movies was also in this playing no other than Kyle Reese, he was pretty good. Star Trek was a million times better and if you are in the mood for a sci-fi action flick, see that one again and again because...
...

njangel says "Fashion Bug has become a Fashion DON'T" about Fashion Bug - Hamilton Township, NJ

It used to be one went to Fashion Bug to pick up nice, hip clothes and even work attire. The clothes were nice and the prices were very reasonable. I don't shop for clothes very often, I guess I am the anti-woman when it comes to that stereotype, but when I go I end up spending at least a couple of hundred dollars on seriously awesome outfits or whatever I need.

I don't know what has happened to Fashion Bug, but they went from being trendy to being old lady. The clothing styles are now more like something my grandmother would wear and the place is packed with it, you can barely walk around the store and see what is available. The dresses look more like housecoats, the t-shirts are such a baggy cut that no matter what your shape and size, you look like a blob. They have little to no shorts, the skorts are all gone, and forget about trying to find a skirt. The prices are outrageous - $30 for a pair of shorts or ugly, blob shirt.

No wonder why they have so many stores closing up, I know...
...

njangel says "The End of An Era" about Casino's Restaurant - Morrisville, PA

Most people who have lived in the Hamilton/Trenton area know about Italian Hot Dogs. The orinator of this delicious sandwich made of the best Torpedo roll, a hot dog, giant potato cuts and green peppers all topped with strategicly placed mustard was Casino's Restaurant. They first introduced at the Festival of the Lights in Chambersburg over 60 years ago.

Since that time many have tried to reproduce it, but never, ever get it right - they add onions, make the potatoes too small, slice up the hot dog, put ketchup on it, and of course do not get the rolls from the right bakery, Barbero's if I remember correctly.

Over the years, the family that owned Casino's had opened at least two other restaurants, one was called Tony Goes on South Olden Avenue, I know because I worked there decades ago and the other was a second Casino's in Morrisville. Tony Goes was run by one of the grandsons, and the second Casino's was run by a neice of the family.

Tony Goes closed up shop in the 1990s. Casino's...
...

njangel says "Definitely does not live up to the hype" about Twilight - The Movie

So many people told me I had to watch the movie "Twilight" saying it was the best movie they ever saw. I waited for it to hit my Netflix list and made sure I got it the day it was released.

There are several hours of my movie-loving life I will never get back. There was little to no action. The lead actor who played Edward was one of the strangest looking boys I have ever seen with his overly square head and too large eyes and what the hell is with the pompador!

The lead actress who played Isabella kept making me wonder what her problem was. Everyone in her new school was accepting and very nice to her and she always maintained this standoffish, rude, wannabe loner mentality, even with her own parents who obviously loved and adored her.

There was almost no action in this movie what so ever, it was all lingering looks and glaring stares trying to portray some type of feelings that never really made it across. Thank God I had so much caffine in me or I would have fallen asleep, instead...
...

njangel says "Looking for a great place in Hamilton, NJ - Graziella is it!" about Graziella Ristorante - Hamilton, NJ

On Sunday, my family took my dad and I out to celebrate our birthdays. Pop and I choose Graziella Ristorante in the Nottingham Village on Nottingham Way in Hamilton. We were greeted by one of the owners, a very old friends of mine, Anthony and Michael Hardwick, still as dashing as every (and no they did not bribe me to say that nor any of the following).

Walking into Graziella, the colors, the music, the pictures and stencil on the walls, all of it made for a warm, welcome atmosphere. The tables were not placed too close together so couples could enjoy a more intimate feeling. The overall ambiance made you feel comfortable and happy.

We had to wait for my brother and future sister-in-law as usual, but while we did, we had a chance to peruse the menu. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable, answering all of our questions with clear and exact answers.

When Sean and Sarah finally did arrive, they brought the wine as Graziella is a BYOB establishment. The wait staff promptly removed......

njangel says "Applebee's should be renamed Crapplebee's" about Applebee's - Hamilton, NJ

I just wanted to let everyone know that I will no longer be going to Applebee's. I am tired of the poor service and poor food quality that I have been getting especially at the one on Route 33, Hamilton Township, NJ.

February 17, 2008 was the last straw. My guest and I arrived at Applebee's at 8:50 p.m. It was slow, maybe 5 tables seated and two people at the bar. My guest and I ordered water to drink and my guest also ordered a hot tea. At the same time, we placed our orders. I got the half-size Oriental fried chicken salad and my guest ordered the Chicken Fajita Rollup. After we placed our order three tables were seated and two left.

I timed the delivery time, it took 20 minutes to receive our water and tea (the server forgot the cream for the tea, another 5 minute wait), we had to ask for straws. It took an additional 15 minutes to get our food order, the other three tables who came in after us and ordered after us received their food orders before we did. When we did finally receive our......

njangel says "The only diet that is not a diet and really works!" about Weight Watchers

My entire life I have never been considered a thin girl. I topped out at 220 lbs. when I talked my mother into joining Weight Watchers, mainly because I was concerned about her health, she used to be thin and put on a lot of weight in the past few years. She had tried a lot of different diets - Atkins, The James Coco Diet, pills, South Beach, NutriSystem. I watched her try them all. Some worked for a while, but in the end she always gained the weight back because none of these diets taught her how to eat right. None of them taught portion control. They all either eliminated something necessary or her on disgusting tasting pre-packaged foods.

We started Weight Watchers together in February, we both chose the Flex Plan because we do enjoy fine dining in restaurants and not limiting the types of food we want to eat. We have learned to watch our portions by point counting to the degree where we are no longer conscience of it. We love to cook and try all kinds of new recipes we find in the various......

njangel says "Born to be a collector's item!" about Volkswagen Cabrio - 2002

I don't know why Volkswagon ever stopped making this sporty little model! It handles great, looks fantastic and gets great gas mileage. For a used car, which is the only way you can buy it now, in mint condition, it is worth every single penny. All I get are compliments on the style and the way it handles and moves. Granted, this is not a family car as it only fits four and the back seat is not for tall people by any stretch of the imagination, but the trunk is roomier than it looks, the sound system stands up to the wind with the top down, the heated seats are incredible! I highly recommended this car, but not if you are going to give it to your kid as a first car - after all the first car is the one that always gets destroyed and this little baby deserved to be well taken care of....
