neonfish says "durable, fun, fabulous" about Melissa and Doug Alphabet Train 27pc Floor Puzzle

The Melissa and Doug train puzzle is a favorite in my home. It helps teach educational ideas in a fun way. Each letter has it's own car for the train. The child needs to learn alphabetical order in order to make the train pieces fit together. The lettered cars are filled with things beginning with that letter of the alphabet. For example. the A car is filled with apples. This is great for kids to not only learn their alphabet, but also to begin learning some basic phonics skills.

Once the train is complete put together, my son used to drive it along the house yelling "choo choo!". Even though the train is very long when fully assembled, it stays together while riding on it's "tracks". He could take it all along the wood floor and make believe that he was the conductor for the world's longest train. I can imagine him wearing a little conductor's hat while playing with this toy.

Once the child is finished playing, they can easily take the puzzle apart and put it back into the sturdy box....
...

neonfish says "fun and educational device" about Leapster Learning System

The Leapster is a handheld gaming system for preschool and elementary aged students. The device is powered by batteries (which can get pricey and can lead to problems when the batteries run out in the middle of a trip) and has several buttons for the power, moving up, down, right, left, and menu buttons.

We have a few games to go with the Leapster gaming system. We have a drawing program, a Kindergarten program, a "Cars" program. Although they all help reinforce educational skills, some are much better than others. The Kindergarten program, for example, is teaching my son basic subtraction skills already.

The Leapster gaming device is beloved by my 5 year old. He can play them for 15+ minutes at a time (which is perfect because it is not too much, not too little). The games are educational and fun. The device is not terribly expensive and has proven to be very durable in spite of several droppings. Great product!
...

neonfish says "I buy these as wedding gifts for everyone!" about Pyrex Pyrex 18-Piece Set

The Pyrex 18-Piece set makes for a fabulous addition to any kitchen. The thick glass structure is very sturdy and has shown no wear and tear over the last decade. The lids are snug fitting and have not been damaged, in spite of microwaving, freezing, and dishwashing. We got ours early on in our marriage over 11 years ago. Now I buy the Pyrex sets for most of my friends on their wedding days. They are so practical that I figure any family can use these containers. They are great for baking, microwaving, freezing, and storing. You can't go wrong with any of these! My favorite of all the Pyrex's is the small/medium size rectangle pan. It is the perfect size for making thick and chewy brownies. I wish I had four of them to make many batch after batch of goodies. I was recently in the store looking for some extras so that I could add them to my collection. I have no complaints except that I do not own more!
...

neonfish says "Best pans I've ever had" about Circulon set

The Circulon pan set is the best set of pans I have ever used. We received ours when we married 11+ years ago and have been adding to these pans ever since. They are bare-none the best we have ever had. If I had unlimited money, I would buy every product that this company makes!

The Circulon pans cook magnificently and really are non-stick. I use mine for stir-frying, boiling pasta, making sauces, etc. Although many of the things that I cook are very sticky, I rarely have any difficulties cleaning the pans. The only times I have trouble are when I actually burn something onto the bottom of the pan.

The Circulon pans come a large variety of sizes and can be purchased with perfectly fitting lids. The depth of the pans is particularly helpful for cooking large meals and my favorite pan ever is a very, very deep skillet. If you can afford to get several of these pans, you will not regret your purchase!
...

neonfish says "What a fabulous machine!" about Dyson DC14 Animal Vacuum

The Dyson Animal is a fabulous product! After hearing person after person rave about these vacuum cleaners, I leaped on a chance to buy one at an employee discount from a co-worker. I received my vacuum quickly and was instantly pleased. It literally cleans up every bit of dust on the floor. Even when we think a room is fairly clean after doing a visual scan of the room, the filled up canister (there is no bag) reveals all the dust, dirt, and hair that our eyes had missed. The ball feature for maneuvering the Dyson Animal is amazing and makes it much easier to get around furniture and makes vacuuming much easier. Even my 5 year old son can help vacuum with this machine! The negatives of this device are the weight of the machine and the cord which seems to get in the way often. It would be really helpful if the Dyson had a retractable cord feature instead of needing to manually wind it up after each use.
...
