mollysmommy says "Natural remedy for teething. " about Hyland's homeopathic teething tablets

I was introduced to Hyland's by some veteran mom friends. Hyland's "had me at hello" so to speak. Seriously. Teething rings don't do anything for my kids. The orajel stuff and the like? Um, no. I put it on my gum once...or tried to. It got all over my mouth EXCEPT where I put it and my mouth was all numb and felt weird for about an hour. That went right into the trash after my experiment...I figured if as a 31 year old I wasn't able to get the gels on where I needed them most how was I supposed to get them on my baby's gums when she wouldn't just let me put a finger in her mouth? We went to hylands, and never looked back. I'm on my third baby and I think I've given about 10 bottles of Hylands as gifts to date- every shower I go to, I bring a little bottle. Moms need to know about these glorious little tablets of wonder. Dads, too. My kids quickly learn how great the teething tablets are -- my first 2 would open their mouths like a little bird when they saw the...
...

mollysmommy says "Great looking water bottles, company not so great. " about Sigg Water Bottle

We originally got a Sigg for our now 4 year old when the BPA stuff first came out in the media. They advertised as being BPA free so along with so many others, we ran and got them. The ABC bottle was so cute with its little glow in the dark flippy lid that I ended up investing in one for me and one for my husband as well. When our now 2 year old started with sppies we got one for him. About 6 weeks ago we were very upset to see that Sigg bottles made up until a certain time in 2008 (the date escapes me right now, googling this issue should remedy that) have BPA in their lining. All 4 of our Sigg bottles that we've loved and used all day every day for 2 years have the darker, old style, BPA linings. These bottles ARE easy to use. They work great. The tops are great and user friendly. Its just the lining and the company's sketchy practices that are not so great. Shame on them for advertising themselves as BPA free when they weren't. I emailed Sigg and they said if I...
...

mollysmommy says "So versatile- and so effective!!" about Aquaphor Healing Ointment

We have used so many tubs and tubes of this in our house since discovering Aquaphor in the summer of 2005 that I think I've finally lost count. My 4 year old uses aquaphor on the skin below her bottom lip at bedtime and naptime daily, because she's a "lip licker" and its always raw, cracking and chapped under there if we don't....if we DO keep up with the aquaphor, its almost not noticeable what she's doing to her little lip. I got my mom into using aquaphor on her nose where her oxygen tubes rubbed, and it helped her soreness and chapping there as well. We've used this stuff for our 3 kids' diaper areas, keeping cheeks/chins/noses and lips from getting chapped in the cold, harsh weather (we live in CT and play outside for long periods of time!). Its just such a great product from a great company- no smell, no colored mess, and effective. Can't sing its praises enough! My 34 year old husband uses this without complaint too and he is about the pickiest man I've met to date!!...
...

mollysmommy says "easy to use, easy on baby's delicate skin" about California Baby Diaper Area Wash

California Baby Diaper Area Wash is great. It helps me clean my baby's diaper area without worry that there's harmful chemicals touching her sensitive skin. A bonus is that it smells great. Cali. baby stuff isn't cheap, but if you watch for sales and comparison shop you can usually find *some* kind of deal. Plus, using this with a baby washcloth that can be washed and used over and over again means long term, you save money.
...

mollysmommy says "Great disposable alternative- easy to use!!" about Bum Genius Bum Genius 3.0 Diapers Diapers

We were introduced to BG 3.0's to use on my heavy wetter (then 1 year old) for nighttime use. We've used gdiapers for about 18 months now but nothing we were doing was working to keep him dry at night at all. So we tried the BG's. They make up about a third of our whole diaper stash now!! I love that you can add extra inserts- so with my heavy wetter, we could put up to FOUR inserts in there, and keep him dry overnight. Normally BG's are pretty trim fit and not bulky but obviously with 4 inserts, they are bulky. But they work. I just wish they had snap closure on the waist on ALL BG's not just the organic ones- then they'd be just about perfect. We have both the 'regular' and the 'fleece' inside BG's and I will be honest, I far prefer the fleece. It just seems like its more comfortable for the baby to wear next to the skin.
...

We love our thirsties covers. Really wish they came in prints. We use them with prefolds, fitted diapers, and gdiaper disposable inserts and they are great. We've not had a leak with wet or dirty diapers to date (the baby we're using them on is 8 weeks)

we got a summer infant video monitor in anticipation of the arrival of our third child. oddly, now that she's here, we're using the monitor to keep an eye on her 4 and 2 year old siblings who share a room (and frequently rebel against bedtime). its been fantastic. might not be the clearest picture in the world but its enough for us to see their shenanigans and bust them for it !!
...

Triple paste was recommended to me when my oldest, now 4, was just a month old. I bawked at the price but since it'd been rec'd by so many people in so many places, I got a small container of it. We're on our 4th tub and our 3rd kid- and I recommend this stuff to anyone. Its gotten us through some horrible diaper rashes through the years!! We've not yet seen a diaper rash it couldn't help
...

We got the SLR bug when we couldn't get a good shot of our toddler because she was always on the move. A good friend is a wedding photographer and she uses Canons, which is where we started with our research. After trying both Canon and Nikon SLR's we ended up with the Canon. In under a year we've added a zoom lens and will soon be adding a wide angle lens to our collection....

We recently were introduced to g diapers. We were hooked, and haven't looked back. These hybrid diapers are just a great option for people wanting to try cloth but find it intimidating. They are easy to use, and not really more expensive than using disposables. We only use the disposable inserts when we are out and about, and use cloth inserts at home to save further. ...

We tried the MAM bottles after all of the BPA information started being released. They are the best fit for our budget. If you don't get the white insert in correctly, the bottles leak like a sieve, but otherwise, they are great. (Although the boy colors are much harder to find than girls!)...
