mg2018 says "A Great thermal label Printer " about Brother QL-570 Thermal Label Printer

The new Brother QL 570 is affordable, offers a wide variety of widths for labels, importing pictures (via your scanner) and producing nice, sharp B&W images .

This would be great for scrap booking, shipping labels, establishing all your business and personal contacts, and more.

There are affordable options for the wide, continual labels with a company who sells excellent deals to purchase bulk spools (doberman.com) and the uses are endless.

Bar Coding also is easy to import and place under your address to ensure prompt delivery throughout the US.

There unit is EZ to setup, and the on-going updates from Brother, offers a nice variety of user designs.

The images, printer text, and large variety of fonts will have the user glad they chose this remarkable printer with no expensive for ink. This is strictly thermal so all that's needed are the spools.
...

mg2018 says "Far superior to most other machines" about Toshiba - DVD RECORDER/VCR

Stand alone DVD recorder's have come down in price but so has much of the workmanship. The Toshiba D-VR610 is still above the mark. What is even more disturbing is that many DVD recorder manufacturer's are no longer installing fans to keep the unit cool. This will surely cut down on the lifespan of your new investment., and if you or others leave the unit on (when inactive or not in use) the lifespan will be considerably shorter even more.

The Toshiba line of Recorder's still have built in fans which cools the laser, the components and will perform for a much longer period.

The Other nice features are that it accepts a good variety of blank discs, either +R , +RW, -minus R and -RW. The unit however does not accept DL, (dual layer discs for recording) but will playback such.

The dubbing also is EZ to setup, and user chooses which direction to record (either to VHS, or DVD) and visa versa.

Another KEY point is that the Toshiba line accepts S-Video rather than just...
...

mg2018 says "A great unit from Samsung, Records HD signals " about Samsung - Samsung DVD R155

This is a very good system which only accepts -Minus discs, however, it plays on most DVD players without a problem (after finalizing discs) .

The Menu and setup is EZ and manual also walks you through all areas

The reproduction of recordings is good, with S-Video input from Cable box or SAT. There are no issues with this recorder

...

mg2018 says "The VCR portion of this combo is a disaster" about Samsung - Samsung DVD VR375

There are many good points for this DVD combo unit, but the biggest disappointment is the poor to disasterous results when dubbing from VHS to DVD. There is a noticeable lag in voice synch, which most will agree.

The other features with the DVD recorder is that it accepts and records onto Dual Layer +R DL discs ! The only bummer is that there is no S-video input only RCA from your cable box or SAT. This is a major disappointment. The other thing is this unit accepts a wide variety of blank discs. -Minus and +Plus discs. The setup is EZ, the menu and permanent Disc Navigation Menu is very good, There is no built in fan for this hot puppy. which will only shorten its life.

The recommended DVD Recorder from Samsung is the DVDR155, it only accepts -Minus discs, but is sleek, performs very well, eliminates the VHS portion, but allows S-Video input from your Cable or SAT and delivers a far sharper image for playback. Good picture quality.

The best DVD combo system is the Toshiba...
...

mg2018 says "Sharp Images, EZ Dubbing, HD playback very good" about Toshiba DVR610 DVD Recorder / VCR Combo

This is a far better DVD Combo Recorder than others. The Toshiba D-VR610 offers clear, crisp recordings with widescreen HD clarity.

The Unit receives S-Video and RCA inputs and upconverts this via HDMI or Component outputs which delivers a very good reproduction.

Can record from Cable Box, Digital Converter Box or Satellite. There is no built in tuner. When transferring your VHS tapes to DVD it is flawless and does not have issues with voice synch as other recorders have serious delays in sound and picture being synchronized.

This unit accepts both -Minus and +Discs, using name brand media will prevent disc errors.

The setup manual and remote take initial getting use to, but once you get the hang of how it operates and offers a wide variety of choices to the user, its a great machine.

Having a whisper quiet fan built in will prolong this units life, A must with any DVD recorder due to the intense heat produced by the laser burner.

The only disappointment is that when...
...

mg2018 says "The best HD reproduction thus far" about Toshiba - DVR610KU DVD Recorder

I have owned many DVD recorders since 2002, and this particular unit is by far, the very best yet. Toshiba has far exceeded many other recorders out there on the market with offering the sharpest, clear and crisp reproductions I have seen. The EZ setup and navigation makes this unit and user a success. The only bummer is that they do no offer pass through technology for when you turn off the unit and enable sound and picture to continue (like other models may have developed).

The HD pickup and widescreen recognition is a major plus, as well as the upconvert to 1080i and 1080p via HDMI cable or Component into your set. The replay of recordings is far superior to most if not all others. A clear winner !
...
