musicalgenius88 says "Avira beats the competition hands-down." about Avira avira antivir

As an avid Mac user, I was faced with one of the worst things that could happen: I had to give up my MacBook Pro. Granted, it was never mine to begin with. I was using it to finish a movie score and after the score was finished, I had to relenquish the laptop. The producer, however, chose to thank me by giving me an entry-level Acer, thinking this would be an acceptable substitute. I'd heard all the scare stories of having to buy high-priced anti-virus software, and was determined to make the Acer useful and as worry-free as possible for me.

That meant getting anti-virus software. On the Mac, I'd used a free program called ClamXav, an open-source antivirus program, just to make sure I wasn't forwarding infected emails and files. I downloaded the Windows equivalent, ClamWin, and after two weeks, began to notice problems with my computer being slow and sluggish, and Flock was coming up with strange windows.

I started to do some research then, and downloaded AVG's free program. It seemed to...
...

musicalgenius88 says "Delightful--might even convert non-coffee drinkers" about Gevalia Hazelnut

For those not initiated in the Gevalia experience, they are one of the original mail-order coffee firms, and the coffee is not available in stores. For the hassle of mail-order--which Gevalia makes as painless and flexible as possible, you'll find much higher quality coffee than the national mass-market brands, and similar or better quality than most premium brands, and probably better quality than your local coffeehouse. The 8 oz. ubiquitous box makes a great gift for coffee lovers. They have many roasts and flavor available, but the hazelnut coffee is beyond question the best of their flavored coffees. A smooth, medium-light blend of arabica beans helps balance and carry the flavor. The pronounced hazelnut aroma as you are brewing the coffee is a joy to smell. There is a slightly sweet flavor to the hazelnut, so you may not have to add as much sweetener as you normally do, if you use sweetener. Even if you normally do not use creamers, this flavor benefits from either half & half, whole......

musicalgenius88 says "InDesign and Quark had better look out ..." about Scribus Project Group Scribus 1.4 Aqua

As a self-publisher of printed music materials and a former editor with 3 music publishing companies, I am familiar with several DTP programs, including PageMaker, QuarkXpress, InDesign, Pages, and Ragtime. I learned about Scribus about 2 months ago and decided to try using it partially because my current operating budget would not allow me to upgrade my copy of PageMaker to InDesign, and because several of my publishing projects are being released through the GNU Free Document License--which means that using as many open source products as possible helps those who want to use the materials in their own projects.

Scribus is available in the 1.3.3.9 version for Linux variants and for Windows, and in the 1.4 version for Mac users. This presents a difficulty from the start, as anything saved in the 1.4 format becomes unreadable by previous versions. Downloads are easy and fast for broadband users.

Scribus has a familiar interface for anyone who has used DTP programs in the past. Support for...
...
