momma1966 says "Don't let the wind blow!" about Dish network

Well...we will see after today. Had them come out today and move the receiver. We have had a ton of trouble with customer service not wanting to come out and mess with the receiver. We have had the satellite for 8 years and no one has ever been willing to actually come to the house and work on it. Customer service phone always wants to walk you through moving your own satellite system while they are on the phone. We have had lines on our second tv since day one and were told that it was something we would just have to deal with and we have for 8 years. — Recently, we had a major storm blow through and we completely lost our satellite system. We had two choices...call Dishnetwork again and walk through it on the phone or call cable and have them hook up. I didn't want the hassle of that so I called Dish but this time I refused them to walk me through it and demanded they come out and move my system and then they wanted to charge me for...

momma1966 says "Good beginner phone" about Virgin Mobile

This was a good beginner phone for my daughter to learn responsibility with. Not an every day use phone as prepaid gets very expensive, quickly! They have great plans for beginners but don't expect to use it every day. Also good for quick trips where you don't want roaming charges per se. — I also purchased one for my grandmother who took occasional trips. Problem with this is she didn't use all the minutes in the alloted time and then she didn't put more time on in the 90 days and it was just a hassle and we ended up wasting lots of money! Tried to get them to transfer the leftover minutes to my daughters phone and this was to no avail as we watched the minutes sit there and eventually just disappear in to thin air as she never used them! —...

momma1966 says "Very pretty car...hate the brakes! Would not buy another one" about Chevrolet MOnte Carlo SS - 2003

I love my car....I hate my brakes! Ever since the first week that I have had my car, I have been trying to get someone to replace my brakes. Now, I know that there is nothing wrong with them, but they squeak!!! I am tired of my brakes squeaking. The dealer told me, and showed me in the book, that it is one of the drawbacks of the Chevy Monte Carlo. Whatever!!! Just give me a good brakejob and make them stop squeaking! Geez. — Other than that, I like my car. I didn't really want a long car like this. I wanted a small compact car. I am only 5' tall and this seems like a long car but it looks good. It turns like a semi though! Don't try to make a sharp turn...you'll end up backing up and trying it again! — They are long and sleek. Ton's of room inside..front, back and trunk...windows in back are very small though..not much to look out of! Don't think I would buy another...

Cafemom has been very helpful for many reasons...mostly helps me keep my sanity. It has many different groups to join. Just depends on who YOU are!! You join only the groups that interest you. You make a page about who you are and invite other moms to become your friend. You can chat with other moms. It is a mother's only website. You can be a stepmother are a birthmother. Men are not allowed on here at all. If you don't want drama, don't join a group with drama in it. There are many out there that are just for fun groups, then there are groups for the serious natured items! There is a huge range of groups! Sports groups to sewing groups to stepparenting to dealing with death to questions about sex!
momma1966 says "We saved $500 and got a rental car!" about Priceline

If you don't have to be there at a certain time....Priceline is perfect. The only drawback is you don't get to chose the airline or the flight! You do, however, get to chose the date and the airport, which to me are the two most important factors. — My husband, recently, had to fly back to Illinois from Alabama, rather quickly. His father was having open heart surgery. I went to the major airline websites and they wanted approximately $500-800+ for this round trip ticket plus he needed to rent the car for the week! I told hubby that it was just out of our price range as we are planning a vacation next month and daughter is graduating this month! Well, I tried one more thing, I went to kayak.com and they found a price at priceline.com for $300 and told me to bid on it so I did. Would you know that included a car as well! Now, as I mentioned earlier, it did not tell us who the car was with or the airline, but it did use the airport...

momma1966 says "Great little car...great gas mileage..great service" But yellow"" about Avis

Hubby had to go back last minute for his dad's open heart surgury. Tickets were outrageous...so I went to priceline and bid on a ticket that included rental car. Got a great deal! Was a bit leary of it though was afraid that when he got into Chicaog the rental car would not be there or if it was...it would be a piece of crap! Well, he knew he was going to get a bottom of the line car since it was included in the very low price we got for the priceline bid..he was ok with that! He actually got a very nice Chevy Cobalt...only problem was it was yellow...and driving a yellow car through downtown Chicago at 5 pm on a Thursday...LOL!!!! That was not his idea of fun!!! Other than that...the service was great. They bussed him to and from the airport so no excessive walking or carrrying of his luggage. The employees were very friendly! He is a very tall man and maybe could have used a larger car but they did offer him an upgrade if he...

We live near this (20 miles) and when my sone was 3/5 years old we went every other Tuesday. That was our date!!! He absolutely enjoyed it and we never grew tired of it. They are always updating and adding new planes or areas of education. They have really spent alot of money and time creating "war areas" to educate the public. — They have "war specific" areas where you will be educated about specific times and era's and this makes it especially interesting. You don't have to go to every nook and cranny if you are not interested in that particular time frame...move on to the next that does interest you! They also have space ship corner where they have close up space vessels used! Wow!!! How cool is that! — Upstairs they have a walk through area that is designed like you are back in the world war II era and taking a walk through the time and age of then. You get to see what the stores looked like then and the homes and movie...

If I could spend one day in her shoes, my days would never again be the same! I think that Janet must have one heck of an imagination to be able to dream up a life for someone to live like this!!! Grandma is my all time favorite character in this book. I just love all the scenes she gets herself into!!! She can make me laugh no matter what kind of mood I am in! — I read Janet's books inbetween my more serious books, Debbie McComber, James Patterson or John Grisham! They are great breaks! I have not found a bad series yet! —...

I love James Patterson but this was not one of his better books.. actually I have been known to call in sick to finish one of his books in a matter of a day or tow but this one literally took me 2 weeks to read..just could not get into it! Look forward to reading the 7th bookin the Women's murder club...

momma1966 says "Love the perks" about MyPoints

I have been a member of Mypoints since 1999. I have accumulated lifetime of well over 41,000 points and cash them in as I need them. I have used them for hotel gift cards when I took my trip to Colorado otherwise, I usually cash them in at Christmas time and hand out gift cards. I live thousands of miles from family and these make great gifts as they fit nicely in cards...cuts back on shipping. The best part is they did not cost me a dime. — Basically, this site is where you start your online purchase. You get "points" credited for items you were planning on purchasing anyways. Generally, I do all my christmas and birthday shopping for my kids on here and then I also have them send "bonus mail" to my email address and I click through these and gain additional points so that by Christmas time I have points to cash in and get free $25 gift cards to places like Old Navy and Home Depot. — This year, though, I am...
