mbhutchins says "So you think you really have a good show? " about So You Think You Can Dance

The judges ruin yet another dancing reality TV show. We don't need these shows. But this one might actually be ok if not for the judges and the host.

Sorry, I'm not a fan.
...

mbhutchins says "Above average....for a networking site. It has its faults. " about Facebook

Great for finding people you had forgotten or for people who will hunt you down.

It's gotten worse with the addition of so many applications, but lets be honest, it's always fun to look at your "Friends" photo albums.

At least it helps us keep in touch with folks far away with minimal effort. And provides great entertainment.
...

mbhutchins says "Didn't read Book: 5 stars...Read book: 4 stars" about The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

So I have been a Chronicles of Narnia fan since I was young, but I haven't read Prince Caspian since then...I saw the movie with 2 who had recently read the book and of course, like most book-to screen adaptations, for them there were a few dissapointments.

The most tragic are when the depth and most poignant elements of the book are missing in the film.

But, as a movie, it is fantastic. Well made, great cast, engaging, long but it doesn't feel like it, and appropriate for all ages, if your children are ok with battle scenes a-la LOTR.

I don't want to give any spoilers here, so I'll just say that amid all the junk in film right now, this one is worth seeing - and on the big screen.
...

mbhutchins says "Great, if you can afford it" about Harris Teeter - Arlington, VA

As a food lover, I've always enjoyed the grocery store. Harris Teeter has always been a clean, presentable, maneuverable store, but sometimes you have to pay for it.

I have recently encountered them lacking basic produce (it's June....) and their prices are consistently higher than some competitors. But, the staff is always pleasant, and it's really convenient to run in and pick up either a few things or a week's worth of groceries.

...

mbhutchins says "The Classic City, The Bulldog Nation, High academic rankings" about The University of Georgia

UGA is a great school, where, even though it's large, you won't feel "lost in the crowd". I have a PoliSci degree from SPIA and I think it's rapidly becoming a superior program.

Of course, if you aren't from Georgia, there might be some hurdles to overcome, but we're friendly enough folk that you shouldn't have much trouble.

Great course offerings, great community, great athletics...not much to complain about. And the alumni network is alive and well.
...
