Signing Time is a wonderful series, created by the talented Rachel Coleman. I use these videos in my Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes to reinforce the signs I am teaching the children. (We use ASL on a daily basis in our hearing classroom to build literacy skills.) The children (and I, their teacher) love these dvds! Each one is created to teach 2 to 3 dozen signs related to a specific theme. Watch Signing Time with Alex and Leah today!...

Do you like musicals? If so, then Newsies is the musical for you! My sister and I grew up watching this movie...and it is still one of our favorites. With catchy songs sung by a talented all boy cast (starring Christian Bale and David Moscow), this movie is a delight. Whether tapping your toes to "King of New York" or singing along to "Sieze the Day," your whole family will enjoy this musical based on the Newsboys strike of the early 1900s.

I received both the large and small Pampered Chef Microwave Cookers as a gift. These items have proven invaluable time and time again. While the large one is nice, I prefer using the small microwave cooker. It is the perfect size to melt better - without any splatters. It is also wonderfully for steamed vegetables - simply tilt the pot and drain the water off through the steam holes before serving. The price also makes these cookers affordable....

I grew up using my Mother's Betty Crocker cookbook, so this was one of the first cookbooks I bought when setting out on my own. I, of course, own the updated version! There are many great recipes in this book - for beginners and accomplished cooks alike. One of my favorite features is the fresh vegetable cooking chart. This chart provides a list of exactly how long to cook each vegetable, whether on the stove or microwave, as well as how to prepare the vegetable for cooking. This cookbook is a wonderful addition to any kitchen!...

I received my undergrad degree (a Bachelors of Science in Education) from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. The people at Concordia are absolutely wonderful!
