metsjets says "iPhone without the phone WiFi included." about Apple - iPod Touch

I love electronic toys. I do not love cellular telephones. I don't like being THAT accessible. I love music and I love having my music portable and accessible.

The iPod Touch is generally the iPhone without the phone. I realize that's a generalization and there are other features the iPhone has, that the Touch does not, but that's a quick and dirty description of the Touch.

The feature I like most about the Touch is the WiFi connection and Safari browser. If you're in WiFi range your Touch is web capable. If you've read that email on the Touch doesn't exist or that calendar entries are "read only" and you're hesitant, think about this. If you're connected using the Touch's WiFi connection, why not check and respond to email via the Safari browser? I regularly check my Yahoo and Gmail on the Touch and it works flawlessly. Additionally, since the Safari browser in the Touch is the same as the one in the iPhone, sites are being created to fit the mobile format. I'm able to...
...

metsjets says "Shop safely and confidently online at Buy.Com." about Buy.com

I have been buying equipment, CD's, DVD, peripherals, etc at Buy.Com for many many years.

I am continually impressed by their highly competitive prices and their efficient shipping and customer service departments. Additionally, many many items I have purchased have included rebates that manufacturers have set up just for Buy.com purchases. A sampling of some items I've purchased and received a rebate are: Software, iPod docks, A/V connecting cables, Brother P-Touch labeler.

Many items include free budget shipping. Selecting budget shipping puts receipt of your goods 7-10 days away. I've never waited more than five. I've never received an item that I was displeased with or needed to return, so I cannot comment on the returns process and procedures and ease of receiving credit for a returned purchase. What I can say is if their return process matches the shopping experience, it too should be first rate.

Next time you're considering on-line purchases, check out Buy.com.
...

metsjets says "Affordably expand the HDMI input capabilities of your HDTV." about Impact Acoustics - 5 Port HDMI Selector Switch

Digital Cable Tuner, DVD player, Blu-Ray or HD-DVD, TiVo, Satellite Tuner, etc. All have HDMI outputs.

Your HDTV? How many inputs? One? Maybe two? At most three.

If you have multiple pieces of equipment and want to quickly and easily connect them all to your HDTV using the HDMI connection then this switcher could very easily and affordably solve a problem for you. My HDTV has two composite video inputs, two component video inputs and one HDMI.

Using this piece of gear you can expand your single HDMI input by 5. Simply connect all your gear to this selector switch and then the selector switch to your HDTV and you're in business. Its so easy the unit doesn't even come with instructions.

The remote is very tiny and could be easily misplaced. It does however allow direct access to each input rather than cycling through 1-5. Shop around, you can find this selector for almost half of what Impact Acoustics sells it for on their website.
...

metsjets says "High quality, low cost problem solver." about CTG Cables To Go Impact Acoustics - 3-Play High Performance Component Video/Digital Audio Selector (40324)

This past summer, I purchased a small HDTV for my enclosed back porch. The HDTV has an analog (or standard cable ready) tuner, component (RGB) video, standard A/V connections as well as a built DVD player.

The problem. Select an HD signal to send to that television. The television has no HDMI input, and just as well. The distance from the living room DirecTV receiver and TiVo Series 3 DVR are too far to be practicable or affordable.

The solution. I purchased two RGB baluns with analog audio that distribute the signal point to point via standard CAT-5E data wire along with this Impact Acoustics Component Signal switcher. Using secondary audio outputs (primary audio feeds home theatre system) from both the DirecTV H20 Receiver and the TiVo Series 3 DVR as well as their RGB outputs, I can now distribute true 1080i RGB signals from the living room to the back porch. This simple yet effective switcher has three inputs and one output. The remote is quite small and possilby...
...

metsjets says "Looking for an independent VoIP provider? Choose the inventors." about Net2Phone

In the interests of full disclosure I must say that I am a former Net2Phone employee. Wanted to get that out of the way right upfront.

In July 1996 direct descendants of Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Watson completed the first ever VoIP telephone call. Bell's great granddaughter located in New York City called Watson's great granddaughter in London, UK. Net2Phone and its corporate parent, IDT were the originators of this new communications system. At that time, the call was placed using an Internet connected PC to any telephone number in the world.

Through the years, the technology improved, high speed Internet access became affordable for residential use and plain old telephone service from your regional Bell operating company became more expensive and laden with fees and taxes that almost matched the flat rate for service.

Today, cable companies offer VoIP services as part of their triple play offer of Internet, Phone and Digital Cable Television. Independent VoIP operators...
...
