miche28 says "All show" about Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP

We bought this with our daughter in 2004 - as part of a whole Peg system. It's an OK carseat, but it has two "features" that new parents may not realize are a big minus:

- 26" limit: most carseats I've seen since have a limit of between 28" and 30". This doesn't seem like a big deal until you realise that the difference could up to a couple months of use depending on how heavy/tall your baby is.

- must use base, can't use belts. Again, this doesn't seem like a big deal, but if you travel or use someone else's car you have to lug the base around with you, whereas most carseats can be used with a belt.

So, it's ok, but you're paying lots for the name and not really getting a top-notch product.
...

miche28 says "Excellent, light weight stroller" about Maclaren Quest Stroller

This is a great lightweight stroller and the cons are far outweighed by the pros (except maybe price). It's not really suitable for a baby who can't up (6 months +), but we've travelled all over with this and it's ideal for both long and short trips. The recline means kiddo can sleep easily, but you're not going to break your back carrying her up the stairs!

The wheels are small, so it's not great on rough terrain, but you have to give something up for the weight. Same for the relatively small storage basket - something's gotta go. One thing they could add is cup holder for water bottles - but you buy those anywhere and add on.

All around, a good buy that will last you a good long time!
...

miche28 says "You don't need this" about Safety 1st Convertible Complete Care Bath Tub

Ok, for the record, I think baby bathtubs are useless and I wish I had figured that out sooner. Particularly useless is this product which is supposed to convert to a bath seat. It's too shallow, hard to fill and frankly just morte trouble than it's worth. An infant needs to be in deeper water to be washed and a larger baby will create tsunami with these low sides. You're much better off using the bathroom or kitchen sink or lining your big tub with a nice fluffy bath towel and filling with a couple inches of water.

If you must must buy one, then just buy a bath seat - but remember these are among the most dangerous baby items because they can lull you into a false sense of security.

This is one item you don't need to add to your registry!
...
