michbran says "The best kitchen gadget ever!" about Foodsaver

I LOVE the Food-saver! Actually, LOVE is not a strong enough word. This product changed our lives, and life style. — I bought the product thinking that it would allow me to save money by buying more items in bulk at my local warehouse store. At first it was merely for keeping frozen chicken more fresh, and bulk blocks of cheese from turning moldy. Over time I started freezing left overs in the bags, and eventually built up a stock of items in my freezer. What a difference it has made as we now find our selves turning to frozen meals that taste as good, if not better, than the day we cooked them. No additives, no processed meat parts, just good home cooked food. — We have now changed our cooking habits completely, and intentionally cook double or more of what we need for each meal. I now cook an average of 2 times each week, but we manage to eat a different meal every night of the week. — Imagine opening your freezer...

michbran says "This will be my Grandchildren's Mixer! " about KitchenAid Proline K5M5 Mixer

I received as a wedding gift from my husband, and it has gotten him out of the dog house many times! He always reminds me that his love for me will last longer than my Kitchen-aid, and it is built to last a long time! — For bakers, and home chefs this product will revolutionize the way you use your kitchen. I do a lot of baking around the holidays, and birthdays, so this seemed like a great way to expedite those processes. I could double or triple cookies batches, make fluffier cakes, and mix bread without burning out the motor in my Kitchen-aid hand mixer. I never thought I would be the type to make my own pasta, ground my own meat, or even make sausage. However, as years and anniversaries go by I find my self collecting more and more attachments that I could never live without. Grinding my own chicken and beef allows me to control fat content and quality, while saving money. At less than a dollar a box I never would have thought...

michbran says "I never knew how bad my old mattress was until Tempurpedic!" about Tempur-Pedic Classic Mattress

I had watched the commercial for years and had even sent away for the sample, but I never realized what an amazing product it was until I had a chance to sleep just one night on one in a hotel. Normally it would take 30 minutes or more for me to fall asleep - I spent that much time trying to find just the right spot in my bed to be comfortable. However, within in minutes of laying on the Tempurpedic I was asleep - and that has been the case every night for the past 4 years. I also find that I tend to wake up in the position that I originally fell asleep in, indicating that I am not tossing and turning. — I am on my second Tempurpedic pillow and realizing the life span is about 18 months, which is a bit of a down side as they are priced at just under $100 each. Another point that I would consider a bit of a down side is something I learned after getting married - the mattress does tend to hold onto odors. Fabreez once a month seems to do the...
