mcklyd says "BLAH............" about Blades of Glory

Of complete garbage. I didn't laugh, not once, through the whole movie. It's not funny. Period. I'm a fan of comedy, and there are some classics out there. This isn't one of them. Will Ferrell has went from original to old hat, simply repeating the garbage someone called a script and handed to him along with a paycheck.

"Elf" was hilarious. "Anchorman" was awesome. "Talladega Nights" and "Blades of Glory"? No thanks. That's an hour and a half I'll never get back again.

I just don't understand how anyone seriously thinks this is a funny movie. There is zero originality, the lines are pointless and uninspired, and the CGI and cable work for the ice skating scenes are garbage. Watch "The Cutting Edge" which was made at least 10 years ago, the skating scenes are at least 10 times better.

Go rent "Office Space", or "Tommy Boy". Those movies have character, substance, and will have you laughing out loud, and not because someone made some grade-school joke and called it humor. Those movies had......

mcklyd says "Not so great....." about Knocked Up

I honestly don't know if four or five decent laughs equal the 2+ hours of investment of time needed to view this movie. Knocked Up may be hilariously funny or an overrated flop, depending on where you are in life. For a teenager or college person, you may find it hilarious. If you are middle aged, you may wonder what all the fuss is about. F-bombs fall like so many raindrops on a stormy day. Katherine Heigl is extremely easy on the eyes, one redeeming feature. Still, at multiple levels the movie strains believability.

Heigl is so hot that it is hard to believe that, even drunk, she would hook up with a Neanderthal Fatboy like Seth Rogan. Once pregnant, Heigl goes around town interviewing prospective obstetricians. Ha! Just try doing that under (or outside of) any HMO.... People live in nice homes in an expensive area of the country with little visible means of support, The movie is overly long, with some extraneous sub-plots. Seth Rogan's pack of roommates have some funny dialogue as they......

mcklyd says "I hate to see what they cut out to keep the 'R' rating..." about Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan

The movie films Borat (Sacha Baron Cohen, of "Ali G." fame) as he takes a journey across America so he can document American culture. Along the way he falls in love with Pam Anderson and decides that he is destined to marry his dream-women. This is Borat's first time in the US so he isn't used to the customs or modern conveniences (such as a commode that flushes.)

Along the way Borat meets, interviews, and speaks with various Americans. "Borat" is a thousand times more vulgar than any other adult-comedy and makes "South Park" look like a sweet Disney picture.

I loved when Borat met with the feminist organization in NY and referred to one of the ladies as "pussycat." It was pure comedy and so offensive. I don't think this was scripted? Borat's sidekick, Azamat was also very funny. When Borat and Azamat had the nude wrestling match I thought I was going to wet my pants, I never laughed so hard.

Borat takes cheap potshots and Jewish people, homosexual men, women, African American people, and......

mcklyd says "Great Movie." about Finding Nemo

"Finding Nemo" is one of the best animated movies released in 2003. This movie is highly enjoyable for audiences of all ages, not just kids. It has many unique features that stand out from all other movies, especially the combination of comedy and life-long lessons. Its plot will keep audiences laughing at many quotes. Every movie characteristic is catchy. Every scene keeps the audience awaiting anxiously for the next scene. Marvin's journey to rescue his son from humans and Nemo's struggle to escape from the aquarium symbolize this.
The acting is great. Albert Brooks, Ellen Degeneres, Willem Dafoe, Allison Janney, and Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush are a few actors who offer their voices. Degeneres amazingly offers her own sense of humor to the movie. All other actors also played their roles wonderfully. Every voice effect matches their characters' profile perfectly.

The catchiness stretches further than just the screenplay. The animation is ahead of its time. The color is amazingly shiny....
...

mcklyd says "Incredible camera for the price...." about Kodak - c743

I've been very happy with Kodak digitals ever since I got my 3mp EasyShare about three years ago. That camera was a workhorse that never failed. But when I dropped it into a river this fall, I knew it was time for an upgrade.

I was a bit wary of this new model, since it's predecessor (the 6.1mp model) was known to have some issues. But so far, this camera has been completely problem-free.

Not only that, but it TOTALLY BLOWS AWAY my old 3mp---and I was VERY happy with that camera! Incredibly, this camera has TWICE the power and TWICE the features at HALF the price. Now, some might say that's just due to perpetually advancing technology in general; but even when that factor is considered, I think Kodak is still significantly ahead of the curve when it comes to "bang-for-the-buck" functionality. I've met "professional photographer" type snobs who laugh at these Kodak digitals because they look "cheep" and "simple" compared to their $2000 SLRs. But the picture quality is what matters, and these......

mcklyd says "Please don't use these....." about Hartz 2 In 1 Flea Collar for Cats

Please do not get these flea collars for your cat. They do not work, and they can also choke your cat if he/she is a climber like mine. If you don't have the money for flea treatments, try these...

Choose an absorbent collar for your pet, such as the widely available heavy-duty woven nylon collars. The collar will absorb essential oils, an no additional collar is needed. Essential oils that repel fleas and ticks include citronella, rosemary, and rose geranium. Buy only 100 percent pure essential oils, and using an eyedropper, put just one or two drops on the collar. Repeat each week. Some animals are very sensitive to the strong smell of essential oils, so start with just one drop and increase to two if they seem to tolerate the smell. If ticks are the biggest problem, use rose geranium; for fleas choose citronella if for a dog, but not for cats.
...

mcklyd says "Advantage always works great for my cat!" about Advantage Cats Purple Over 9lb 6 Month Supply

Advantage really works for my cat! My vet told me about it because I have having some trouble with FrontLine Plus, and Advantage really took care of the flea problems that the others couldn't. On top of everything else, Advantage also treats internal parasites too. That way you don't have to use several medications, just one Advantage once a month. The only downfall is that the vet charges over $17 for a one month's supply, but other than that it's great!...

mcklyd says "Stop walmart from selling fish" about Walmart Any Fish

I'm not sure of much I can say that the others have not already, but please do not purchase any fish from Wal-mart. The fish are always on the verge of death if they are not already there. Wal-mart should really look at what they are doing to these poor creatures, and stop immediately. Also, the fish are always very crammed into these tiny tanks. Fish need room to swim around; give the fish a chance to enjoy their life. They are not items; they are animals!...

This film was great! Even though I may not always enjoy an action film, I didn't once want to leave my seat from watching this movie. Even though the movie ended a little differently than I was expecting, I give it two thumbs way up! However, this movie would not be for someone that has a light stomach, and the movie could also be disturbing for children....

I've had my Acer for almost two years now, and I'm pretty satisfied with it. I purchased the insurance with it when I bought it, but have not yet had a use for it.
